My most recent visit was for an oil change. Also the tire pressure light was on and that was. Checked out too. And the interior cabin air filter was replaced, so three services. I’ve been a customer for at least ten years. I like that it’s a local family business an d appreciate their dedication to the community. Extremely knowledgeable staff, customer centric they take very good care of their customers.

I’ve taken my car here and have consistently had great experiences. They’re honest, thorough, and don’t try to upsell unnecessary work. Communication is clear, they take the time to explain things, and they genuinely try to do what’s best for the customer. They even helped coordinate with my warranty, which I really appreciated. A shop you can trust. Highly recommend!

I have been going to this shop for five years. Jessie and Anthony are the best. My old 25-year-Nissan is still running. The mechanics are professional and the shop is always clean. This shop also gives back to the community which is important that businesses get involved with the communities surrounding them. On a Thursday night we hit a large hard thing in the road and the next day we heard strange noises coming from the back of the car. Brought it in Friday and asked to have the techs check it. Of course they did a thorough check of all the suspension parts and anything else associated, isolating the noise to inside the fuel tank. Removing the tank they found a broken part inside the tank making the noise. They tracked down and installed a suitable used part saving us hundreds from a dealer part, getting us the car back on Tuesday. Again, not an inexpensive repair but fast, reliable service, even showing the original part and demonstrating the exact noise it had been making. Satisfied customer.

My company (TIL Events) ownes vans, pickups and box trucks… we take them all to Rantz and Anthony and Jessie always take excellent care of the vehicles. Always good price and they know what they are doing more than several other repair shops we have tried over the last decade

⭐️ 1 Star — Misdiagnosed and Misled I had an awful experience at Rantz. They reassured me multiple times that I wouldn’t be charged because the issue was covered under warranty. Days later, they told me to just take it to Carmax instead — and still billed me $200 for a diagnostic that turned out to be completely wrong. They told me my car would need a full “tear down” and that was not the case, (I took it somewhere else and figured out the problem). I understand shops charge diagnostic fees, but this felt dishonest. They knew they probably weren’t going to do the work and never explained that upfront. When I questioned it, I was brushed off and made to feel like I was misunderstanding the situation — it was incredibly frustrating. I grew up in Eagle Rock and wanted to trust a local shop, but this experience was deeply disappointing. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere honest and transparent.

They're such a bunch of helpful guys at Rantz. I moved 2 hours away and I STILL go there for maintenance on my car!

I was driving home from a long road trip on Wednesday. I stopped for a short break in Eagle Rock but when I resumed my journey I heard a terrible scraping noise. I looked under my car and saw a panel hanging down. The first gas station I went to said the mechanic was not available and pointed me down the road to Rantz Auto Center. When I pulled in, I was directed to the office where I met Anthony. He quoted me a price and asked for my name, address, phone number and a smile. The mechanic immediately put my car on the lift and screwed the undercarriage panel back in place. I was shown a photo of the repair and assured that it will stay in place. I was so moved by their quick response and kindness that my eyes started to tear up. Anthony gave me a reassuring hug and sent me on my way. There really are kind people in this world and they work at Rantz Auto Center.

It was my first time coming to Rantz auto center, my car needed a quick fix that moment but Jessie was so helpful explaining to me what my car needs to be done. Definitely coming back for full service. Thank you so much 🙏

Rantz is a very professional and prepared mechanics shop. They take the time to help you and make sure you understand any questions or concerns you may have. They send out detailed reports of the work they performed on the vehicle which I find to be very helpful for any questions I may have. The work is reliable and the prices are fair.

I had an amazing experience at Rantz! My car was having engine issues and they diagnosed it quickly and efficiently. The staff was very friendly, honest and not pushy. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

Rantz is the bomb! Extremely honest people and quick service as well. I was on the highway with my bf in his car when the engine began shaking, so we pulled into Rantz, never having been there before. It was the closest auto repair shop nearby at 3pm. I felt bad dropping in like that because it was MLK holiday, but they let us do so. We described what was happening to the car and they said it was likely a misfire. It ended up being exactly that and they fixed the car in about 25 mins. They also drove the car on the freeway after the fix to make sure it still didn’t have the issue. Thank you for being so quick and kind!!

The people at Rantz Auto were awesome. Super communicative, very clear on what needed to be done and how much it would cost, no surprise fees, incredibly reasonable pricing, and relatively fast turnaround. I will be bringing my Subaru Forester to them for all future repair needs.

Rantz is an awesome place to come and have your car serviced. They are such wonderful men, and great workers. They are always friendly and eager to answer any questions or concerns. I come all the way from Lake Balboa to have my car serviced because Rantz is the best. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for good service.

I have been with my mechanic for many years and had NO intention of changing, but Jesse at Rantz made all the difference and why we will NOW continue to always have our cars serviced here and work with Jesse. Continually on FB I had seen the posts on the ER community page, I was impressed by how much they support the community, and the community trusts their work. I needed a quick repair when I hit my neighbors mirror, my mechanic was too far, and he was not available. I remembered about Rantz and gave them a call. Jesse gave me a quick quote, answered all my questions and made it easy to facilitate a repair on a car that was not mine. Also, his quote price was fair and not overly priced like the dealer. When the car was taken in, they fixed the mirror to my neighbors liking, they now have a new client with him as well. Then, not too long later, we needed an oil change on one of our 2 cars and the service was quick, well priced and their follow up is great. They did a car health inspection as well; we wanted to know what is in our future, our cars drive many miles on a daily basis. Well, unfortunately we needed more work than we thought, but Jesse gave us a plan and helped us choose what was critical to take care of on our next visit. Then our other car started to act up and we were going on a trip and I was worried the car would break down. I called Jesse, he fit my car in and got the repairs done in time for us to travel with no problems. My story doesn't end, and well... sadly the 1st car we took in was making so much noise, we knew from the diagnostic they did it was destined to happen, and that time was now, our time of waiting was up. When it rains it pours, right? Bottom line, we trust Jesse and his team to get the job done with fair pricing and in timely manner. I also want to add one other point that made a difference with me. Jesse at no time made me feel like an idiot or uncomfortable about all my questions (and I had allot) about the repairs and why they were critical to do, fixing a car can get expensive and I needed to understand. He was so patient with me and always said to call him if I needed more assistance. Bonus points in my book, respect and kindness to others goes a long way with me and my husband. Hope this review helps if you are on the fence to have Rantz service your vehicle.

My car was caught right in the middle of a 3-car collision on the freeway and suffered a huge amount of damage. Dealing with an unhelpful insurance company, losing a car I loved a lot and relied on for work, all in the middle of an independently turbulent and awful time for my family had me a mess every time I came into the shop. Anthony and everyone at Rantz Automotive Center was so wonderful and supportive. He talked me through every part of the insurance and collision process, helped me get answers and information from the insurance company responsible, and when it was clear they weren’t offering anything near what would fix my car or reasonably replace it, found a way to miraculously bring my car back from the grave looking good as new without driving me to bankruptcy. I couldn’t believe how amazing it looked when I went to pick it up. They made a 96' rav4 look (almost) brand new off the lot. I just took my 28-year-old car to get smogged and it passed with flying colors. I can’t wait to take it out off paved roads in the field this summer where it belongs. I already knew from previous experience that Rantz was a great company, that did great repair work, and took a personal interest in their customers, but this experience was way beyond any expectation.

This is the BEST auto shop in NELA! They are very ethical, honest and do GREAT work. They took good care of my car and turned it around quickly. Good, honest mechanics! The prices are great, and the waiting area is really nice, it's full of goodies and entertainment while you wait. Definitely the nicest auto shop I've ever been to. I sincerely appreciate Anthony and Jessie for everything!

We've been bringing our cars to here for almost twenty years and have always been super happy. It's a local, multi-generational family business that is involved in the community, and they really know cars. They are very friendly, dependable, and go out of their way to help customers. They've always been honest about repairs and options and their prices are super fair. No reason to go anywhere else!

Love this place. They treat you better than family! They always make sure I'm taken care of and explain everything. Even washed my filthy truck! I showed up on a blistering day and the owner had an ice cream truck for his hard working crew...they got me one too!
