My niece went to this repair shop yesterday to get work done on her vehicle and was not informed that the machine that balances the tires was not working. When she picked up her vehicle she was informed that everything was fine. When she got on the highway and reached 50mph her vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. She called the shop immediately and was told to go to any other shop and tell them to balance her wheels,a service she paid for but never received and he never offered her the money back for that service. She went to a different shop which cost her an extra $200 for a service she already paid for and never received. He not only put her life in danger, he took her money. He knew that his machine was not working and still took her money. GIVE HER BACK HER MONEY, That was dishonest and misleading and unsafe. Upset aunt !!!!!

My family member received service from here that was not up to par. Not only did they not get all that they paid for, but the absence of service could've put their life in danger. Cars are dangerous and I would hope that a place which services them would understand that.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! My family member went to get their car serviced here and was overcharged! They did not tell my family member that their machine was down and couldn’t balance her tires after changing her brakes, tires and an oil change. She left and got on the highway and the car started shaking uncontrollably when she went above 50! This is unacceptable and dangerous and a business that is more concerned with money than safety should NOT be in business! She called and he told her to go to any shop and ask them to balance her tires. Why this wasn't done during the service? I don’t know! She had to pay someone else to get the work done properly. He didn’t offer any money back for the lack of. Who knows if he really changed the brakes and changed the oil at this point! Someone could’ve been hurt! Communication is always KEY! DO BETTER!

My daughter went to Under Car Care in Jersey City yesterday to get brakes and rotors, new tires put on her vehicle and an oil change they completed the work allegedly. When she picked up her car and got on the highway the car started to shake uncontrollably. Called the shop back and he stated that it was NOT necessary to balance the tires and that his machine was not working (but failed to mention that) and advised her to go to ANY other shop and ask them to balance the tires for her! They are a horrible business and if I was you I would NOT advise anyone to go there! He NEVER offered to refund my daughter any of her money because she paid for balancing in the price but never got it done! Thank you Tatum

I took my car there on a few occasions for brakes for tuneups. He does an amazing job. He’s very reasonably priced and he just seems like a all-around good guy. He’s very knowledgeable as a mechanic. Thank you, Ahmed.

I have had such a tough time finding a mechanic that is not going to rip me off anytime my maxima needs any work. Been going to this mechanic for four years now. Always straightforward very professional always honest. Completely trustable doesn’t try to rip you off or nickel and dime you. Diagnosis whatever issues going on same day get you the estimate the same day and does the repairs within the timeframe he gives you, highly Recommended mechanic. Won’t go anywhere else.

This is the best repair center in Jersey city. Ahmed is very professional, intellectual and honest. He doesn’t try to rip you off like other mechanics. I’ve been going here for 4 years and I refuse to go to another mechanic, I love it here!!

***This is a reply to the owner’s comment I only recall that I came 3 times. The first time I asked for the prices of parts and labors which you checked on your computer in 5 minutes. I didn’t have money to pay for the parts so I postponed it. The second time you had a glance at the car and said that I need to replace some parts which took 2 minutes from your time. The third is when you refused to help. I can’t recall the other 2 times. However, the most important thing is that I have never asked you to test the car or do more elaborate diagnosis as I know there may be small probability that I may not be able to pay and I didn’t want to waste your time or effort. I usually try not to use people in a bad manner. Also, you didn’t ask for money for such quick questions. However, if you have asked for money I would have paid you. Remember that I asked you the last time if you want money and I will pay you whatever money you want and you refused. Anyway this is a good information for every new customer that the customer have to pay the owner money if you want to ask him about the prices or have a glance without doing any elaborate work. Two days ago 8/22/23. I went to this mechanic shop, not knowing what to expect. I recently moved to jersey City and needed a good mechanic shop. My Alternator in Volkswagen Jetta went bad and needed to be replaced. The mechanic Ahmed.. was super professional, he took the keys to my car then took my number to call me with an estimate. The price was fair and reasonable after doing a research on other shop prices . I went back two days later the alternator was installed and he applied warrantee which shows good cutomer service. For me i would highly recommend going to Amed shop. Really, really good customer service and very thorough.

Pulled up for a muffler problem and price estimate and was not disappointed the gentleman by the name of Ahmed is very polite and professional, prices are very good from my experience with other locations by far the cheapest , he replaced my muffler (SUV) with a brand new one and added air to my tires for a very good pricing I can't complain and I asked multiple questions about parts and he shared his knowledge with me which I appreciated very respectful man and business I'm going back very soon I saw honesty in him when I asked to install a part for me he explained that it was a different part I needed instead of robbing me for my money he was very honest and shared what was actually needed I respect that highly . Overall great business and I will definitely be coming here from now on . Oh and btw this man does not play he gets to work right away he got me in and out in no less then 30minutes his time management is remarkable.

Ahmed is very professional and tells you exactly what the problem is, he doesn’t over charge and his work is guaranteed. Had my brakes done and he replaced a faulty belt tension pulley as well as the serpentine belt. My car is running perfectly! Wasn’t over charged or told any false information. I highly recommend his services.

I purchased a car over the weekend and visited this place to have the muffler replaced as it was rotted. The person I spoke with wanted to "diagnose" the problem, according to their signage a $75 charge. I told him the muffler needed replacement nothing else. So please quote me on that. He came up with a price of $350 It seemed like a steep price so I declined to have the repair done. I then ordered the muffler on Amazon for $70 (a known brand name in exhaust products) and was going to diy it myself with clamps, but I decided against that and went to a muffler shop in Queens and got it installed for $80 in about 15 minutes Part $70, labor $80, tolls $11.75 = way less than $350

Ahmed was absolutely great! He was honest and he broke down what was wrong with my car and told me the exact steps we needed to take. Pricing is absolutely fair, and I will be going back if I have any more problems!

I went to meineke because I had gotten quotes from other places to get all of my brake pads replaced that was $600 and upward (not including tax and NJ tax...well you know). I saw they were having a 50% sale for brakes so I decided to go to them. I waited in the office area and no one came to the desk. After a few minutes I went to my car and called them. Tdd him i needed new brake pad, he confirmed the sale I saw advertised, and he told me to come by. I came back. Waited a couple more minutes. Finally the guy came to the office area. After working out details, it took about 2 and a half hours for them to replace my brake pads. I paid $375 including tax which is a lot cheaper than the $680 quote I received from another place. I would recommend this place if you are getting brake pads done even if it isn't on sale. It's a lifetime warranty so when they wear out again, they will replace the pads for free!!! My only suggestion for them would be to hire someone to work at the desk so customers aren't waiting a long time in the office area. Update: Went yesterday for full synthetic oil change. $90 including labor. Their work is always good! HOWEVER, they desperately need someone to work at the front desk. Each time I've been there, a customer has walked out without getting serviced because no one was at the front desk. The place could also use a deep cleaning and organization in the customer/office area.

Ahmed was very polite and considerate of my exhaust pipe failure. He gave me a good and bad scenario. Thankfully it was a good ending. Professional, courteous, and finished the job quickly as it is my daily driver. Highly recommend Ahmed & Meineke muffler!!! A+++

Ahmed, the owner was very good. He quickly put my Porsche Cayenne up, inspected the exhaust, offered me a solution with genuine parts and we were done in 30 minutes max. Ahmed is a Jersey City resident and should be supported for his good efficient and honest work! Keep up the good work Ahmed

I always come here. Ahmed is the best. His prices are fair he doesn't try to rob you. I might say I need breaks and oil change. He tells me no I only need an oil change. I appreciate his honestly. He's Always professional and respectful. I'm always satisfied when I leave. I give this Meineke location 10 stars. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!

They are very patient, kind, and understand your situations. They use the real manufacturer parts instead of off the market brands. That is cool but the repairs can be costly. Their labor alone can run into the 200's so it helps if you have a credit card. They respect you and your car will be ready to go the day you bring it in because they fix it right away once they get your parts delivered. I like them but I hope my car don't break down often cause it can be costly. But the good news is your car is done the right way and the work is guaranteed. Bottom line is I feel safe when they fix my car cause I dont have to go back with the same problems twice.

I have a old car and they discontinued the exhaust pipe that I needed. Went to Meineke and they customized the pipe for me. Wait time was about 30 minutes and the job was done. Price was good. Very happy with the job. Thank you.

Needed my oil changed and scheduled an appointment. PROs: 1. Arrived early and they took me right away. 2. The staff is nice. 3. Job was done within ten minutes Cons: 1. They do not accept/ participate with company issued coupons. $24 oil change coupon issued to me after booking appointment. When I arrived they informed me of their policy of not participating. Imagine my surprise and disappointment. 2. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!! total bill came out to $74 rather than the expected $24 with coupon or $46-$50 elsewhere. Here's where they get you, When reviewing the bill they charged me $20 for labor. $10 labor x2. Don't understand why they charged me twice for a one person job. In Conclusion: Staff is nice, but prepare yourself to be Disappointed with the "fine print" and expect to spend $10 for every employee you talk too. Unfortunately, I Won't be returning.

We've been bringing our car here for a few years now. It's a hard to find a place you can trust your car with. Ahmed is an outstanding person. He's very honest and only charges what needs to be done. Because of this, we brought our family members car here too.

Came here for alignment and balancing and I was satisfied with the service. I also had a tire with a slow leak but although it seemed like it was fixed after driving about an hour my low pressure light came back on. I called and spoke with the boss and he told me to bring my car back, so all and all I will be back in the next few days to get that taken care of. The service was prompt and my main problem with my car was addressed.

I am happy to leave a review for Meineke and especially the manager. I have gone in there a couple of times a years for the past few years. He has always been so kind to me and been more than helpful to take care of whatever my car need was. I wish I was writing a pleasant review, because I like to give credit where it is due, but alas, I am not. I had terrible service here as a car owner. Not only were they not transparent with the pricing of oil changes, ( they charged a fee for the supposedly "free service" of a tire rotation for an added price of $17.95 on top of the $69.99 full synthetic oil change) one of their workers forcefully jammed my key into my switch cylinder, and bent the teeth inside, so now my keys won't open my door. I took it back to them and told them that my car isn't the way it was when I left it, and they tried saying that it was my keys that have worn out, but out of three years of my keys behaving perfectly normal, the day I go to these guys and get an oil change, they up-charge and mess up my key cylinder. I understand that for other people, these guys might be a good deal, but for others, it is not. Favoritism doesn't really work well in the service world. You should treat every customer equally, not some good and some bad. I will not be coming here anymore, you have lost a loyal customer. Maybe not all Meinekes are bad, but this one in particular isn't as professional and up to standard as I would have thought this franchise to be. Up your game.

Outstanding customer service! Definitely take your vehicle here if you'd like to receive excellent customer service. Exhaust manifold had a hole, took it there to get it welded. Price is a little higher than a mom and pop but the service they provide is definitely worth that premium. While they had my vehicle somehow my left rear tire had a leak. Took it back there and they replaced my tire!
