They always try to make money and they keep changing the policies so they keep making money the driver told you one thing and they change it couple days later this people should be in jail for stealing money
Crooks towed My Car and my Son’s car from a property for expired tags. I had another son pass away and didn’t have time to renew them before they took Cars.. These crooks made me pay $389 for 8 days and putting charges they made up. My son had to pay $156 for the same day.. They Prey on poor people to make Money.
This guy showed up on time was extremely polite and helpful even gave me a dr. Pepper had his own cooler and even in locked the door these these are the people that you should tip and do it very well because people like that really deserve it amazing job thanks again 👍
Today's receptionist girl from June 17, 2020 at 12:25 am, was totally rude and ill-mannered, she threw my documents out the window and was unkind, even since she answered my call at 10:00 pm until she yelled at me and she hung up the call, I hope they fired her and placed a person with values and respect.
They will take a copy of your ID, which is illegal. Who knows what they are doing with all of that information. Where's "6 on your side" when you need them?
Do not hire, they will tell you one price and charge you more for no reason. Very bad customer service. I notice after all the negative reviews on google and was not surprised
Shady company. Demand that you pay in cash to have your car released. The area and shop is very unsafe. They tow cars that are permitted & allowed to be there.
Awful people who make a living screwing hard working Americans. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!! CALL A DIFFERENT TOW COMPANY!!! SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!! The only good reviews they have are because they tell their employees to write reviews. If you scroll through the list oh, there is 10 one star reviews for every good review.
Brett towed our car last night, which sucked. But he was so nice and understanding! He helped us out alot. We aren't from a big town, so we appreciate all he did! He definitely deserves a raise! Can't praise him enough!
These are true con artists. Camcar towed my husband's car when it was legally parked in his authorized parking space with his parking pass. The company admitted to the police they "made a mistake", but they still held my husband's car for ransom until he paid their $150.00 fine. He was told his parking pass was "missing", which I know is a lie, because I saw it last night. These charlatans will be exposed, and I am contacting the BBB.
Arrived ahead of schedule. Very secure hitching. Let me know my tires were low. Even dropped it in the driveway for me. I feel bad for all the negative reviews. If you parked illegally, you deserve to be towed. Predatory towing company??? Yeah, right. Name a towing company that doesn't take advantage of terrible drivers. Oh, that's right; that's what towing companies are for. If you genuinely need assistance, this company will take care of you. If you parked like an idiot, they will impound your car to the convenience of the rest of us.
Camcar well known for predatory towing practices . Not legal towing where there was a sign, lack of permit, etc. Were talking about hitching up cars lawfully parked and carting them off then holding the cars owners hostage for ransom.
Local authorities will not deal with these people, the only plausible explanation I can think of is the kickbacks. CPD? Columbus Prosecutor?
This is the most horrible and unprofesional people to use for your towing needs. If I knew my insurance (Nationwide) ordered their service for me, I would've changed my mind and ordered something else. I waited more 3 hours and the stupid guy dropped my car on a different property and left. I had to call to another towing company to finish the job!
This company is a huge scam. They towed my vehicle from my apartment when it had the sticker and when I called to ask what was going on, they just hung up on me. However, that wasn’t going to stay like that. I filled a complaint with the BBB and the Attorney General. What they do is a complete scam.
I was charged $237 for getting my vehicle back.
They towed my car from an apartment complex parking lot at the OSU campus that's the resident stated was visitor parking. The resident was even at a lose as to why.
My car broke down in a Lowe's parking lot. I called State Farm and they sent a driver from CamCar. I received a text with the ETA and they arrived at the time as promised. The driver was very professional. I had it towed back to my home and he parked it where I asked. No complaints!
They should be called "ScamCar Towing. These people towed my car literally just after they posted a no parking sign on a vacant property. They charged me $122 and damaged the front of my car. Now they refuse to return my calls or fix the damage to my vehicle. I am seeking legal action, as well as, filing a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. These people are as unprofessional as it gets. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!
Ruthless. They towed /my/ car - from /my own garage/ - because I'd forgotten my parking pass. Take note that **a tow truck doesn't fit in a garage**... so they dragged my car all the way out from the back, loaded it, and then charged me over a hundred dollars to retrieve the car towed from my place.
Preys on the college students at Ohio State and illegally tows without a contract OSU does not have a contract with this guys but they will tow anyways i.e. Grand theft auto.
Terrible tow company, towed my car from a private lot that was authorized to park in until they came and told me I wasn't alowed to park in it and took my car, $120 scam later...
Worst Towing company ever! Do not hire these people to work for your company. They iIlegally towed my friend's car. She was parked in a visitor parking area at my apartment complex and they towed her car!!!!!!! It took 4 hours out of my night to talk to the worker named Logan who was extremely disrespectful and rude. He initially said it would be $48 to get the car and then changed it to $109 bc apparently I was rude?! In which I was not rude but very upset that they WRONGFULLY towed the car! He had no documentation or anything to prove that she was parked in an incorrect area. After fighting for 4 days I was finally able to get my refund but that doesn't change the fact that they iilegally towed the car and ruined our night. Isn't this considered stealing? I have lived in my apartment complex for a year and never had an issue until now. CamCar needs to get their crap together!!
Well, unfortunately I am rating as the stereotypical reviewer.
My story starts with a small red parking pass. As I was fearful of leaving my car on the street for the weekend, my friend offered to obtain a pass in order to park in her apartment's parking lot.
She mentioned that the person that gave her the pass seemed oblivious and confused on the matter. After she explained that all he needed to do was date and time stamp the pass, he did so and we were on our way.
After a long weekend, as we pulled in to the apartment complex I noticed my car was no where to be found. My friend immediately called the office but no response due to it being 9 am on a Sunday. So, we called the tow company that handles the lot and headed their way soon after knowing they towed my car.
We get there and speak with the gentleman at the desk. He explained that he needed to wait until his driver got back, which was fine. After 5 minutes or so, his driver showed up and he went to find out why they towed my car. He took a look at the pass to find that the date seemed to be altered. I told him that the pass was in my locked car all weekend and the keys were in my possession. He told me that he would have to call the apartment complex in order to work things out and or wait until Monday for his bosses to be in the office.
So, he could not contact anyone from the apartment complex main office (because it was early Sunday morning) and said if I wanted my car I would have to pay for it.
I could not leave my car mainly because I live two hours away. So, I paid the $114 and expected to resolve the situation Monday.
The gentleman gave me a business card with two names on the back and told me to call Monday after 8am. I was assuming they would work it out with the apartment complex. Oh how I was wrong.
It is now the day after, Monday, and I try and contact one of the men on the back of the business card. I was put on hold for thirty seconds and then was told he was busy and asked if I wanted to continue to hold or leave a message. I left a message and expected a phone call there soon after. The gentleman never contacted me, so I figured I would wait until Tuesday.
Before I get into my last bit of information, I must also explain why I called the towing company instead of the apartment complex. Well, I did call the apartment complex and they told me to have my friend who lives in turn complex, pay me the $114. They said they would take off the amount off her next month's rent. Well, I assumed it would be easier to just have the company call the towing company and have them credit the amount back to my account. Once again, I was wrong. He just wanted to take the easy way out. It is half way through the month. What if my friend did not have $114? Do they expect me to wait? No...I had been misdirected and misused for the last time.
I called Camcar towing Tuesday and politely gave them my information and series of events that had taken place. My goal was to have someone from the Camcar contact the apartment complex to work things out in order to have my payment canceled or credited back to my account. The gentleman on the phone told me it was not their problem since the pass was altered. I told him I understood that and I just wanted the two companies to communicate. He did not want anything to do with it and he kept deflecting and avoiding. I was fed up with the conversation and said thanks and hung up. Instead of calling back and getting nowhere, I decided to take to the review section on Google.
Mind you, this is a specific scenario but it shows how Camcar works in the way of customer service. If you run into the same situation with Camcar I suggest talking in person when both offices are open. The gentleman I spoke with in person showed some empathy, but as soon as you get on the phone with them they are rude and insensitive.
I am not one to post a a negative review but I wish to shed some light for future customers/problems. If you read this far, I assume you are a potential customer or work for Camcar. Good luck to both.
