Towed my car hate parking enforcement. Staff is so helpful they guided me through the phone so I got my car back in efficient way possible

A evil business that made us lose $420 and 4 hours of our lives. The previous night they place a sign on trees with a wire that prohibited parking “Sundays from 1am to 4pm”. They go with cranes at 5am to look for the poor fools who left their parked cars, take them while all the neighbor sleep. The next day we call you at 311, when after several hours you manage to communicate, they make you pay the fine of $420 near LAX airport. Once paid, they make you return to Marina del Rey, where your vehicle has kidnapped. They make you wait under the ray of the sun on the gate 30 minutes, until you can finally communicate with them to give you your car. A evil business!!!

The paint pen they used for my windshield was so tough that I had to use a metal wire brush to get it off. No Windex or soap and water would get the marker off. I thought it was a wax pen, but I think it was a straight up paint pen. I understand they need to mark the car, but it feels very disrespectful towards your property. People have worked very hard for their cars and even though it was towed that doesn't give them the right to vandalize your property. They should have removed it once it was paid out, but nope. Also like everyone else is saying is the 2 location thing. As green as Cali wants to go they sure make everyone drive all over the place wasting gas for nothing.

This place is a total joke. One of the most poorly run operations I’ve ever seen. Los Angeles should be ashamed for doing business with them.

Made me go to 2 separate places to get my car, a little difficult since you towed my car. When I got to the tow yard no one is here, but they are open. Had to wait outside for 30 minutes.

I don’t get how LA could approve of a business like Bruffys. Firstly, you have to pay at facility in Inglewood, then pick up your vehicle at a different location in Marina Del Ray.. WHY?! Secondly, it’s over a 2 hr wait at the 2nd location. It’s not like the place was busy, they had a good amount of workers; it’s because their communication with each other and overall parking system is INSANE!! There’s no place to sit, you’re just standing out in a parking lot, while 4 different people are asking what you’re there for. The workers were mostly nice, except for the first lady I spoke with on the phone, she was not nice.

My experience with Buffy’s Toy in Marina Del Rey was beyond frustrating—it was outright infuriating. From start to finish, they demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and basic customer service. After my car was towed, I called multiple times to get clear instructions on how to retrieve it. Instead of providing clear and straightforward guidance, they kept things vague, leaving me feeling confused and unsure about the process. When I finally arrived to get my car, I was met with condescension and blame. The service worker had the audacity to tell me that the reason I couldn’t get my car out sooner was because I “didn’t ask the right questions.” Let me be clear: it is not the customer’s job to figure out how to get the bare minimum of help. Their refusal to provide clear instructions, despite me calling multiple times to clarify the process, was not only unhelpful but borderline malicious. The worst part of the experience wasn’t even the fees—they were relatively average. What made this company truly unbearable was how they gaslit me into thinking the problem was somehow my fault. Rather than owning up to their poor communication and lack of transparency, they deflected blame and acted like I was the issue. The sheer lack of accountability and professionalism from this company was shocking and infuriating. Buffy’s Toy turns what is already a stressful experience into an absolute nightmare. Their attitude, incompetence, and refusal to provide even basic customer service make it clear that they don’t care about the people they’re supposed to be serving. If you’re unfortunate enough to deal with them, be prepared for frustration, gaslighting, and a complete lack of respect for your time and sanity. Avoid this company at all costs.

Shady business practices. At the time of tow, they damaged my car and then denied any responsibility. They say they took pictures of the car “before” towing, but they took pictures of the car after causing the damage, then claimed that damage was pre-existing. Don’t be surprised if this happens to you.

Those rude 15$ an hour employees think they are US president, and they walk and talk like they own the city. I feel sad for people like you guys. Do yourself a favor and make sure you never deal with them in any situation.

I didn’t know that The Hell opened a new location on Earth. So these guys are their representatives. You can’t pay nothing online. You have to go to one location for pay and go to DIFFERENT location to pick up car. I’m surprised. Great business, I hope they will shut down their location soon.

I had an extremely negative experience with this company. My car was towed just 10 minutes after the paid parking time expired. The entire process was extremely complicated and frustrating. First, I had to take an Uber for an hour to pay the fine, and then another 40 minutes to a different location to pick up my car. In addition to the fine, there were extra costs of $100. The whole ordeal was pure harassment and absolutely pointless! The staff was also unfriendly and unhelpful. Absolutely not customer-friendly!

I was really frustrated that my car was towed and I had to go two different locations to get my car, one is the payment office, the other is where the cars were impounded. I did wait an hour outside waiting for them to come but the reason I’m giving them 4 starts is because they were really nice trying help me get my car and were doing the best they can. They were very apologetic about me waiting an hour for my car and treated me with respect as I treated them with respect. End of the day they’re just doing their jobs as we do ourselves to pay bills.

Considering the circumstances, I was there to retrieve personal items from a recovered stolen vehicle, the staff at Bruffy's tow are great and understanding. They let me take my time retrieving items left in my car. Very professional and courteous

These people are complete scum, and I don’t know how their ratings aren’t even lower. Buckle up and listen to this story. My car was towed, and I had one percent left on my phone to Uber to the address they provided on their signs where I was towed from. When I got there, it took probably 15 minutes for someone to come out and acknowledge me. “What do you want” the guy said. I said that I was here to pick up my car that they towed. “Do you have your paperwork?”. I didn’t know what he meant by that, and he then told me I had to go to a different address to pay for the tow, which was like 30 minutes away from them. (I mean…. If that’s not wild to you, I don’t know what to say.) Since my phone was dead and I didn’t have a car, I had no way of getting to the other address on the other side of town to pay. I asked politely if I could use their phone to call a cab, and the guy just said “No.” and walked away. Just complete scum. I was left on the side of the curb, just hoping a stranger would let me borrow their phone to call a cab. After about another 30 minutes of sitting on the curb, a stranger finally came walking by and let me use his phone. The cab fare was 60 bucks each way to get to “the place to pay”. Just an unreal experience, and a staff that’s just complete scum.

Poor customer service zero help!!!! This place does not provide proper information or customer service. I talked to the front desk representative in person! She never mentioned, i had to go the Airport police to get a written release. I still couldn't get my car because they took forever at the police station. I realized they are all working together. They are charging me another day at the tow yard. I'm going to report this place. They towed my car from the airport.

Front customer service is one of, if not, the worst customer service representative in Los Angeles. Upon refusal on the phone to offer a “correct” way to pay for service, after arriving to Bruffy’s I was told that I was not able to pay, and then I was lied to about “I told you on the phone” when I was not told about proper payment methods. This place is a scam and will hold your car for as long as possible for the day to day fees, avoid at all costs and report to California Labor Department.

terrible customer service! We are not from here. There were about 8 of them in the office. 1 woman and 7 men ish (all Mexican). Passively aggressive and extremely expensive. The men were cussing in the background and were making fun of the people coming in Spanish. Terrible people. Would not recommend. Department of Transportation for the City of Los Angeles needs to conduct an AUDIT!!!

Horrible customer service, not to mention the fact that I had to drive to a Pay location before I could actually go pick up my car. on top of that, I had to wait for someone to unlock the gate where my car was for well over 30 minutes. The tow truck, driver, who unlocked the gate was also extremely aggressive and threatening.

extremely expensive overpriced tow. horrible rude customer service. they make you go to two locations- first to pay and then a second location 20 minutes away to pick up your car (like bro how am i supposed to get there). ended up calling 2 separate ubers $70+ in addition to the $330 tow

They're up to something. They "towed" my BMW & a person who lived on the street I was parked, (which btw had no parking enforcement signs), asked the tow truck driver who's towing it and the driver gave him bruffys card and said it was 100% a bruffys tow truck. When I called they said they lied and said they didn't have it. I called again and they said I needed to know my VIN NUMBER to even have them look for it. The paperwork was in the car along with everything else I owned. Who the heck knows their VIN number? Nobody. Anyways. I never got it back. They also sold me an RV at an auction, and the owner pulled up a week after me owning it and said it was towed 2 years ago FROM HIS DRIVEWAY, AND THAT BRUFFYS SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE IT TO HIM AS WELL. He let me keep it but that was way shady.

Service there is somewhat of a joke minus the 1 employee that was most helpful to me. Pricing is a bit higher than expected but better than what some actually end up paying. Didn't get my van back though. ?

I needed a jumpstart on my semi at the airport this morning . I called Bruffy’s first thing this morning and within a half hour a service tech showed up and got me going at a reasonable price. I wanna add that the service tech was very courteous,helpful, and patient. Thank you

BEWARE! This place is definitely doing some shady business. They allowed someone to come and pick up my vehicle with fraudulent documents making it seem as if he is the owner of the vehicle. What makes this worse is someone who works here had to have given the thief the information so he can go obtain the “documents” for my car. I will definitely be contacting my lawyer in regards to this matter

Luckily I can pay with time and money but it’s absurd to me that Bruffy’s has multiple locations to tow but you can only pay in one location (far from the other yards)! If someone had their car towed and use that to make money, imagine having to cab or bus or Uber to an entirely different location to pay and then do it again to go get your car. Completely unjustified and unnecessarily punitive, and it’s just wrong

I paid everything in full. Was always respectful when I spoke to all the staff. The staff at the 11101 Hindry Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90045 told me that I could pick up my vehicle anytime before midnight and there would be someone there to assist me to get my vehicle out at 4130 Glencoe Ave, Marina Del Ray 90292. When I got there at 10pm, the person on the phone said they were understaffed and their one and only driver was out on a call and there was no one else that could help me for an hour. So I'm standing outside right now waiting for someone to let me in and get my vehicle. Isn't this a security violation having people that PAID for their impound fees just stand outside at night for an hour to get their vehicle back when they are suppose to have someone at the site 24/7??? Also the person on the phone wouldn't give me the driver's number either so I could get a more accurate ETA. Incredibly unprofessional in all aspects. Does anyone have a manager's number or emergency number to call for this? It looks like there are plenty of bad reviews, but there needs to be an official complaint made.
