Bought a trunk lid from them, and the experience was decent overall. Everyone I spoke with was super nice and helpful.
The only issue I had was with the condition of the part. Online, it was listed as “000,” meaning no damage anywhere. In reality, the part had quite a bit of damage along the rear lip where it meets the glass. It looks like someone slid the part across something without any protection underneath, whatever happened, it went all the way through the paint and chewed up the actual metal. There’s also a couple deep scratches on the top of the lid, both the corners where the lid meets the quarters had the paint scraped off down to the metal, and there's a dime sized dent that's fairly noticeable from a low angle.
Overall, it’s still a usable part after some work, but definitely not "undamaged" as described. Don’t make the same mistake I did, double-check the condition before you drive away, or you’ll end up in touch-up pen purgatory. On the plus side, I saved a bunch of money buying local and picking it up rather than having one freighted :)
Edit: They refunded me 25% of my purchase for the issues I mentioned.
Was looking for a 5.7 vortec and a bumper cover for my 2013 Hyundai veloster turbo, They didn’t have the engine but let me know where to look for the cover and even offered to order one. Very nice people and great customer service would buy from them!

We have been dealing with Modern Imports for a long time now. The parts are good and they come with a guarantee. The people are really nice and have always been helpful in getting us what we need.
If I could rate this business 0 I would. These people are Callous and poor business individuals. BEWARE OF MODERN IMPORTS!
I purchased a 6.2l Vin 2 engine. Was not able to have engine installed immediately due to Mechanics schedule. I licensed the vehicle at the end of April. The vehicle began to make a rattling noise with a sulfer odor. I thought the Catalytic Converter was bad so I ordered brand new Cats. Upon installing the Cats I tried starting the vehicle up. Long story short the engine locked up.
Called Modern Imports and they first said we will get you going after the vehicle was inspected by their warranty guy. On Monday I was informed the by the service guy that it's a Mook Point. As classes as he could inform me....I was told that the warranty was up!!!! It was a 90 day warranty and I believe I was at 120 days. I spent $3200.00 for the engine. It was installed by a 40 year mechanic.
I thought the days of Shabby businesses was over. I WILL NEVER BY ANYTHING FROM MODERN IMPORTS.....VERY CLASSLESS OPERATION. I RECOMMEND THAT THE SERVICE WRITER GET SOME TRAINING IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
Finally, you reap what you sow. Things will catch up with shabby business operations.
The motor you guys sold me was stripped down of all parts, Anyone in the business know you guys will not sell motors without stripping them down. NICE TRY.

FINALLY, there was no reason for your company holding on to a customers core if the original bad motor was delivered back to you guys the same way the engine i purchased from you.

They stated they could order the part we needed and gave an ETA, I called in to make sure the ETA was still accurate and got the runaround about shipping and the part would be almost a week later and not their problem...the female we spoke to was rude and wouldn't help...the gentleman I ordered the parts from called back and stated she was wrong, but we couldn't take the chance ... we use to deal with modern for years but they seem to have lost their customer service...we found the part somewhere else and had it same day... unfortunately, we will no longer do business with modern in the future due to previous issues with ETA problems, this was just the last time
Needed specific parts in black and they found them all in less than a week. Great quality and fit as they should. Saved thousands over buying aftermarket and having to paint them. Only downside is they don't deliver.
Melissa was extremely condescending and offered me a price of $165 for a used tail light to a ubiquitous model of car. I can buy a new one for $50 or $60 bucks. Save you're money for sone place that understands pricing and customer service.
I swear by this place. Love the employees the one thing I could say is the street has glass everywhere and there's not alot of Parking. But they will get you taken care of....

I ordered a headlight they give me a wrong one. I give them all the information for my vehicle after one week I back to them. I tell them this is a wrong headlight and I was working with Melissa bad person all time when I work with her she give me trouble, and she give me a wrong item, when I try to returned it, she tell me this headlight has some water. It is already junk. We cannot return it I don’t recommend you guys to work with her never.

None of the "pull your own parts" salvage yards in the St. Louis area had the headlight assembly I was looking for. But these guys did, and at a reasonable price. Both gentlemen that helped me were friendly and professional. I've used them for a number years and they've always been a good resource. I give them my business whenever I can, unfortunately I don't live close.
I see some good reviews, but I will explain mine I own a shop in Lincoln Nebraska and have for over 20 years this was my first purchase with them Ricky was the salesperson after receiving the transmission and installing it, it wouldn’t shift or display any gear select, after removing it again and speaking with Ricky he said a adjuster would call within an hour, 4 days later I called him back and he said oh wow okay I’ll just work on the refund and don’t worry about shipping it back it wasn’t worth it, so 7 days pass no refund call again talk to Ricky again he said they got a new credit card system and it would be there by Friday, again another week past no refund or call so I call him a third time Ricky now states his manager has been gone and he is back now and it would be issued that day it’s now over 6 weeks and I have no refund a customers car I had to eat the 500.00 I paid to Modern Imports for the faulty transmission turns out a pin had been corroded and broke off at the transmission module in the transmission so it needed a new module
I spoke to Ricky on more than enough occasions and as a professional I would have expected more from a business, update so it isn’t unusual for miscommunication within a company to happen and this was a perfect example simple miscommunication so I’d like to apologize and also thank the team at Modern Import for there swift action into my matter, thank you again and very much so your staff handled this very professionally, I’ll be looking forward to future business, the issue was a pin on the module we purchased looked to have been corroded off and couldn’t be programmed one of the reasons we where replacing the transmission bad control module but again thank you kindly
They are extremely amazing. I bought parts very cheap and they delivered it for me for FREE. My sales man was so nice and understanding. I even had to change my mind about delivering twice and he was cool about it. Every part I buy henceforth is going to be with them
I used their online chat feature to inquire about a used infotainment unit for our car. Jason worked very hard for me to be sure they had the correct unit for us. They packaged it appropriately for shipping and got it to us quickly. We installed the unit and everything is working great. Grant was great! Had an issue locating the Mazda engine I originally wanted from them. Offered me a great deal on another engine they located on the yard. Drove 2 hours one way because of the excellent customer service and i will be using them in any of my future needs. GREAT FIRST EXPERIENCE!!!!!!
Would be zero stars if I could. If you are a business, shop your parts elsewhere. They'll deliver damaged goods and then refuse to pick them up for return. Instead they'll give you a smart-ass reply about it being your responsibility to haul their crap back to them if you expect a refund. Make the sound business decision and give these fools a wide berth. Addendum following "response from owner": The delivery drivers drop the parts and run, so there is plenty of question about a part's usability. As for scheduling pick up: after numerous telephone and email requests met by all manner of snarky comments, I have a part that still hasn't been picked up. They've managed to drag this out to within a few days of the 30-day return window closing. Coincidence? Hardly. This is their business model. Be advised.
This was the ABSOLUTE WORST consumer experience ever. My fiance purchased a transmission from Modern Imports for a 2006 Audi a6 and the part DID NOT WORK! Thank God we purchased the warranty and are able to get our money back! But unfortunately we had to travel over 400 miles to make the purchase and return it! With the exception of the polite attitudes of our sales rep I would rate this business interaction a complete FLOP! We weren't offered reimbursement for traveling expense or compensated in any way for all our trouble! Not to mention the cost of labor for having the unit installed AND removed then discovering it was in worse condition than the one we originally had!!! ugh!!! Talk about a disheartening AND costly situation! At this point I am just thankful there was no hassle with our refund! BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
