I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding damage to my vehicle (2014, Mercedes Benz ML350) after it was towed by your company on 10/02/2025. When I picked up my car on 10/03/2025, I immediately noticed issues that were not present before: -Vehicle sensors are malfunctioning -Doors are not locking/unlocking properly -Rearview mirrors no longer fold as usual I believe these problems occurred during the towing process. Please advise on how you will resolve this matter. I am requesting an inspection and compensation for the damages caused. Which shows that my car was either damaged or tampered with during the process. I want to make it clear that I will also be filing a lawsuit for having my car searched without my consent and for the damages caused to my vehicle. This situation is unacceptable, and I expect accountability for the harm done. If Viertels Tow Company ever tows your car, record everything. My car was towed after I was arrested, and when I picked it up the mirrors were folded and there was damage. The driver denied any responsibility. I submitted a complaint the same day of pick up, but they never did anything about it, no response, no follow-up, nothing. It shows how little they care about how they handle people’s cars. So here’s my advice: 1. Take videos and pictures before and after the tow. 2. Inspect your vehicle carefully before leaving their lot. 3. Don’t let them rush you or refuse to document damage. People deserve accountability, not excuses. Viertels Tow Company clearly doesn’t care about that.

I figure most of these tow lots get bad reviews because the situation naturally sucks. I must, however, shout out Ivan, who helped me out at the cashier desk this week. I stupidly left something very important bag in a Lime bike basket after I rushed in to recover my towed vehicle. I called shortly after leaving and he went out to check if I indeed had left the bag in the bike outside their premises. Miraculously, it was still there. Ivan grabbed it for me and agreed to hold it overnight until I could return. When I came to get it the next morning (only 12 hours later), he was back in the office to hand it back to me. Perfectly intact, and nothing was missing. This was a massive silver lining an otherwise terrible afternoon. Ivan, thank you again for lending a helping hand. Service not listed: going well above and beyond one's job description.

This is one of the worst tow lots in all of California rude and disrespectful. They steal from your car in the their lot as soon as your car gets there and disrespect your privacy as well. I had my car impounded on a Tuesday, went to go pick it up Wednesday morning with multiple items stolen from within my car. Then I asked about it and they were rude and hung up the phone on me without an Answer! This tow garage steals from you! Do not go to this garage or don’t be towed by them.

Arrived at 7:02pm to get my disabled father’s vehicle out of the tow yard. They were blocking the only disabled parking spot with one of the tow trucks, which was also blocking the disabled access sign and button that someone in a wheelchair could not possibly get to due to this. They had no ramp and all of this made it difficult for my father. Who, again, arrived at 7:02pm and despite all of these inconveniences was told that since it was after 7pm they would not help him. He is 75, has mental health issues, and is in a wheelchair. When they refused him service, he began to cry. They did not care. They could’ve helped him. They chose not to. Miguel was especially rude. Now we will be pursuing legal action against them for violating ADA requirements. This company should lose its contract with the city of Los Angeles. All of this could’ve been avoided if they just had some compassion for an elderly man who needed an extra 2 minutes to exit his ADA Uber from the street, since they were blocking the ADA parking spot.

Not a fan of the employees because they are intimidating. My car was impounded at Griffith Park and initially I couldn't get it back because the registration was under my family member's name. There was an older lady at the front desk who was very intimidating and annoyed when asking questions about my vehicle. The next day I brought my family member and my vehicle title and there was a male employee who was less intimidating. We were charged $376 total and in a matter of minutes I had the car back perfectly intact with nothing taken inside. Still not very happy about the experience as I felt like they were on a power trip but at least my car is back and they didn't cause any problems in the process.

I can make my peace with paying exhorbitant prices to get my car out of impound. But the fact that I called ahead of time just for me to arrive ahead of time and have them hand me a slip with the address of where the car is being kept (in an entirely different area) is insane

Terrible experience – careless damage and zero accountability I picked up my car yesterday only to find it had been damaged during the tow. The handling was clearly rough and careless. When I brought this up with the manager, Al, I expected some kind of professionalism—but instead, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior. Without even looking at any evidence, he told me it wasn’t their fault. I guess he didn’t need facts—just a crystal ball. When I asked what steps I should take to resolve the issue, his response was simply, “sue us.” That says everything about how this company operates. It’s crazy that the City of LA actually uses them. If you’re going to run a business that directly impacts people’s lives, the bare minimum is to do the job properly and own up to your mistakes. They failed on both fronts.

I'll make this quick and simple because I know you need to get your car back so badly 🤙🏽 ‼️‼️Bring your valid ID and car registration ‼️‼️ If you have in your car, good 👍🏽 Smiling is a crime in this place 🤣 but please understand. Let's get rollin'! Vroom! Vroom!

My car was impounded and I had left my phone in there it was brand new. I had just bought it 3 months. They claimed someone had broken into the impound and took it, but that's a lie. Either people from the impound takes the stuff from the cars or the police keeps them!

I say this not because they had bad customer service. I think the employees did an amazing job at 2010 Figueroa.oys where they left my 2004 Acura MDX up the street the overflow. When I picked it up the passenger back door wasn't closed completely and it was unlocked. Someone who worked there or someone who could easily get over the fence got in my car and took A lot of stuff. They must have been a 33 34 jeans size and and Large 13 size for shoes. Also: A Battery Jumper plus phone charger.$129.00 paid by me A full 3/4 socket set Full 1/4 in sockes set Milwalkeee channel lock pliers pipe wrench. Multimeter and separate battery tester. Outlet tester othet tools and axcesories and i know this because I was at a job and amd had loaded these and othrt items shortly before it was taken and it was left in complete order. So take tons of pictures if you are present for the tow. Mine was taken on a Sunday for expired Tags. If you or anyone you know including felllow employees had someone there try.to sell you any of the items listed , call the police to have them arrested because u were sold stolen property. So no something is wrong when hundreds of cars are left outside in the with doors unlocks But obviously they don't care enough about your car to make sure first of all the place isn't able to be easily gotten into or secondly they have employees that are allowed to go in and out without any security checks on them so they can carry stuff out like all the stuff I lost. I talked to people in line that claimed that every time their cars go there the same thing happens it's either damage their stuff gets taken out. I can only speak foe me . We are mostly ordinary peoplne with bad tags andl this to be normal, we shouldnbe concerned

The worst service ever, they opened my daughter’s and obviously they were looking for something to take it with them because the compartments in the car were open and there were things all over the place. Besides, there was no reason or any need to open the car to tow it! Be careful with this company. You are warned.

Charged me approximately $300 to recover my stolen motorcycle when it was only stored for a matter of hours. Wouldn’t let me turn on the ignition to determine whether the motorcycle was still operable before paying the fee.

Scam establishment filled with miserable on edge employees. I had a very disappointing experience at the 704 N Mission Rd Location. First, the pricing structure is highly questionable. I was told the fee was $332 for the first 24 hours and $55 for each additional day. My vehicle was impounded on the 11th at 6:53 PM, and I arrived to pick it up on the 13th at 11:00 AM. Since the lot closes at 7 PM, they should not charge for a full day on the 12th. Despite this, they insisted on charging for the extra day, which felt like a scam. Additionally, they required me to show proof of registration to release the vehicle. Based on my research, this is not a lawful requirement in California. State law specifies that a valid driver’s license and evidence of ownership, such as the title or insurance documents, should suffice. Imposing unnecessary obstacles seems like a tactic to discourage people from retrieving their vehicles quickly, racking up additional fees. Overall, the lack of transparency, coupled with what appears to be unfair and possibly unlawful practices, made this a frustrating ordeal. I wouldn’t recommend this impound lot and urge anyone dealing with them to document everything carefully and be prepared to escalate disputes. Also to, be careful parking downtown because if you are, your car will likely end up in their impound lot.

My car was towed by this company and they damaged the frame of my vehicle. I’ve only had this car for two years and am still paying it off. The level of stress this company has brought into my life is ridiculous. It is unbelievable that this place is used by the city of Los Angeles. In my opinion they shouldn’t be aloud to operate.

I Just want to give a shout out to the guy at the front desk! ( I forgot his name.) But he knows who he is.. From the very first phone call to retrieve my son’s stolen truck He was patient, I had all the wrong info, and he helped us out thru the whole process. Not one time did he get agitated. Like so many other Tow CO’s they will shut you down the 1st thing that don’t go there way. He even stayed after to get us on our way with the truck. He could have very well had us come back the next day another day of storage. He Didn’t!! I want to Thank Him very much for this. My Son had already lost hope in his truck. He’s proof that not all humans are A holes. He restored my faith in human. Thank You

Probably the worst towing yard/company in Los Angeles. They will do everything in their power to ensure you don’t get your vehicle back so they can sell it. Horrible customer service from the older lady who is the manager. Very ugly personality, feel bad for the people who work with her on a daily basis. Why he so miserable towards other people let alone customers? I don’t know what’s going on in her life working there, but no need to take that out on customers. Worst customer service I’ve received in life was from her. They will lie in an attempt to get you to pay as much as possible. No need to take my word for it, you will see if you’re ever unlucky enough you have to deal with them.

Would give this place negative stars if I could. Ruined the leaf springs on my motorhome, towed my rv with my wife in it, and charged 700$ to steal it from me for one night. I could have moved it but they wouldnt let me and wouldnt drop it either when i offered to pay a drop fee. Crooks for real.

Business hours to pick up vehicle 7-7 Monday -Friday 8-5 weekends & holidays Need current registration or title & valid ID to pick up vehicle Be aware your car might not be at this address this is the main office for payments & pass making to the lot where your vehicle is so arrive with time to get to the other lot before closure they all have the same hours. Also payment has to be present

Had the pleasure of working with Omar while he pulled a Chevy Cruze off the train tracks. Google maps routed the car the wrong direction, but Omar knew the right direction to get the car out. His work was beyond impressive! Everybody including myself said it couldn't be done, but Omar knew how to hit the spot just right. If my car were to get towed or impounded, I for sure wouldn't mind having Omar being the tow operator.

Bought me an RV for 100 bucks , quick n easy . Sold it to a homeless friend for the same. Now he is off the sidewalk. Now if only Los Angeles would make designated RV parking centers maybe our sidewalks would be less cluttered. Sure beats paying 75k or more for tiny houses .

These guys are the absolute worst. This isn’t an honest business simply put. They will use everything in their power to make it as hard as possible and as long of a wait as possible for you to get basic tasks done. I truly feel bad for some of the employees I dealt with there, I was upset and so were most of the clients there that day. Truly almost working anywhere is better than this.

I was stranded on the i5&110 i was blocking traffic , thankfully chp got there and gave this towing company a call to move me with a semi and trailer they moved me to a safe place near food and restrooms

This place does not need to operate as sluggishly as they do. Nobody wants to to interact with a tow yard, so it's pretty annoying when you get there and the people who are supposed to be helping you make it worse. I arrived with one person ahead of me. Once it was my turn I was hardly greeted at all by the lady working the window, and she kept dipping into the back room for reasons which were not made clear. I overheard several non-work related conversations between her and her co-workers while I was made to wait in the front room. She would come back to the front to answer the phone, then dip into the back room without making eye contact or offering to help me. 30 minutes had passed before she asked why I was there, and another 15 before she actually made herself available to assist me. All I needed was to get my aux cable and shoes out of my car. She made a quick call and gave me an adress to go to, which took about 5 minutes. And I had to wait wordlessly for 45 minutes just for that. Also can I just add that tow yards are borderline extortionate? They charge you a service you cannot refuse while they hold confiscated personal property as collateral. And on top of that the customer service sucks? C'mon LA, we can do better.

They broke into my trailer when it was impounded and cut my locks off they're a bunch of crooks. When it came time for auction people were able to open the doors and look inside so I sold it for a lot more money can I can afford to buy it back. Very poor business practice. Bad enough you have to pay to get something back. Then they got to rip you off not cool! Even the tenant in the yard explain the lock was on there the day before so I had to be inside job from an employee. I was shocked find my lock cut off at the morning of the auction. It's very crooked business

Avoid avoid avoid all of these tow yards and especially this part of LA cause i literally Got My Brand New Car stolen while I was across the street eating.. sad sad day

Over all nice staff and very clean. What i dont like is that after having your car stolen, found a week later and then towed to this place you still have to pay. Now i understand that they need to make their money but how about charging only the pick up fee when you are a victum of a crime and not the daily storage fee. I think that would be fair.

They towed my car with my car seats for my twins in it. Then said they close in three minutes so we couldn't pick up my car. We were stranded with two year old's near dark in downtown LA. No sympathy from the people on the phone. Going to see how there customer service is tomorrow when we pick it up. Will keep updating because that is pretty ruthless for women with children.
