Imagine this you’re hanging out with your three friends having the best time of your life. All of a sudden we have the bright idea to go look at Spencer’s. You don’t even take one step until you’re stopped by an employee. All you can hear is crickets. You can’t hear a single thing coming out her mouth. She sees our visible look of confusion and still keeps talking in the lowest sound known to man with an annoyed expression. She stereotyped us and told us something about not going in if we were going to be rowdy but we didn’t even say a word??? I wish we just turned around, but we went in for around three minutes and bought a shirt. After we paid, we were trying to get through but another customer was almost completely blocking the way. We squeeze by, but the other girl at the register says “maybe if you say excuse me she’ll move” in the most passive aggressive attitude ever. It’s clear from the other reviews that it’s not just entitled employees— management is enabling them to act like this and profile customers. It’s not exactly a store for the most mature adults, it’s for older TEENAGERS. The least you can do is treat your demographic like human beings and not hoodlums.

Not surprised by how awful the recent reviews are, especially when they are all about the awful attitude of the employees. This spencer’s will be continuing to have this awful reputation because they only use auto replies under reviews, but they seriously need to stop hiring anyone. Today a girl with curly hair working in register around 5pm today gave me the nastiest looks and attitude while I shopped with a friend and tried to ask her for help. This is outrageous and I will definitely be considering to call calling headquarters. Customer service may be draining at times but it is not an excuse to treat others badly or make them feel judged over the smallest thing ever.

most, if not all, of the employees here need to work on their attitudes since they were unacceptably rude towards my friends n me. when offering 'help' to us, they were being passive aggressive abt it. one worker in particular, the overweight redhead with curly hair, treated us as if we were too incompetent to even find a specific t-shirt on our own. however, when i was checking out, i had to wait on the employee who was doing absolutely nothing behind the counter before she finally felt like she wanted to ring up my shirt. at that point, i didnt really mind but it really ticked me off bc when it was finally time for me to pay, i wasnt paying attention for a split second, assuming that she was still ringing it up. a simple “excuse me” could do to get my attention, but no. instead she said, “whenever ure ready, u can pay” in a very passive aggressive tone. another employee, one of the thinner workers in the bunch, was actually helpful n respectful which i appreciate. this should be the bare minimum for an ideal employee in this type of environment, but apparently its not, since most of them couldnt even manage that. i can understand if my friends n i were being annoying, but all we did was browse n talk to the employees w respect when approached. its funny how the reviews r consistently one star ratings, solely because of the behavior of these employees, n they still dont seem to take note.

Horrible service. I paid extra for an online same-day delivery and it was delivered to the wrong address. The service they use for doing deliveries has a fake support system where their online chatbot says they are contacting support for you but you will never hear back and their phone number will put you on hold for hours (and you will never be connected to someone likely because their customer support team does not exist). When I contacted spencer's customer service they were not apologetic about this at all. If I pay extra for a same day delivery, I expect some compensation for this unreliable and horrible service.

Very rude employees, I just came in to pick up two orders , Both lady’s give me an attitude in which all I said was I had a pick up. She gave me an attitude because she supposedly didn’t hear me. Other lady come out with another attitude defending the first rude lady repeats to me that she didn’t hear me. As she’s giving me the order she repeatedly makes rude comments that are unnecessary and unprofessional. Very unprofessional place to come.

Super rude and confrontational employee, really needs to get some training and anger management. I posted this and later I saw the previous review what exactly the same complaint, loud conversation, super rude woman, please do something about it, most likely is the same person, because even the other employee apologize about it and the other employee was super sweet and nice.

Worker very rude. Employee having loud conversation with her friend across the aisle. When I walked through the aisle of the store, got yelled at and told to say "excuse me." I didn't touch or bump anyone, nor did I get anywhere near. Maybe don't be having personal conversations across the aisle and get mad when I quickly walk through. Didn't buy anything, won't be back, couldn't even physically make it to the back half of the store without being yelled at

One of the employees is very rude and should learn to stay in her place..

Came there today and a young girl named Julianna had a bad attitude & acted like she didn’t wanna be there. She needs to be trained again. The other 2 women were alright.

The manager is soo rude in this store! I went to the store due to wanting a hat. I hear the manager of the store practically yelling at the employees. Then I am in the book section and she said excuse me and I thought she needed to pass me. But she said excuse me I have to change this book section. I was like no way I am spending my coins in this store. So sad because the employees are nice but upper management needs to fire that manager!

I've been in other Spencer's before that I wasn't greeted with an attitude, so even though I bought something I will not be going to this store again.

Wish i could of left no stars because no stars work at this spencers in newport mall especially so called manager MEL! She needs retraining on how to resect customers coming to purchase items in this very bad times we are going thru. NOT belittle people infront of other people look at the reviews they have a manging problem people not happy coming here. The only help i recieve was from a worker not a manager named ASHLEY! I will be writing to corporate to deal with this MEL problem ps# MEL you dont talk disrespectful to customers while customers are shopping hearing your rude ness at work. i would fire u period.

Definitely won't be coming back here I needed something out of the case a woman told me she would be with me in one minute instead of helping me she takes more customers and didn't find anyone else to help me going in there was a waste of my time

It's always a pleasure to go into this shop. The staff is great and the selection is amazing.

The website shows an opening of 10am and that isn’t accurate at all. I call the lady she tells me no they open at 11am now I’ve been here since 9am because I assumed I only had to wait one hour but instead waiting 2 hours. I’m here for a pick up and they weren’t willing to give me my pick up till 11 I live quite far and had an issue yesterday that they didn’t allow my sister to pick up the order for me either so I had to come all the way here to get it myself that’s time I don’t have to spare. I am going to report this to the bbb because my experience today was the worst no one has time to sit and wait for 2 hours cause they can’t update the hours of operation so people like me don’t waste their time. The girl working there was absolutely no help what so ever.

A Karen works there on god!!! Lmaoo. If you had a bad day, remember it’s no ones fault but yours so don’t take it out on anyone! ?

One of the worst Spencer’s I have been to what kind of store doesn’t allow you to open the shirt completely to see?don’t recommend for anyone there are better stores than this one

Spencers always have the dopest tees. I literally have to stop myself from buying so many. They have other cool things too but I usually just focus on their tees and buttons.

Stood in line for 15 minutes while the cashier chatted with other customers at the counter. Finally gave up and left without buying anything.

My favorite store in the mall they have all kinds of merchandise. Prices aren’t bad and they usually have a sale going on.

The Best Place To Get Scary Dolls From. Love My Chucky And Tiffany. Waiting For them to open so I can get more..

Can't go to the mall without coming here! Great place for unique gifts that will make people laugh. There is some of everything (Naruto, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, Rick and Morty etc). They have different themed shirts, belts, hats, shot glasses, jewelry, magnets, pins and more. When I have to get someone a gift I check this place out first.

So went there yesterday and Heather was a sweet heart! One of my favorite places to when I go to the mall! Prices are a lil pricey but it's all good Heather made it better! Lol

Who doesn't lime this place?! Unique items, awesome staff and prices or ok. They have alot of naughty stuff too ?

One thing about Spencers Gift is that they always have some hidden gems. The worker are cool, and are willing to help.

I like it! it's cool ! Should request more exotic merchandise then it'll be more up beat.
