We have used Capitol for a little over a year and have been extremely pleased with their service. Ryan and Destiny have been great and are always there to answer questions anytime we need them. Their pricing is also lower than anyone else in our area so I highly recommend!
Very disappointing customer service throughout our commercial contract. After complaining about destruction to the fence surrounding our commercial dumpster and two promised, but not executed, early pick ups due to an overflowing dumpster (we were trying to avoid waste on the ground, a health dept violation) I asked our sales rep when our contract was up so I could cancel on time. Their response was to cancel our contract immediately and advise the dumpster would be picked up in 6 days. I respectfully asked for a one month extension to have time to make arrangements with another provider because we're a business that generates trash every day and can't have trash sitting on the ground in between services. No answer. Instead they came after 5 (not 6) days to pick it up. Luckily I saw them today and had to run out to ask that they not take away the dumpster because I didn't have a replacement arranged as I was still awaiting follow up on my request for another month. Upon follow up with our sales rep they are now giving me until the end of the week. Rather than be apologetic for promised early pick up misses we received rudeness and immediate cancellation of our contract. As a small business owner we strive to acknowledge our own mistakes and do right by our customers. It was disappointing not to receive this respect in return.
We use Capitol Waste & Recycling for our dumpster service at our office. We do not generate a lot of waste since we are a printing company and found that this company had the best options for us as a small business. The best part is that even though we use basically their minimum service available, they respond and make you feel like you are a top tier client. At PrintWerx, LLC we highly recommend Capitol Waste & Recycling.
After continued complaints, this companies operating team does not communicate. They take out trash in residential areas at 5am waking up my school aged children. They do not follow the guidelines of the city or noise ordinances. They make promises to do so but do not follow through. Very disappointed and do not recommend them!
I've had horrible experiences with my trash not getting picked up by Capitol Waste. I'm not sure if the driver was on something, but he would forget to pick up my trash containers. Or, to give him the benefit of the doubt, he picked up the wrong containers from another apartment complex. I had to call in on several occasions because my trash containers would stay full. The driver said he emptied them each time. I told them that I had a hunch that the driver was picking up the wrong containers since there are several apartment buildings nearby that look similar. The salesman, let's call him John, reassured me that the correct containers were getting emptied and that probably someone else was illegally dumping trash into my bins. It would take a big dump truck to empty that much trash in one day, so I tell him it is highly unlikely. To get to the bottom of things, I tell him to have his driver take a picture of the empty container as soon as he picks it up until we figure out what is going on. Sure enough, the week after, the trash is still full all the way up to the top. At this point, I've gotten several complaints from my tenants, and also code enforcement has issued me a citation. So, I tell John, "Great, let's see the picture of the empty container that your driver was supposed to take." It turns out, he did not even take the picture, but John says he did empty the container. How would he know??? He wasn't even there! How convenient. Again, he says that someone else is filling the trash all the way up. Yeah, sure. If he had the picture, we would unequivocally know for certain. Also, my tenants tell me that the trash has been looking like that for several days. So then, John says he would personally go to my trash bins and take a picture of them. He sends me the picture, however, the bins in the picture that he took are NOT EVEN MINE!!! He then says that he screwed up and went to the wrong location, but rest assured his driver went to the correct one. Yeah, ok, sure. If HE went to the wrong apartment complex, wouldn't he think THE DRIVER could have done so as well??? If they just owned it, and said it was their mistake, I would not even be writing this negative review. On top of that, I was charged $160 for the extra "courtesy pick-up." Come on now, If anyone owes anything, it is Capitol Waste that owes me a few extra pick-ups. What am I paying for? Services that I never received? They should give me a refund for time wasted in constantly having to monitor whether or not the trash was being emptied. I had to constantly call them and tell them the trash was still full. I've since switched to another cheaper company, and I can't be happier. Thumbs down to Capitol Waste. This garbage company IS garbage. Use another company such as Republic, Local, or Rumpke.
Have been with company for many years, the drivers has been extremely rude to us, even writing on trash container and throwing items out of it off to the side and leaving them lay there. We are on a once a month pick up, 3 times drivers has not picked up our trash, we have called only for them to say the driver left no notes and said he remembers picking the trash up. Sorry but we have 4 people who work here and we have all noticed our trash over flowing, this time we all remember what was put in the trash after he picked up in August, because we were cleaning out a certain area of our shop, and we check the bottom of our trash on October 1st and could see check what we put in there in August and it is still in the bottom of the container. So our trash was never picked up in September, called and they said they can only go off of what the driver said, told them the driver is a liar and we are a paying customer. Waiting to see what they will do about this.
Spoke with Jeff this morning, hours before they opened, and he was on-the-spot with information and taking steps to remedy my concern. Five Star safety and customer service!
Been with this company for 7 years now, wonderful company!! Drivers always putting up with our cars in the way and the office staff is always professional and helpful. We were told by the other waste mgt companies this company would never survive because their prices were just too low. Still have the same low price we started with and the BEST customer service out there. Keep up the great work, all of us at the West Jefferson Animal Hospital sure appreciate it.
We have used several other companies in the past but I have to say that after 2 years of using Capitol Waste for my business I am still thrilled by their service. Over the 2 years they have never missed a pick-up and only been late 1 time due to severe weather. Their prices blow the big guys out of the water and their contract is simple to understand and fair for both parties. If you are considering switching from WM, Rumpke or any of the other major players consider giving Capitol Waste a shot.
