If I can give them more than 5 stars, I certainly would. As a woman, almost every shop will try to rip you off. I’ve been going to Dave for over 5 years now, and everyone there is extremely helpful and accommodating. Whether it’s a small job or a big job, Dave is always willing to take care of me for a great price. I’ll never go to another shop again, and I’d recommend him to everyone. They are truly just such pure and great people, and most importantly, they know what they’re doing. Every concern I’ve ever had has been addressed and fixed in a timely manner with accuracy and no follow-ups needed. Thank you for the amazing work you all do.
When accelerating my car was hesitating/vibrating for a second and went away. Worried it was something serious I went to him for advice to see. The main guy drove it and quickly said it was the transmission that needed to be fixed.
Since it’s a Toyota I wanted to make sure it was that I decided to just take it to a Toyota dealership and pay that $180.00 for the diagnostic.
Turns out it was just an unbalance that the car had and small things like an alignment on some parts. So UNPROFESSIONAL of him to just jump to that conclusion and trying to make me spend $4000 on something I didn’t need AT ALL!
This shop does not deserve any stars i had to put 1 to put this review My son took his acura to get a transmission put in by this guy and let me tell you he is the worst mechanic and worst transmission shop I ever seen my son took his car to a different mechanic to repair something else on his car and they noticed he is leaking transmission fluid everywhere they left his transmission cooler lines loose and he has bolts in his transmission that aren't torque down all the way and that we're still lose SMH DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP YOU HAVE A BETTER CHANCE AND PROBABLY DO A BETTER JOB DOING IT YOURSELF FROM HOW BAD THIS SHOP IS ‼️ AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COST SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND MONEY.
Good customer service but best of all the mechanics know what they are doing...Rebuilt the transmission for my 2014 Town n Country..I trust.Dave and you will.too..
After calling other local shops to inquire if someone can fix my broken driver side mirror. I lucked out walking in to this shop. Dave provided top tier customer service. He understood the severity of the situation and how dangerous it was for me to commute with a dangling mirror and with my child so he stepped in and immediately swapped out the mirror for me. (I already purchased the parts needed) I would highly recommend this shop based off of work ethics.

TOTAL PROFESSIONALS. DAVE IS AN EXPERT AT REBUILDING TRANSMISSIONS FOR OVER 30 YEARS. ALL JOBS COME WITH A WARRANTY. DAVE DID MY PORSCHE CAYENNE TURBO WITH 4×4. BEST TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST IN THE COUNTY. NEVER ANY COMPLAINTS FULL PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. ?????
was told my car needed the trans fluid changed and dave told me it didn’t need it and to not mess with it because it’ll cause so many other issues very honest guy.
Dave is the nicest person to deal with. He is very professional and very talented.his work is impeccable and I would always go back because of his honesty.
My fuel gauge is not working I put 20 bucks here and their thinking gas is cheap. I misjudged how high gas is now so I ran out of gas. I took truck to Dave he checked the truck and was honest and told me it was out of gas. Dave also coinsedently about 8 years ago rebuilt my transmission when he had a shop downtown jersey city truck is running great. Thanks Dave for being honest.
How do unit put in a customer's car and fail within one week wasn't even fixed right put on a shaft was missing wire harness was left hanging on the car absolutely terrible work dangerous borderline Reckless this place is a fraud I wouldn't go there do not recommend
Dave's transmission is great. They always fix my bmw quickly and If I have any further problems they respond to me quickly. They warranty their work and stand behind everything they do. I recommend anyone to service their vehicle there. One downside. Because they are SO good they sometimes have so many cars to service. But on the upside their services is prompt.
I took my car to this place the last week of may. I only took it here because I live so close to the shop and having pass by all the time I grew a friendly relationship with one of the mechanics. I regret taking my car here so much!!! I didn't get my car back till July 27th after having dropping it off on the last week of May. I continually walk by because I walk that way to go to the supermarket and visit my mom and for weeks I kept seeing my car parked outside while different cars were always being worked on. For weeks they kept telling me the place they order their parts from kept sending them the wrong parts. But come on how many times can a company actually be sending you the wrong parts? finally I get my car back on the 27th of July and had to bring it back with-in like 2 days few days because the car was more messed up than when I first took it there. And this was for a power steering pump and the power steering pump line. Again they had me waiting a few more months with the same excuses that they keep getting the wrong parts for the car. Finally I had enough and had to take it to a different mechanic and in 3-Days my car was fixed!! Mind you I had already paid Dave's Transmission over 900 bucks for nothing because my car never got fixed! And had to pay the second shop 1,200. Dave's transmission is the worst!! Never again!!
Dave is a great friend and a master mechanic any little noise I hear on my truck , straight to Dr. Dave and he always gets the job done . No job too big or small , consider your problems solved ...
As the Auto Tech and then a manager of a company owned MIDAS in Summit NJ I know just how frantic things can get in a matter of minutes. Having said that, just by speaking with Dave ( THE OWNER AND GO TO GUY WHEN THEIRS AN ODDBALL VEHICLE OR TRANSMISSION THAT THE OTHER TECHS ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH )

Daves Transmission is the essence of DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER ! When I managed the corporate store for Midas International DBA “ COSMIC ENTERPRISE “ they were so anal about the way the shop looked they wanted us to stop working on cars and trim the hedges, pull weeds, clean shop from waiting area to the dumpster fenced in at the rear of the building.
I am not looking to eat there, I am looking for a good job at a fair price by someone I feel I can trust. This is how I feel about Dave and his crew.
DANGER STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE--HAD TO TAKE MY CAR TO BE REPAIRED AT A PROFESSIONAL MECHANIC AFTER GOING TO DAVE'S. I WASN'T INFORMED MY CAR WAS LEAKING GASOLINE AND MY CAR SOUNDED LIKE A TUG BOAT AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORST, NOW I HAVE ADDITIONAL CAR EXPENSES. EVERYBODY THERE IS JUST TALKING AND NOT DOING MUCH ELSE. SUPER DEPRESSED NOW.!!
Fixed my car for a fair price. What else can you ask for? The dealership would have charged double, and try to sell me more stuff I didn't need. Dave is a great mechanic and trustworthy. Invaluable to the community.
I brought my Miata to Dave's to have the suspension fixed. Friendly, knowledgeable staff made it an enjoyable experience. Richard, the mechanic who worked on my car, is great. I was able to get a same day appointment and the work was done quick and right.
I will be bringing my car back for future work and repairs. I recommend Dave's Transmissions to anyone in need of professional automotive repairs.
