Easily the best ube latte croissant of my life—just look at that glorious amount of coffee cream filling!! I was so excited to check out this new-ish Filipino bakery in Downtown Jersey City. They have an incredible line-up of sweet and savory pastries inspired by classic Filipino flavors. Everything was soooo good that it was hard to pick a favorite! Their pastries sell out quickly, and the weekend line can get long. My pro tips: go early if there’s something specific you want, and check their stories for the daily menu and stock updates! *Ube Latte Croissant $8 This is their signature croissant, and it truly lives up to the hype! The lamination was beautiful and the layers were incredibly flaky. The ube white chocolate ganache gave it such a strong ube flavor, and the coffee pastry cream was so rich I literally licked up the last bit. *Longanisa Sausage Roll$8 Longanisa tastes a lot like chorizo, but it’s sweeter and noticeably garlicky. The puff pastry had a lovely caramelized flavor that paired perfectly with it. I’d definitely get this again. *Beer Caramel Cake $8 I’m not usually a caramel girl, but the beer-infused caramel totally converted me! It tasted amazing with the whipped mascarpone and vanilla sponge. I just wish there was more raspberry jam for a more tangy flavor. *Kare Kare Croissant $11 Inspired by the traditional filipino stew kare-kare, this savory croissant was stuffed to the max!! The beef filling had rich peanut-y, coconut-y flavors, and the crushed peanuts added the perfect crunch. I know the price is steep, but it’s so well-crafted and filling that it really feels worth it.

I’ve had multiple frustrating experiences here. My coffee was made incorrectly once, another time my order was skipped and they served the people behind me with no apology from that staff. Today the staff were chatting behind the counter and ignored customers waiting. I was in a hurry and eventually had to leave without being served. The food is a bit above average, but the service is very disappointing.

The ube latte croissant is so goood!!! The flavors of ube and coffee cream are perfectly balanced. The croissant itself is flaky and soft at the same time and the filling feels very light. It is perfection! We went here before 9am on a Saturday so there were no lines or waiting whatsoever. Have to come back to try other bakery items, they all looked amazing! This place should be on your list!!!

This place is a real banger. Every visit is a delight. It is a bit small and doesn’t really have seating but that’s fine. The pastries they have are filipino inspired and hit so good, especially if you have a sweet tooth. The matcha muscovado is also so so good.

A delightful micro bakery delivering unique and flavorful sweet and savory pastries. Filipino through and through, from the warm vibes to the decor, Salvaje is a true neighborhood gem. The standout for me are the croissants, the layers and lamination they are able to achieve here is unreal. The matchas and lattes with the muscovado sugar may be my favorite coffee in all of JC. The flavors are constantly changing and rotating, the Instagram is a great follow as they post new and upcoming items and also if they are sold out/low. The line might be discouraging, but it’s deceptively long as the space is very small and only accommodates a few customers at a time.

I’ve been to Panaderya a few times now and it’s consistently great. The Ube Almond Croissant is a must—super flaky and the flavor is spot on. I also really enjoyed the Ube Croissant Latte and the bread pudding. Everything they make is high quality and has a really interesting twist. Definitely worth checking out if you're in JC!

Tried this bakery for the 1st time! Wonderful place. The calamansi cake is amazing esp the mascarpone and calamansi paste on top and the raspberry filling. Bought the monkey bread bc I like pandan stuff but it’s a bit too sweet and oily. Will come back to try the ube latte croissant and savory pastries in the future ??

all the pastries are so good and such unique flavors! i love the ube latte croissant & olive oil loaf but something needs to be said about the savory ones - it’s not everyday that a savory pastry hits the spot but the pork pot pie was soo delicious and flavorful. will be back for sure

10/10 they know what they’re doing in terms of baking. Awesome croissants. In my experience you generally need to come early because they run bakers hours - shop closes when the batches sell. Personal favorite - the savory croissant with ham slide in the middle.

The ube croissant with latte filling is crazy delicious. The filling is perfect, not too sweet, and the croissant itself is flaky and tasty. Highly recommend

Hesitating to put a review since this is a truly authentic gem of a place and dont want to share it with everyone, lol. Newest and most cozy Phillipino cafe in JC. Amazingly delicate and delicious food and probably the best Hot Chocolate around, including NYC ?

What delicious, perfectly flaky croissants and pastries with unique, delicate flavors. Salvaje has elevated filipino desserts, fused with French culinary techniques. Definitely highly recommend!

I got invited by a friend to come to this bakery and it was phenomenal. The staff were amazingly kind and knowledgeable of the food and the bakery uses Filipino flavors in their pastry’s and desserts. I got a couple of items and they all were delicious. My favorite was the Longaniza Pastry, and the Ube Piaya. The longaniza was savory and sweet with a crispy dough. The Ube Piaya was sweet and chewy. Some other mentions which were just as good is the Kare Kare croissant, and the brownie. If you want some good Filipino inspired pastry and desserts come by this bakery.

I just ate what might have been THE best pastry I've ever had in my life. The Kare Kare Croissant is IT. I prefer savory pastries with my coffee and omg thus I could eat every single day. Not to mention the lattes are amazing and the vibe is very welcoming. Will be back for sure!!!!

Had a pineapple croissant. Would say, the filling is a bit too sweet for me, like merengue. The dough is on the heavy side. Overall it’s not bad, but nothing to hype about. ?

This is a cute café, and worth the stop in when there is not a line wrapping around the block. It smelled so buttery and inviting when walking in. There is a limited amount of pastries available a day and a small selection. They usually always have a croissant, brownie and the paiya. I had the ube paiya and a monkey bread that was made of croissant pieces and young coconut on the top. The monkey bread was light, flaky and buttery. I liked it a lot. The ube paiya tasted like a pound of sugar, it was way too sweet. The prices for some things are too expensive, they have a pineapple croissant that is $9. I rarely spend $9 on a breakfast pastry. It is definitely like a once in a while treat, it would be hard to justify going to this place everyday. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, you can tell they love what they do and are very passionate about it. No space to sit inside, very small but there are two benches and a couple of chairs outside. It’s a to go place. Stop in to try something unique!

Got here at 7:30am on a Saturday and there were only a handful of people ahead of us. Small spot with limited seating, mainly grab-and-go. I tried one of everything, and these stood out: * Tocino & Cheese Croissant - savory, with bacon baked into the layers * Ube Latte Croissant - rich and custardy * Tablea Brownie - dense and rich, but pricey at $7 * Coffee Croissant Loaf - great pull-apart style; perfect for sharing or portioning * Calamansi Olive oil Cake - pound cake with lemon meringue Ones I'd skip next time: * Ube Piaya - nothing special * Dinakdakan Pot Pie - not my taste, though the chili oil kick was nice Overall: Worth it if the line is under 30 minutes and anything on the menu spikes your interest.

Recommended for a visit for folks interested in tasing fusion-Filipino-cuisine-inspired pastries. As someone who once lived in the Philippines, these creations and flavors were unique.

I finally made it through the line on a rainy weekend morning. You could smell the butter down the street, and the treats did not disappoint! My husband and I tried almost one of everything that was available, and we loved the unique flavours. Each item is large enough to share; it is rich! For a savoury option, we loved the pot pie. It was a heavenly fusion of butter, meat, onions, and a croissant-like texture. What a delicious treat!

YEP. Worth the line. i got the tocino & cheese, ube latte croissant, and the hot muscovado latte. 5 freakin’ stars. bonus: staff is super personable

absolutely loved their ube latte croissant and their matcha muscovado latte is so good! The staff is so warm and welcoming, and even though there was a bit of a wait, it was absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for something unique yet familiar–turning beloved Filipino favorites into beautiful pastries, this is the bakery to visit. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their pastries!

Some of the boldest, most creative pastries in town. We already tasted Panaderya Salvaje’s flavors in pop-up form at Lackawanna Coffee, Narra Collective and Next Door Provision. Finally the wait is over

Small quaint new pinoy bakery opened up downtown JC. There’s always a long queue. I thought just for opening week but also randomly on the weekend in the am. Went a little before 9 there was a queue and sold out of ube donuts already. Owners are both sweet, kind. Great warm service. Food is good. Lola approved. Not too sweet. Def want to come back again and try more. Limit two. Storefront is small and the owners just getting an understanding of the demand. The goods sell out faster than the hive and their cinnamon buns. Congrats guys can’t wait to try the rest of the menu

Perfect pastries! The calamansi olive oil cake was delicate and balanced, the ube croissant loaf and the piaya was such a delightful treat. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Delicious baked goods and latte-worth waiting in line at 8 am on a Sunday! Clemency cake was special: you can see them coming out of the oven and getting their cream topping. Fluffy donut with deep purple ube cream.

I waited in line on opening day for over 3 hours and was so excited to help welcome them to the neighborhood! We got piaya, an ube croissant with condensed milk cream inside, a tablea brownie, and a meat stew pastry I sadly cannot remember the name of. Everything was incredible and I can’t wait to go back. I think the ube croissant and the brownie were my favorites if I had to choose. The staff were all so lovely and friendly and just seemed happy to see everyone despite how long of a day it was for them. It’s been so lovely to see them selling out every day! Wishing you so much success ❤️

Went opening day and tried 4 pastries and a coffee - WINNERS ALL AROUND ?? ube latte croissant, kaldereta pan suisse, calamansi olive oil pound cake, ube piaya. I literally cannot tell you how amazing and perfect they all were. No notes. Will be buying again. Will be buying the other items too. Such a great addition to the neighbor!!

We went on opening day - the support for this bakery was unbelievable. So many people came to show love, the line wrapped around the whole block. We bought 1 of every pastry they had on the menu, both savory and sweet! Savory was hands down the bessttt. Definitely would recommend the Kalderata Pain Suisse, Dinakdakan Pot Pie and Bukayo Loaf. On the sweet side, the Ube Latte was delicious! Also tried the iced Matcha Muscovado, it was very refreshing and light and not too sweet ? Well recommended, will definitely be visiting again!

Went to their "well wishes" party today two weeks before their official grand opening on Sunday August 17th and bought two of their pastries. The mango croissant and ube piaya we're both absolutely delicious. Great lamination on the croissant and just the right amount of sweetness for the cream and mango filling. The muscavado matcha was also a treat.
