Not what we expected. Very few businesses were open and the few that were open were interesting and sales associates were great. Streets and sidewalks were not clean and some buildings needed to be torn down. Spent a little bit of time here and went back to the Hill.
What a waste of gas and time! Nothing great to see. The limited shops that were there were mostly closed... on Sat...mid day. Not many shops either....mainly run down buildings!
Since Covid the place has gone down hill. There are a few nice shops with great owners but the majority of the area looks run down and unsafe. It's a shame, I hope it makes a comeback.
Awesome place for a day outing, have lunch and pop into a few of the antique shops and see if you can find something you might not find anywhere else !
Cool collection of not only antiques but small shops and restaurants. The architecture is amazing and the neighborhood is safe and fun for all walks of life.
Cherokee street for antique shopping is great. This is where I would take people, not from St Louis to show them we have cool stuff. There are some antique shops on this street that have some nice things.
I was looking for something they didnt have. They were so helpful in guiding me to another shop that might have what I am looking for. GREAT FOLKS. THANK YOU.
Most shops listed are closed. We went on a Saturday morning & these are published on brochures at various hotels. Very historic, but shopping wise, were disappointed.
There were signs posted for Cherokee Antique Row so I know we were in the right place. However, it looks extremely rundown and did not seem like a safe part of town. There was almost nothing open, except for the weed shops, which seem to be every other store on the main road. We spent maybe 10 minutes walking down the street and looking through windows until we felt extremely uncomfortable and turned back to our car.
Back in 2003 got swindled from a lady that sold me a Brunton pocket transit for $60. Later researched that the 'antique looking' compass was a copy made in India worth $5.
I live above a antique shop and i really love the neighborhood and the diversity it brings in. Theres always something to do here! My only complaint is not really a complaint as this is saint louis but at night it can feel unsafe at times with drunk men coming from the bars walking down the street at early morning hours, which hasnt been a issue lately because of covid.
It was a nice way to spend part of the day. We enjoyed looking through the shops. We had to go to the coffee shop for the restroom. We didn’t actually find anything to buy but I suppose we were mostly just looking. The dress shops were really fun if you are in the market.
Very fun place to spend a Saturday morning. Antique row offers a variety of antique shops that have a wide range of items you may be looking for. There are also cool places to eat breakfast/brunch or grab a cup of coffee or baked good (The Mud House, Cheshire grin Cat Cafe, and Whisk) before heading out to browse through the various unique antique shop!
It's a very eclectic place, lots of different kinds of shops and food places. However the antique stores seemed in shorter supply than I expected. Also, there wasn't much open on Sunday, so you might want to come on Saturday.
Lots of great little shops with art and antiques even records and vintage clothing. Really clean neighborhood and friendly shop owners. A little something for everyone's taste and lots of good restaurants just up the street take some time to walk and check out all the shops and grab an ice cream cone.
The shops are great the local restaurants are wonderful, the crime in the area needs to be addressed and removed! It is my hope the more we frequent this area and bring funds into it that the crime can then be dealt with once and for all.
Cherokee row is not a store it's lots of store s and restaurants an but a five block run in older part of town spent day walking stores lots of good food parking mostly on street with meters everyone friendly and welcoming believe there is in thing going memorial Day closing street with vendors and other stuff great way to spend a day
Lots to look at and the shop owners are ready to make deals. My only issue was a lot of the shops had business hours posted on the door but, they were not open during their business hours. Restaurants to stop in and cozy places to have a beer or cocktail.
You can run across some great finds but the prices always seem to be much higher than other antique stores in the St. Louis area. Fun street to explore.
