Came into town for tracks meet over three weekends between January and February. Stayed here three times. The staff are not helpful and tried to get over on us during our third stay. The manager Jay( if that's his real name), told us we were booked for a king room. I told him that was a mistake and we needed a double queen room as it was four of us(two kids and two adults). He proceeds to tell me that they had a double room available, however, it would be an additional $190. I asked why would it be an additional $190, he says they do not set the price, however, he could give us the double for an addition $100. I told him I just stayed the week prior in a double and paid $134, which is the same price it was for the king room they were giving us. He then tries to say it was due to it being a weekend. I reminded him that I stayed just last weekend. He tries to tell me I didn't stay and the only reservation I had there was back in January. I kindly showed him the reservation and the price I paid for the one night. He then says I can offer the double for an additional $100. Mind you he told me that they didn't set the price but tried to barter with me. Definitely won't get my business ever again. I've never know a holiday in charge almost $300 for one night that's in the middle a dump of a neighborhood. And he never acknowledged that he was wrong about my reservation the weekend, which I called him out on. Rooms are dusty, floors have not been cleaned, and has mold around the tube area. The sink was clogged and took more than 5 minutes to drain.

Stayed here on Feb 27. Front desk (Isa) who checked us in and Front desk (kalyan) at the time of checkout were very polite, humble and respectful. Both had courtesy and welcoming hospitality. I would recommend this hotel to people who come and stay with families because staff is really good.

We stayed with our tennis team, it was a blast. The front desk was punctual and I liked the breakfast. I will be coming back soon for future matches.

The stay was great, it’s in good location which is close to EWR airport and Manhattan. Staff were very helpful

I really don’t post reviews very often, but I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! We checked in, and the staff were so nice. The lobby was clean, quiet, and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfy, and the bathroom was very nice, I loved the five products and the shower pressure was pretty good. I was incredibly impressed by the breakfast. There were a decent amount of options, and all the food was SO GOOD. You could tell that it was all homemade and fresh with good ingredients. If I had one complaint it would be that there was a lot of noise around midnight when some children were running in the hallway, but I know that is not the hotel’s fault. This was a great stay!

Stay far away from this hotel. The rooms are okay but all other services quite horrible. Check in - we arrived at 1am but was kept up until 4am until they finally figured things out. We offered to pay more just for us to go in and sleep, didnt work Check out - hold limit of 2 bags per room? Really guys? How low has holiday inn gone

THIS HOTEL COMMITS CREDIT CARD FRAUD, I HAD TO CALL POLICE ON THEM. They charged me a $100 incidental hold on my card that never dropped off for over a month. When I called to fix it, the employee claimed it was refunded, I told her I called my bank twice and they confirmed they did not remove it. She told me to call my bank again, I said I'll just file a dispute for the $100 because I don't want to go back and forth between them and the bank. THIS EVIL LADY then charges my card another $100 fraudulently. Her excuse? She said she charged me because I "was going to file the dispute". She then refused to give her name and kept hanging up. I ultimately had to bring police to the hotel and file credit card fraud charges to get my money back. Absolutely unacceptable—watch your card charges if you stay here.

Terrible service, they take the customer's deposit and don't return it. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They deserve zero stars. Stay away if you don't want to lose your money and ruin your vacation.

First the shades in the room were broken as well as the sink stopper. The little convenience table was so off filter you couldn't put anything on it or it would slide off onto the floor. I had 4 nights reserved, M-F. My CC was charged $100.00 for incidentals, when I asked what incidentals, they said in case I broke anything. Total BS, then the very next day on Wednesday they charged the full price for my room, I still had two nights before checkout. I've been traveling weekly for more than 30 years and this is the first time I have ever seen anything like this. There was a fight in the lobby between a customer and the clerk over the same thing. This hotel is shady, I would not stay there.

Early check in at 3am you must be kidding for $75 extra. Let me just make it straight at 3am. I think the receptionist was just putting it into her pocket. So she said Room is $230 smth but the we charge you $75 early check in, so total is $330 smth when prices online $140….ok I was like excuse me… we’re not in Manhattan…good luck The most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in nj. You’re wild…!!!! We left because of incompetent receptionist

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you’re a tourist this is not a good location for you. You will have zero easy access to transportation. They love to say they are close. They aren’t. We had an AWFUL experience with this hotel regarding the need for two cribs. We currently have two foster babies that must be separated (per rules) into their own individual crib. I included this request in October when I made the reservation. I called Dec 21st to verify this would not be a problem bc I did not want to run into any problems when we arrived. I was told it would be fine. We arrive and get ONE crib. Mind you, it is Christmas Day. No access to anywhere we could even find something to hold us over for the night bc places were closed for the holiday. We were really put out and I am beyond angry that this hotel has not taken any accountability. We could have easily changed our hotel stay if they had just been honest from the get go. I currently have been charged the full Price of our stay which is almost $2500.00. Beware if you cancel they will NOT STICK to their own booking policy. Their booking policy states if you cancel you will be charged for the first night. As of right now, we have been charged for ALL of it. Read that again…ALL of it. We ended up losing a whole day of our vacation for having to load up our whole family and find a property able and willing to accommodate both of our babies, our two bio kids, and my husband and myself. The management needs a lesson on professionalism and accountability. Not one apology for putting our family through this. No interpersonal communication skills. Loved to talk but didn’t love to listen. Hung up on me multiple times and then would call me right back. She was off her rocker! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Take your money to a property who cares about their patrons. Find somewhere who will listen to your concerns and be eager to help where they can. This place lies and steals. And the management is the poorest of poor.

Family trip that needed comfort, value, and a bit of calm—and this hotel delivered. We stayed at Holiday Inn Express Jersey City North Hoboken with kids and had a pleasant, hassle-free experience. The location worked really well for us: close enough to NYC for sightseeing, yet far from the constant noise and rush. The hotel felt safe, clean, and family-friendly, and the overall stay was comfortable and affordable. Some quick notes for others: * Great location, easy access to NYC but away from the chaos * Good connectivity to NYC if you have your own car, but if you are dependent on public transport please do check the walking distance from bus or train station to plan better especially if you are travelling during winter. * Affordable pricing for the area * Clean rooms, hallways, and common areas * Front desk staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with questions * Free parking on site, which is a big plus * Gas station and convenience stores nearby for last-minute needs * Comfortable beds and quiet rooms * Free breakfast with hot and cold options * Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel * Fitness center available * 24-hour front desk support Overall, a solid Holiday Inn Express experience. Would happily stay again with family.

I would like to share my experience when my wife(71 yo) and I (73yo) checked in last dec 11, 2025. The front office was so rude. She was a middle aged woman named Sonia. She should Not be in the hospitality business. i reacted to her rudeness as she ordered me to sit down. I requested for an early check and we have been. Told to wait until 1:30 if she could accommodate us. ( we were there since 11 am.). At about 1:30 pm my wife stood up and went to the front desk ask her if our request could be granted. she talked to housekeeping on the radio. After the call, she didn't give me us a feedback and instead, she ORDERED me to sit down while she talked to another guest. That rudeness was uncalled for. She could have just just given me a feedback politely and I would have sat down.

This is a nice clean hotel. The rooms were modern and up to date. The breakfast was ok with lots to choose from. The exercise room was big and the equipment was in great condition. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The only negative thing about this hotel is it is difficult to get to coming from the Hoboken Train Station.

I stayed here with my family just for one night to enjoy NYC and have a close place to sleep after exploring the city. My son left his Nintendo switch 2 the morning of checkout in the bed. I called the very same day as check out to see if it was found. Guest services was extremely rude and not helpful at all leading to him hanging up on me mid conversation. I called back the next day and now they couldn’t even find my reservation or proof of stay. These people are thief’s!!! DO NOT STAY HEREEEE!!!!!

front desk employee is the worst I've ever seen. He is the character. He refused to give us extra blanket I don't know why. Behave people are protesting against you guys in Australia,European countries and others.

Spacious and well kept rooms for the price. Good breakfast spread and daily room service. They also have complimentary personal items in case you forget to get yours.

The lady at the front desk doesn’t want to help you get your money back off the refund. I understand you have a third party service. However if you as the merchant who receives the money doesn’t have any control over what’s going on, how am I to trust to come back to the holiday Inn when the woman at the front desk doesn’t value the consumer? Tell her to control her attitude.

The hotel has clean rooms, service is friendly and breakfasr ok, the lower rating only due to the location. If you stay here to visit NY, it's a 1 1/2 h ride with public transport and several changes. Or a 50 - 60 dollar Uber ride. And there is nothing of interest around the hotel.

Very upset and disappointed with this hotel. I stayed at the hotel from the 24th-26th September. The hotel was notified beforehand and accepted that I would be receiving a parcel on the 25th.Unfortunately FEDEX never delivered the parcel on time, and it was delivered and accepted by reception on the 29th. When I checked out I informed staff to hold the package for me as I would be flying out to New York from the UK. They agreed and stated they would hold it for me. For the past 2 weeks I have phoned the hotel and even left numerous emails. Everytime I phoned nobody picked up or when they did I was placed on hold for a ridiculous amount of time and disconnected. I eventually got through to a member of staff who went to check and surprise surprise the parcel is not there. I asked to speak to a manager and supervisor and she claimed that there was no management around. I asked for an email and telephone number to speak to Head Office to make a complaint and she disconnected the call. She seemed to struggle with what I was saying and her English was not very clear. I am extremely disappointed as I was due to fly back and was prepared to book this hotel. The question is where is my parcel and what have the staff done with it? When they knew I was coming back to New York. What hurts the most was that the package was for a dear family member who is extremely sick. I’m not happy about this and I want to take this further

Great customer service , clean rooms, good room service , close to everything yes there is traffic but that’s New York for you , we had a very clean and nice room , view was tracks but we were not here to sit in the room so worked great. All in all great hotel to book for trip to jersey or New York, morning breakfast had a lot of variety of food. Definitely will book again.

We booked this room based on a LIE that the hotel is in close proximity to public transportation, specifically the train. The train is actually over a mile and half, on an extremely busy highway, in a trashy area without sidewalks. The hotel refused to refund us (despite bragging they stay fully booked each and every day). They proceeded to tell us they do not claim the public transportation is within walking distance. Why else would you use public transportation? They suggested that we UBER to public transportation. Please do not stay here if you want access to New York. Pay the extra money and stay in New York. We not only would not stay here, but we will not be staying at any IHG since they treat their long-time customers like garbage!

Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price We did not have a good stay at this hotel. The fire alarm went off at 3 a.m., waking up all the guests and forcing everyone to evacuate. My two younger kids were very scared, and we had to stand outside for about 30 minutes. After returning to our room, it was difficult to fall back asleep. What was even more disappointing is that when we checked out, there was no acknowledgment of the incident—no apology, no explanation, and certainly no compensation. We paid nearly $400 for the night, and given the circumstances, I expected at least some effort to make things right. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.

I went here for a college trip so I only stayed for 2 days but I really enjoyed it. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The breakfast comes with many delicious options and the drinks are so tasty. The workers here are also very friendly. Would come back!!

The rooms were perfect, and most of the staff was amazing. Especially the night staff! They were very kind and accommodating. There are a couple of things I did not care for. First, the trash in the lobby would build up to a point that there were flys everywhere. Second, nothing can be charged to your room. Want a water? A small Dasani is $5 on your credit card or cash, period. Same thing with the snacks. It was just a very odd, old practice to not be able to charge to your room and I was traveling for work. It made my expenses super difficult to turn in. Third, if you need to extend they double the price, but not the service. I stayed for 5 days, then needed to extend for 4. They charged me over $300 a night with tax (previously, it was closer to $130). That's fine, get your bag, but if you are going to charge 4-5 star hotel prices, that's the service you should get, and it is NOT the service this hotel provides. Let me give you a good example. The entire week, I doordashed my food. I would wait in the lobby, grab my food, all was well. One particular Sunday, I had a headache and asked DoorDash to bring me my food to my room. Imagine my surprise when I get a phone call saying my DoorDasher is not allowed to come up, and I have to come get my food. So I go, get my food, and come back to my room. Ended up talking with the night staff, and they explained hotel policy is to not allow dashers to go to the rooms because "they could wander." Totally understand a safety concern, so I countered with, "and why couldn't your employee bring my food to me?" He mentioned that is ALSO against hotel policy, because what if they bring the wrong guest the food. You are telling me that you trust your front desk staff with my full name, address, birth date, and credit card details, but you do not trust them to walk up to my room (that they called) and give me my food? That literally makes no sense. Like I said, if I was paying $130 ish a night for the hotel, that's the service I would expect. But these people literally charged me $300 a night after my first 5 nights because I had to extend for work twice. Whats extra crazy is how often myself and my employees are at this property and its sister property. My company has probably spent 10k easy with their two properties in just a few months, and will continue to spend that for the next several months. That's just not how you treat guests that want to continue coming to your hotel. Shoutout to my nighttime guy though. He really did try to do what he could when he was there to make my experience amazing, I just wish the young lady during the day had the same work ethic.

The staffed here was helpful and nice! Lots of parking which is what I really was hoping for when booking a spot. They let me extend my stay as well and was super easy. The road outside of the hotel gets lots of traffic but I mainly used public transportation instead of driving myself so it wasn’t a big deal. Really enjoyed my stay here!

This hotel was great for our one night stay. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable and so many plugs for all our devices. Breakfast was fairly decent. Staff was friendly and arrentive!

I’m always expecting my stay to be 5 star. But this hotel wasn’t. The room was so cramped that the bed was 6 inches away from the heat and air conditioning unit. Water pressure for the shower was poor. We had the suite and it wasn’t very cramped. For the ladies only one mirror by the door. Kids running up and down the hallway sound proof was ok. One positive it had a clean smell when you walked in and the lady serving breakfast was very friendly.
