Excellent Customer Service!!!! After have a very bad experience with a different U-Haul location that is located in Bayonne NJ. The staff at the Tonnelle location was very helpful and understanding of my situation. I definitely recommend using this location!!!

Very impressed with the service at the location, the representative explained everything very clearly and guided me through the checkin. Truck was exactly what we needed and I was very happy with the final cost. I would 100% use U-Haul again.

Shoutout to Kaya, CiCi, Shaq and Micheal who have helped me in finding the right storage unit for my unique needs. The team here has been welcoming and warm from the first time I called. When I came in person each employee was patient and efficient. I really appreciate the way they go the extra mile to make their customers get what they need. Happy I am using this storage facility!

Keeps their rentals at 1/4 tank so they can hit you with the $30 fee on top of paying their price for 4 gallons- 4.80 a gallon. Be careful. No customer parking either

This place has NO CUSTOMER PARKING. There should be a warning prompt to let you know that they don’t offer customer parking. How can one rent a truck and not leave their car there?! It is the most ABSURD concept.

I had booked U-Haul moving pods and a truck online, and was told that the trailer needed to tow the pods had to be booked directly with the Tonnelle location. I went in person days before my scheduled pickup to confirm this, and was assured everything was set and there would be no issue. When I arrived on the day of my move, there was no trailer available. It created an incredibly stressful situation at the worst possible time. What made it even worse was the attitude of the manager—completely uninterested, unprofessional, and downright rude. There was zero accountability or effort to make things right. The overall culture at this facility feels careless and unhelpful, and it reflects very poorly on U-Haul as a company. I would strongly caution others to double-check every detail or consider using a different location altogether.

Store your items literally anywhere else because, they are the least accessible place located in most awful corner of JC. Not once have I been able to access my items due to a number of issues on their end

It was extremely busy in the morning when I came to unload my UBox. Shaq was super helpful and checked on me periodically if I needed anything. As soon as I finished he closed me out and assured that my billing was finished and closed.

Ann Marie Williams (“Cici”) is a terrible manager with no accountability. I first called with a question and was met with kindness and clarity by Shaq, who explained everything I needed. When I called back with an app issue, I was immediately put on hold and never returned to. I left work to handle it in person, only to find Ann Marie as the manager. She threw Shaq under the bus, refused to acknowledge the written policy I was sent, and argued instead of admitting she was wrong. The worst moment: after I complimented Shaq’s service, Ann Marie turned to him while I was sitting away from the counter and said (thinking I couldn’t hear), “Can you help since you have great customer service?” When called out, she said, “I wasn’t talking to you.” Immature, unprofessional, and antagonistic. I was also forced to wait 15 extra minutes while she scrambled to replace the printer toner—a task she admitted should’ve been handled over the weekend. That’s not oversight; it’s poor leadership. What should have been a quick request turned into a frustrating hour. Shaq is the real asset here, but he’s stuck working under incompetence. Corporate, please take note. (I’m also not sure if that’s her name. Everyone in store called her Cici but the receipt she signed showed Anne Marie Williams….)

The process was quick and easy I also would like to personally thank Shaq for his suggestions as well as him seeing the process of me getting and returning the truck through it was a wonderful experience and I have no negatives to note

Man honestly they were one of the best movers I’ve experienced. Even dropped me off to my car. When I say i recommend them for any or every move it’s an understatement! Thanks again

Was very overwhelmed but god bless Shaq he was very patient. Not just with my but with the other many customers that flooded the place since for some reason only one person was hired on the register that day which was very annoying. Again, thank you Shaq. Very big help.

We made the long haul from Boston to NJ, and this location made our drop-off incredibly easy. Shaq was handling customers seamlessly—efficient, helpful, and genuinely kind. He took care of a drop-off concern for us, which we truly appreciated after a long few days. Highly recommend this location, especially with team members like him on board. ??

I was very frustrated for some extra charges. The store called me, representative stayed calm and helpful despite my frustration. I appreciate the store and the representative of Uhaul. Dont remember names but they are really respectful and understanding people.

I’ve renting from 276 Tonnelle since Spt of of 2024. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. The previous manager Jose was great. The current manager Ann Marie is Amazing. There are locations closer to me but I prefer to come here.It always brings a smile to my face when Shaw greets me by name! Keep up the great work Team?

Overstaffed and still unhelpful. The person at the counter told me to set up everything through the app which takes way longer and entirely defeats the purpose of having more than one employee, let alone 4 at the counter. I also wasn't informed I had to bring the van back to that location which costs me an extra $350 (65 miles) because of the milage, whereas the option to leave it at another location was $500-1,000. That's EXTORTION. I was also given the vehicle with less than a quarter tank of gas in it so I had to refill it myself. And the line to return the van in the evening spilled out onto the highway, endangering not only myself but the van as well as it is off a major intersection with the off ramp located right next to the building. They have no customer service and the $2/mile is ridiculous. There's nearly not a single situation where someone is not paying $100+ for even a local move. Go with Penske or Budget instead.

Rude lazy staff, but it all makes sense when you get to the manager Jose. Super difficult and problematic person. Very unpleasant place to make business at. I have a storage unit there and I deprive myself from the stuff I have in it so I won't have to enter that place. They lock your unit the morning after you miss your payment (which is ok because that's what you sing up for when you rent the unit) but I pay soon as I get that text message stating they did not receive the payment and 2 weeks after I go to get something from the storage unit and!!!! It's still locked! Then you have to wait as long as it pleases them to have someone cutting off the red lock. And there's more!!!! You miss the payment for a day or 2 and not only have to deal with the locking thing but also you are receiving 3 or 4 letter in your mailbox stating you did not pay. It's cool that they lock it right away if you don't pay. Is their right but, letters a week or 2 after you already paid? And then wait unreasonable time to have the storage you already paid for to be unlocked? Staff talks over the customer and raise their voice saying "I understand but..." what do you understand if I cannot finish telling you my situation because you are talking over me???? Ugh! Horrible!

I don't know the name of the gentleman behind the counter at this location, but he is truly Ace!! He helps me out out every time I pick up my vehicle for the past 3 months of renting the vehicles at this location ( I have to rent 2 vehicles monthly for work purposes.) He truly is very helpful, I start the registration on my app and finish it with the app when i get the vehicle, but he helps get me to my rental quickly when i come in to pick up. I do appreciate his help and he always has a great attitude and is very friendly and helps everyone. All the staff has been great, when i return the vehicle, I only have to wait like maybe 5 minutes before the attendant gets the rental to take back, but i have been very content with the service at this Uhaul.

My experience there was fair and pleasant. What stood out to me was the young crowd that kept the place running when I picked up on a Sunday, 4/21/24. They were polite and efficient. Only issue I had was when I was returning the equipment the lot was full and I had to use the other entrance to reverse with the towing trailer I rented. Good thing I was experienced then again its a small trailer. Would definitely use this place again given the opportunity.

Truck was great. Front desk staff was great. Jose the manager needs some work. He wouldn’t let me park my car in the very large lot for 3 hours while I used the U Haul. He made me park in an eh area and walk half a mile, along a busy highway, in the snow and mud, back to the U Haul, just to do it again when I returned. When I returned, Jose began yelling at me about where I was parking, when I was parking in the same exact spot I parked when I picked the truck up. Making me walk in a snow storm along a busy highway (having to physically cross an off ramp) just to park my car elsewhere is ridiculous and unsafe. Wrong management decision, Jose.

This is a place you go when you tried all the other U-Haul and have no option. Laziest crew there. Had to get a last minute uhaul on July 4th because other place made reservation and never opened up (yes I got my $50 guarantee from U-Haul). Definitely will try to avoid this place in the future.

Good place to hire a vehicle for local movers, which they charge 19.95$ as initial rent for a day for truck and charges 1.99$/mile with additional taxes around 6-8$. Example: if you drive for 10 miles in a day will charge 45$ including all taxes. I m happy Hiring UHaul

First of all, the rent here is inconsistent. Second of all it’s FILTHY. Trash piled up on top of units. I can’t even blame the housekeeping girl who is super nice… she’s one person with a facility to clean that is absolutely abysmal. There’s storage places all over jersey city. Choose one of them. Avoid this place.

This place rents U-Haul and has storage facilities as well. The probability of getting the desired vehicle here is my h higher than the other pickup places as this is a huge facility. This place offers to buy stuff like mattress covers and bubble wraps and possibly everything you need to pack and move your stuff and this can be handy for any last minute buys. The check in and drop off prices was smooth. Will recommend this place to pick up U-Haul if in the surrounding

It was only 10AM and the clerk was already giving everyone a major attitude. I understand she didn’t want to be there, but we the customers have no choice either but to line up and wait for our truck rental and having to look her in the eye and wonder why she couldn’t just make things easier on herself by caring about the customers instead of flirting with her coworkers.

I had everything stored at Chelsea location for 2 /3 years but I was forced to moved to this jersey location after store close down and had my over 10 years personal belongings there for 3 years paying over $ 200 dls a month and everything was destroy by rats . Full lost , they gave me $2000 and after I spoke to the manager he offer me extra 1500 when I had thousands in lost . Besides over 5 years making profits on me be very careful if you decide to use this location and they have a system to not compensate you properly . Employees are not helpful and have dont care attitude . 65 inc tv , microwave, dvd and lot expensive staff all lost . This is the biggest storage space from that location

Many truck and storage are available. Sometimes you may need to call customer service when not booked confirm . Please note : if you park uhaul truck at night you may get $130 ticket ( 9 pm -5 pm). They may know the information but not reveal. Last time I hire the truck which was not good quality but sometime you may get better as it rotating. Please check your rate and equipment . Sometime they charge wrong and also supply wrong items which take time to talk with support team to resolve the issue . They given wrong equipment and charge wrongly . i informed but still they charged . When I booked price per mileage some rate but at counter they charge different then I need to call support for update .

I Found used mask, water bottles, a beer bottle, Dunkin’ Donuts trash and a used glove after reaching home 15 minutes after renting the truck. These all are stuffed under the seats as if to avoid cleaning and to put it out of sight of the customer’s eyes. This is the experience they are providing the people during a pandemic and only making my moving harder. Is U-Haul going to take care of my family in case someone gets sick? No they won’t. They don’t care about people. I cleaned it myself and disinfected the seating area.
