You can walk to the PATH. Basic necessities close bye. Nice roof deck and a gym. I met Erika from the management team and she was really nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately there was no one bedroom apartment available for my move in date just a studio. Maybe next time!
I recently had the pleasure of touring apartment with Erica from the leasing office, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. Erica's professionalism and enthusiasm made the process enjoyable and informative. She took the time to thoroughly show me around the property, highlighting its features and answering all my questions with patience and clarity. Her knowledge about the apartments and the community was impressive, and her friendly demeanor made me feel welcome. I highly recommend!
I Lived at Altura for two years. Honestly, was my worst experience as a renter.
#1) I’ve had 5+ packages stolen from building, which resulted in me NEVER delivering to my apartment anymore.
#2) My biggest annoyance: The neighborhood is filled with DRUG addicts and HOMELESS… there would be many nights staring out my window and hearing screaming and noise from drug users from their high across the street…. Especially during the summer months. There was an instance where two of them were in the apartment lobby, making a mess of their food.
#3) security deposit, they will pile on tons of fees. I got a little over half back but they called for silly things like “painting the apartment”. I’ve had other apartments, and typically that’s on the owners.
The only thing going for this place is the proximity to journal square. Other than that, overall, nothing special and waste of money. Every negative review, believe it.
Love living here at Altura. Nice building, recently built, and well maintained. close to the PATH train to NYC and overall nice experience living here.
Terrible company to deal with: *STAY AWAY*
My experience with Altura was horrible. I was told to sign in Rhino for deposit and they take care of everything such as claims after you moved out. I paid a monthly fee to Rhino for deposit coverage. After moving out, Altura created a claim with an amount of ~$1850. Also, they don’t report to Rhino to cancel my policy after three months I moved out and Rhino keeps charging my account every month.
When I moved in, the apartment was dusty and uncleaned, I moved out and left it very clean. They charged me $250 for cleaning. They charged me $850 for painting and a few other charges and made a claim of ~$1850. I got threatened of sending the claim to the collection agency while I was disputing it.
Their management and services were terrible. My car got damaged in their parking lot, random people parked their cars on my spot, packages got lost, and anytime there were issues inside the apartment, it took a few days maintenance to show up and management didn't take responsibility for anything.
I lived in a few places before but never seen such a terrible place. It’s very difficult to deal with them. STAY AWAY!
