Absolutely the worst. I hope you guys read this columbus impound lot. You guys absolutely suck. This is just the worst place ever. I'm appalled that my tax dollars pay for this crap. The process just to get to the back to get to your items if you have a crashed vehicle is ridiculous. You're not allowed to drive your rental or whatever car you're in to your automobile. You have to use wheelbarrows to bring your stuff back from your wrecked vehicle. The parking lot is huge. My vehicle was in lane 38, which is like 200 plus yards from the gate. Obviously you don't want to make two trips so you're throwing everything that you have inside of a dusty, dirty, wet wheelbarrel and then pushing it 200 plus yards back to the gate that you have to fight with to get through, and then to your car. And did I mention it was raining the whole time. Also, you're not allowed to have anybody else come back there with you. Literally only the person that is registered to the vehicle can go through the gate. So imagine having just totaled your vehicle body beaten and sore, and having to go back there by yourself with no help and wrestle all your stuff back in a wheelbarrow. My heart goes out to anybody who has to deal with this place. Make sure you bring some plastic bags or trash bags or something to throw your stuff in to help with the process and save it from getting filthy in the wheelbarrow. If zero stars was an option, that's what I'd be giving. Shame on you Columbus!!!

Was fast and easy got my car in just a few mins. Keep in mind it was a slow day when I went to pay.

This place is a big joke. Ladies work on cashiers window hate their job. They’re there for pay checks only. Very slow. One window open 30 people waiting. Worst place ever been too.

CPD TOWED MY CAR FROM INFRONT OF MY HOUSE DIDNT KNOCK ON MY DOOR OR ANYTHING I CAME OUTSIDE TO MY CAR BEING PULLED ON TO A TOW TRUCK AND WHEN I ASKED THEY STATED “THE MAYOR PASSED SOMETHING WHERE THEY CAN GO DOWN RESIDENTIAL STREETS AND RUN PEOPLE PLATES TO CHECK FOR UPDATED TAGS” OR YOUR CAR CANT BE ON THE STREET FOR MORE THAN 72 HOURS MY CAR SAT OUT FRONT FOR MONTHS WITHOUT ISSUE AND THEY TOWED MY CAR ON A FRIDAY AT NOON COULDN’T GET MY CAR BACK TILL THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY BECAUSE OF SLOW SLOW SLOW BMV AND TITLE PLACES $175 AT THE TIME OF THE TOW OVER $200 THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY. A REAL DISSERVICE TO THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE HERE AND PURE GREED IN PROGRESS. THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN IN UPSCALE NEIGHBORHOODS. SNAKES.

Vehicle was stollen and recovered. Spoke with multiple employees that stated the my insurance could pick it up and the vehicle could be released. Sent multiple signed documents proving ownership and releaseing vehicle to insurance. Each time the document requirements changed. We are going on four days of running around and getting even more documentation to prove i own the vehicle.

Absolute 100% a cash grab. I blew a tire and my spare in the same night and had to leave my car on 70 west at 230am. The next day I call and notofy CPD and state highway patrol and was told by highway patrol as long as it is out of the way they will usually not tow......but CPD can and WILL tow so try to get back asap. Of course, being a working tax paying citizen of Ohio, I was working the next day but mad every effort to get to my car asap. I also called the impound lot multiple times to see if they had my car already.....no answer.....I arrive back to my car at 630pm after driving the 50 miles back to it and... .guess what? Money grubbers towed and impounded it...no notice to me....less than 18 hours after it was left in an area away from construction, ecits, business and the road......and they towed it....and the inpound lot never answered and is now closed. This is a total money grab trying to avoid people being able to get their cars. Hours say 10-5pm but I was told they are 10-4....M-F.....how are working people supposed to get their transportation back? The highway patrol dispatch literally called out CPD for towing cars for no reason.....get your act together...you are public SERVANTS....you serve to help the people, not make them waste money on stupid fines and lose money for hours of work they will have to miss without transport. Truly an abhorent and sad thing to see the crew that's supposed to help us most sticking it where the sun don't shine.

I call the police thinking someone stole my car. But some people tow my car last night for no reason. I call the police this morning and the police found it. They told the police saying I owe someone money for payment. I told them my car is pay off I had it for 3 years so why would someone just take my car for no reason. They just tow someone car without giving any reason.

They towed my car(2018) and they left 2 other cars(old) in the street. They put a ticket on the other one(2012). So are you focusing on model and year to take people’s car and call this violations? That’s desperate from you. Why don’t you contest to get paid more?

While it was difficult and a hassle to get my car out, it is 5 stars for Matt. I appreciated how kind and understanding he was with everything. He went above and beyond to help with such a stressful situation and I wanted to shout him out.

To truly say that I "liked" being there is rather silly, but the staff was very friendly. My car was towed on a Friday night and they're usually not opened on the weekends, but Ohio State had a football game so they were open on a Saturday. An associate came out 15mins early and opened the door for us to come in and made everyone there very happy. I waited maybe 10mins in line and then it only took a few mins at the window to get everything taken care of. The gentleman that was working was nice and I had some friendly small talk with him. So thank you for your kindness today, I really appreciated it.

It's horrible when you are trying to talk to some one, the wait time is ridiculous. I went in person, and the lady at the window was very nice and polite. If it wasn't for their phone system, I may have given another star.

A long line is do to the wonderful service provided. A special place to mingle with the locals. 2nd Thursday and Friday of each month, are especially packed. They serve the best monthly specials these days. Great family atmosphere! ÍùThe roadside service is amzing. Somehow they squeeze as many vehicles into the lot as possible. The beautiful Tow trucks flying up the small entrance. Some parking 2 and 3 vehicles at a time. Stunning scenery, great language and underworked employees make this a must see. Thank you Columbus, a moneymaker for sue! LMAO

I read reviews before coming here. Moved from GA and got the truck towed to this lot. Was petrified due to the reviews. However, my experience was far from the bad reviews. Actually it was a great experience. Professional bunch here. Just goes to show, that you never listen to other people’s view point about something. Experience it for yourself. Only downside was, my phone died and I didn’t have a charger. But the guy behind the window was willing to lend me one lol. How awesome is that?

Horrible!! Would give them -1000 stars if I could. My car got stolen a couple of weeks ago, I made a police report after that and then the officer that helped me said they would call me immediately when they found my car to prevent my car being towed here and having to pay their fine if I could get to them right away. Well…. they didn’t do that and just towed my car here anyway! Then after they called me yesterday about my car, they said that the impound would be open today, on New Year’s Eve, and NEVER mentioned that they closed early that day, so when I went to the impound before their usual closing time, that I confirmed through their listed times that they have on their voicemail l, I didn’t know they were closed until I read the paper sign posted on their door. No where else, on google, on their voicemail mentioned anything about it closing early! My mom and I drove 2 hours to get here today and it was all a waste! And they charge storing fees! Meaning now I can’t get my car until Monday since they are closed on the weekends. I’m not paying the storage fees for all those days!

Horrible! It seems like they never know what they are doing. I work for a towing company and it is a nightmare retrieving cars from their impound lot. We've gone to pick up cars they said were released, then we'll show up and guess what? Not released. Then when the release has been emailed or faxed they don't bother to keep track of what has come in. We've had to have them check again for release forms. We've had to resend them as well. I don't believe they are receiving proper training, as well as them being understaffed. The line these past two weeks has been over 25 people. And DO NOT use their call back service! They will call and hang up. And when they do answer 9 out of 10 times they are RUDE! The two stars are there for the 1 or 2 people in the past 3 years that was not rude.

From years of experience, what i learned fastly is the vehicles are not kept safe. Your vehicle gets ramsacked for your belongings and stolen. Vehicles get smashed and damaged and destroyed and claim that its not their fault. What a joke. I have a truck currently still their for which the car lot didnt give me a title for until about a month in half into being placed their and now that i finally have received it, it costs more to get out then i paid for the truck entirely.

What a joke. My vehicle was brought here for "safe keeping" after an accident with a city vehicle that wasn't my fault. I wasn't permitted to bring a vehicle back to help remove items. Only 1 person at a time. No bending the rules for injured parties.

So infuriating that only 1 person at a time could go to vehicle to retrieve personal items. 2 arms can only carry so much. This place is huge! The staff were courteous to us. Phone calls answered my questions courteously since I knew nothing after they sent a registered letter. We live 100 miles away. We know nothing and were not notified by Columbus police that are son was seriously injured in crash, hospitalized. Or that our vehicle was at this location. It may not be this location's responsibility but someone in the Police Department could help us out somehow instead of us playing Sherlock Holmes.

My brand new Infiniti was towed there after an accident. It was raining, and they didn't bother to put plastic on the window, which wouldn't go up after the crash, so the inside got soaked and my car was also a hotel for a raccoon that night. For the rates charged, you'd think they'd be able to take 2 minutes to put a 2 cent piece of plastic over a window. Ridiculous.

If you're complaining about a couple hundred dollar fine to get your car, I really wouldn't. Bc their fines used to ridiculously higher! They finally changed it, but all the people before me weren't so lucky! It's hard to say I liked the impound, but when my car got impounded they took it here. It had to stay there for over a week so I could get the money. I finally went in expecting to pay over $1,000, BUT when I went to pay, she said it was only $140 some dollars! I couldn't believe it! She actually said that the city had just changed the city or state code... law or whatever & that they could no longer charge the outrageous holding fees! Hallelujah ? That's what I said! They were all very nice & courteous too me. I did have to walk all the way to the back to get my car, but I didn't care! ?

Unfortunately I’ve had to deal with this impound twice. The first just over a year ago when I was pregnant and hit by a school bus. That long walk was (sarcastically) fun. Now that I’m here again after being hit again and my body was run over by a car and pinned in between two cars, I was told that I was not allowed to drive on the lot. Rather I had to bring someone with me who could walk to retrieve my belongings. It’s very unfortunate and extremely frustrating that this facility cannot be accommodating to such circumstances. Should there ever arise a need for my car to be towed again, I will do everything in my power to make sure it is not taken to the police impound lot again.

Everybody here clearly hates their job and/or life. Who knows. The customer service here is NON existant. Went and bought a car from the last police auction... paid for it and apparently was given a title that wasnt put in my name. FORCING me to go back 2 weeks later to pay for a duplicate copy of a new title. Of course when I went the ONE AND ONLY PERSON in charge of titles was on a full week vacation and failed to inform anybody else in the building where she keeps documentation. On top of that their is absolutely no trace of empathy in the whole building for people. Even if the problem was their fault to begin with. Please people to not come here if you dont have to. I'd rather get run over by the peice of junk car that I bought from them versus going back and for anything ever again. Also who closes at 7 and stops taking phone calls at 4pm?!?!. You guys clearly have disconnected from reality on that one....

Who loves paying $200 fines? If you do, this place is for you! They've got a whole lot of freshly towed and impounded cars larger than Disney world, every model and make that ever existed. Can't miss place for classic misery and anger with towing racket operations.

I actually had a surprisingly pleasant experience here! I wish I knew the lady’s name at the window that handled my claim.. because she was delightful. And I told her just that. I was in an accident with a semi truck on the freeway and my car had gotten towed. The lady at the window was saying how glad she was that I’m okay and I didn’t get injured. She was delightful, friendly, caring and even threw some humor at me (which I really appreciated). I told her how good she is at her job and how wonderfully personable she was with me. I just might call back and ask who she is and post her name on here. FYI to anyone who wrote bad reviews or is planning to write a bad review: It is not the fault of the person handling your claim from behind the window. They are simply doing their job.

Genuinely one of the worst experiences I've had. While I will admit it was my fault my car was towed due to street sweeping, this was the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had. I work in customer service and while I know firsthand how dealing with angry patrons every day wears you down, not one of the workers there could explain what I needed to do to get my car out clearly without being incredibly rude. I was very calm and polite when speaking with them. Additionally the line was extremely long that day and only two of the windows were open. I understand that an establishment like this one doesn't need to care about the way people are treated but this was beyond ridiculous.

Parasites. Quit impounding cars for spurious reasons, and quit charging your citizens unreasonable fees for retrieving the vehicle. I'm sorry, but it doesn't cost $250 for you to tow my car five miles to your lot and hold it for a day. No one should be making a profit from this. If you cared about your citizens, you would charge them no more than it costs to pay the tow driver, plus gas and reasonable wear (maybe $1 a mile if you're greedy). I do concede that it would be reasonable to charge more for people who are frequent / repeat "customers". As it stands, not only does your job consist of inconveniencing people for a living, you're robbing them while you do it.

If I could give them 0 stars I would! My car was towed here and sat for 3 hours before I could come pick it up. It was working great before it got towed. When I picked it up something was not right and it stopped and would not turn back on!! I was stranded on the side of 104 for 4 hours waiting for a tow truck to arrive!! Now I am finding out that the reason it is messed up is because something that happened at the lot!!! Just because my car was taken does not mean you can just treat it like junk!!!!!!! I am beyond mad because now I have to pay for my car to get fixed when it was not even broken!!!!!!! I have been out of a car for a week having to rely on other people to get back and forth to work!! Worst place ever!!!
