I like J C Penny's. I can always find something to buy. There is always a bargain there. It was very clean but not enough cashiers to check out people who were purchasing items.

JCPenney Portraits here is a letdown. We were scheduled for 7:30pm, didn’t actually start taking photos till 7:45ish, which was annoying, but alright as I needed to grab an item beforehand. I did return 7:35pm, but we still had to wait about 10 minutes, I let it go as I thought we were getting a good deal with their membership. The site is not really clear, and I was under a different impression regarding the “perks membership”. Fine. I was originally going to purchase a Groupon, but thought the membership was better. Upon realizing it wasn’t I went to purchase the Groupon in store, I read the fine print because normally a specific store will tell you if you have to do it 24hrs before, this didn’t. I assumed it was fine. I tried presenting it and all the person said was it won’t work, it needs to be 24hrs and walked away when she saw she couldn’t get a sale from us. I read it over and went to the front to ask why it didn’t state so. She didn’t even speak to us anymore. Her boss took over and “answered” the question with the same response which didn’t clarify anything. If you’re going to go, get a Groupon beforehand(24hours), other than that don’t waste your money in going

After an hour and 40 waiting for photos we left. We had an appointment. Totally unacceptable. Rude staff. Never use this place!

Had a facial done by Presha and it was the best! She takes her time and gives you helpful tips on how to maintain skincare. Truly a wonderful experience for my first facial at JCP!

DO NOT go to this JCPenny unless you want to get ROBBED out of their sales!! I saw that they were having a doorbuster sale, and I tried to snag onto some of the deals. However, when I went to check out, the man at the register wanted to charge me FULL PRICE for a discounted item! This was unbelievable! Then a lady told us to show her proof that it was discounted and we showed her the signs that literally said it was discounted. However, she kept on pressing the fact that I needed coupons to redeem the deal, however that was NOT the case as it said "EXCLUDES COUPONS", I dont think she knew what the sign meant! She was a lady with an indian accent and still refused to give me the price as advertised. This is ridiculous! False pricing even though it STATED that there was still a sale ongoing.

JC Penny Salon is one of the best. My mother went there for a facial. Presha who is one of the salon expert did phenomenal job. My mother is really happy with the outcome. I highly recommend JC Penny Salon and specifically Presha. Thanks for your expertise and customer handling.

Don’t get me started on the money hungry atmosphere at this place. Constantly pushing credit cards just to get their company incentive, they don’t care about u all they care about is their check, no morals, no shame, don’t shop here go to kohls or Macy’s.

Aimee and Siony are incredibly rude and unprofessional, especially in the way they treat their coworker Nabeela. I’ve seen them talk down to her and that’s hard to watch. Nabeela is respectful and she doesn’t deserve the disrespect they constantly show her. It’s clear Aimee and Siony are bullies, and it’s disappointing that this behavior is allowed to continue. I will not longer go to this store because they make me uncomfortable

Yesterday I was racially profiled at 10 Mall drive, Newport Mall. Around 8:40 mall closing time we were leaving through JCPenny and I was approached by an employee who asked my sister pushing her own stroller to check her baby bag. Speechless and hurt the employee checked her bag then apologized and stated she’s just doing her job. As a mother of six, me and my children have frequented this mall going on five years since we moved to downtown Jersey City and have never felt so humiliated and hurt. Camara’s would show we weren’t shopping so there was no reason to assume we had anything except the color of our skin. I do ministry in my church, I was raised on God’s word, and my entire family are professional people with class. This harassment will stick with me for the rest of my life and I will never spend a dime in this store ever again. I know America has a race problem but harassing two mothers pushing strollers to go through their baby bags are next level offensive. I’m sure the individual who judged me and my sister solely based on the color of our skin desire me to keep my mouth shut and feel sad that I Black, but I’m not normalizing this. Everyone I know who comes to visit me from out of town will no longer shop here. My huge family are very supportive of each other and understand that out Black dollars count. No wonder this store got a one star rating on consumer affairs. JCPenney is not my only option for shopping, these days I shop were I’m appreciated, and there’s plenty of competition these days!

Places really messed up if I can give it 0 stars. I would. We went and used the restroom went upstairs to go out to the 2nd floor because we parked on the top of the parking garage, they lock the door we had to use the elevator because we had a stroller and went all the way down and then they decided to tell us that we had to go in the rain. And not through the mall Because that's the only door that was open. I said I have an elderly woman, my baby and two small kids in one a little older kid and me and my wife thrown out in the cold and rain because they wouldn't unlock the door because they never notified us as they said they did

Beware. Their actual return policy is different from what it states online and the returns lady can be a bit combative. I bought a blanket online that produced too much lint. I thought perhaps this one was defective and I wanted to exchange it for another one. I bring it in, no tag, just to exchange. The lady working there said I couldn't exchange it because it's been used and saying that I caused it. For a department store that sells $80 dollar blankets, that's horrible service. In addition This isn't on their return policy online. I literally just wanted to exchange it not even return the blanket. Luckily I ended up talking to someone online. I decided to just then return the blanket. Thankfully they accepted it and returned in full They do not have hassle free returns as advertised. Their customer service sucks. Beware

I went there today for pictures and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. At the beginning they were saying everything NO. Then they made me “Upgrade” my picture package because according to them I bought holidays and it was a birthday. When they called me to confirm the appointment, I told them it was birthday pictures and explained to then that I bought it at groupon, they never mentioned the “upgrade” I even asked them if I could use the balloons background, and they said when you get here you show us which one. Suddenly today, I had to “upgrade” and pay over $100.00 which I did since it’s my daughter’s birthday. This is the third time I buy this picture package, but is the first time they make me pay an “upgrade”. I would never recommend this location. After they made me feel extremely uncomfortable, the photographer was trying to be nice by trying to “get me something free, cheaper, or any discount” which I did not like; they made me feel like if I was getting something for free, or if I was not welcome. They need to be sent to willowbrook location to be trained. Extremely bad customer service!!!!

Most of the store was neatly arranged, with a good selection. But the men's room was in utterly deplorable condition; the urinals were both out of service (and looked like they had been for some time) the stalls were...well, the fewer details, the better...and the sink lacked both soap and paper towels.

JCpenny Newport mall! Excellent store as ALWAYS! NICELY ARRANGED and perfectly labeled ? all areas of the store sparkling clean! Outstanding Customer Service!! There is this lady at the checkout, her name is Maddy, she is THE BEST! Patient and courteous! She makes the checkout experience seemles ? , I dint catch her name until today... This JCPenney outlet is in the Newport Center Mall. This shop is mostly like Kohl's and Macy where you get all home decor, clothing, kitchen appliances and electronics. Even though it has a lot of options it is slightly expensive then the others.

The store is part of the Newport Centre and it's well organized and clean. They seem to be very understaff as there is very little help around. They offer in-store pick up but they only have two staff members picking the order, helping customers with orders, and also doing returns. There's nothing express about this, might be faster to just find the items yourself and try to checkout. This is my first time in a JcPenny in years, very nostalgic. use to come here as a child with mom. A lot of things still look pretty much the same. A lot of things here seem very affordable. and the staff member that eventually helped me a very friendly.

There is a better chance of finding a unicorn then an employee to help. If you do happen to find something that you can't wait until tomorrow for and pay half the price for... Something you have to have right now... Be prepared to stand in line for it. Being a child of the 80s, I hate to see stores like this and shopping malls disappear but I certainly see why they are. I looked for the item I was shopping for without getting or even being able to find any help. Once I did find it and went in search of a place to pay for it which is also hard to find, I finally found a register with a long line and one cashier. Yes, I wanted it today but in a few clicks it will be here tomorrow and it cost less. Sorry guys, I know you're just waiting to die and I hate to see you go. Ps, kudos to the employees with the chin straps... I mean I could care less if employees wear face masks are not but it's hilarious to see sheep wearing it on their chin. Why even bother.

The store was really clean and organized. It was bright as well. This store is one of the anchor stores at the mall. Great location. Plenty of signage and sales. Helpful and friendly sales people as well.

Those two girls spent 20+mins in cashier discussing should they purchase online or should they purchase in store. They have no respect for other people’s time, who are also waiting in the line. The cashier gives 0 damn about how much time they spent there and makes 0 eye contact/communication to the crowd. When questioned why they are taking this long, those 2 girls told us “we are old customers, and if you don’t like it you can choose to leave”.
