The staff are terrible at customer service; if they don't like their job, why go there, especially those at the donation boxes.

The manager has a nasty rude attitude so I'll never go back but the store has good pieces of clothing there and nice shoes also

Drop off used items, buy used items...??I have taken some many good things to the place. It's gotten so messy...smh...Its gotten better from the day I posted this review.

I love this thrift shop! They have period clothing, qwerty items from childhood and needed items for caregivers. And in August 2025 they improved the shop! Cleaner, streamlined, increased the furniture department and organized. I still love the place! Whether dropping off donations or finding some completion to my planned outfit or home decor.

I have been trying to call the number listed for this store. I wanted to donate a new mattress topper and wanted to know if it would be accepted, but each time I call and wait for someone live I am disconnected. Why is it so difficult to try to donate?

A place for the poor to find SOME satisfaction, ruined by bad actors and trend chasers who don't need the stuff they find here, but desperately want a personality. If you're not poor or disadvantaged and you shop here actively, know that you actively contribute to the ruin of other peoples satisfactions.

Pretty decent store from the times that I have visited. Wish it had more decent vinyl in stock, but I do enjoy the dvds selections that they havr

I’m unfortunately dissatisfied. It’s organized, but there’s not much. Most racks have little to no clothes. It seems to have more casual adult wear, mostly for older women. And I usually don’t have trouble finding clothes in places with less stretch, but I guess that’s impossible here since there’s really not much to choose from. If you’re looking for tight-fitting clothes, this isn’t the store for you. If you prefer baggier styles, then give it a try. I’d suggest checking out another Salvation Army with more variety.

Does not accept donations after 5 and the store is open till 7. I am giving away stuff at least provide me with some convenience

Store is always dirty and staff are lazy and very rude. I was browsing through some mens clothes when a worker with weird Beads necklace approached me and rudely told me to put the clothes back on the exact rack i found it from! He also said he was watching me and its the second time he saw me... like seriously? Such a nasty rude guy. I avoid this store and go to the Freeman street location instead.

Extremely unprofessional and lazy staff. Avoid buying or giving to any organization that tolerates its employees to act in such a manner. We went to drop out some shoes and clothes while there we decided to purchase a small dresser and the young lady at the register seemed upset, after waiting a while for assistance since there was multiple other pieces of furniture and the staff refused. Per Chris it’s policy that they don’t have to help. What are they there for? Avoid this place at all cost.

I visit this Salvation Army location once a year while visiting my mother, and unfortunately, the same issues persist year after year. The environment in this store is far from welcoming or safe. There is constant vulgar language coming from the back room, which is incredibly unprofessional and off-putting. The manager exhibits a “God complex,” speaking to customers in a rude, insensitive, and downright hostile manner. This creates an atmosphere where customers feel unsafe—I found myself keeping my phone ready to call 911, not because of the neighborhood, but because of the behavior of the staff. To make matters worse, I witnessed what appeared to be management selling products out of the store without proper procedure. A customer walked into the manager’s office and left with items from the stock. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially for an organization with a mission to help the poor and needy. I’m deeply disappointed in The Salvation Army for allowing this kind of unprofessionalism to go unchecked. This location needs immediate attention from corporate management to ensure it aligns with the values the organization claims to stand for. Until changes are made, I cannot recommend shopping here. ---

I’ve been to this Salvation Army store twice and found some great gems, including vintage garments, but I’m only giving it three stars because the male staff is absolutely horrible, mean, and disgruntled. Case in point, my mom and were shopping on Veterans Day, and she was about to peruse a rack of clothing when a man with gold teeth came over and abruptly said excuse me. Before she could even respond physically — my mother has mobility issues — he rolled a full, large, and heavy clothing rack into her path, nearly hitting her. When I confronted him about waiting for someone to actually move after you’ve excused yourself, he had the nerve to tell me I was getting belligerent and threatened to start recording me on video. To which I responded, go ahead because I enjoy being on camera. He continued to pop off, even in their sorting area which is only separated from the rest of the store by a partition. There was also an incident last week when another male worker flung my neatly hung and arranged go-back garments onto my cart because I, a new thrifter there, didn’t know their policy nor see a sign on another overstuffed garment rack. I had to confront him about that too. Shopping for women is an intimate event, especially at a thrift store in which there are no fitting rooms nor returns, but these workers are creating an uncomfortable atmosphere, and if they’re not happy working there, maybe it’s time to find other employment. Also, the store could use a decent sweeping and mopping. The staff literally walks past piles of dust and other debris everyday and no one has thought to run a broom across the floor. Shameful all around.

About 15 years ago a friend who lived in the BX told me about 1/2 priced Wednesdays at the Jerome Ave Salvation Army thrift store! I went and it was awesome!!! Got a gorgeous Bernhardt Couch & tons of great clothes & shoes…a gorgeous pair of Loubouton Black Shoes for $5.99!!! It was so good I’d try to go every Wednesday!!! Now I’d like to know do they still do 1/2 priced Wednesdays? At this Location? I take the uptown 4 train from Lex & 125th & get off at Burnside Ave! I want to go again but it’s been at least 6 years so I’m not sure(way before pandemic) does anyone know if they still do the 1/2 priced Wednesdays? Thx for any info??

Awful experience! Last week, The guy at the register behave in front of the manager! After the manager left he was very evil! He need it to move the rug that was in from of the mirror and he totally gave me a nasty attitude! I kindly told him I don’t want to move it because I don’t want to do something wrong! Then I asked him a simple question and he gave me the nastiest attitude!! If he can’t work in that environment , he should be move to the back! Customer service is not always being pleasant! But have respect for clients! He is a very extremely rude person! And as I can read every body is complaining about this worker in this page! Hopefully someone read this and make him read it too! Yes I’m the person how asked you if the ring are 925 and you responded me if that was my business to know! Very rude!!

The manager here today was very rude from when I first encounter with him. He said I took a long time being in there. Then he wanted my bag pack. At first I thought he was kidding. He then told me that ny bag has a blue sticker on it. I tried to tell him that this is my bag and I have past photo to prove it. He didn’t apologize on top of that he threaten to call the cop on me and threatened to ban me as well . I was hoping for him to call the cop so that this can be on record because I have a feeling that this might have happened in the past and will happen again in the future to other customers. Anyway, I appreciate another male staff in there, I have seen him before, he was always such a nice guy. Keeps to himself but very polite. When I do come to store, it does take time for me to go thru stuffs since the store has a lot of merchandise of which I appreciate.

staff was staring me down the entire time from the moment i walked in which was very uncomfortable ,a few minutes after i walk in they suddenly decided to check bags which is really weird for a thrift to do? stuff is very expensive for what it is, it’s really used as a lot of the stuff have holes , rips, stains etc; overheard the staff talking about me accusing me of planning to steal which made me feel highly unwelcome as i was a paying customer and did nothing except walk around and look at the racks, made comments about me being on my phone, which made no sense? i decided to walk towards the back to see what they had and guess what, they accused me of going to the back to steal! they were still staring which really creeped me out. they charge more than the original price of clothes (they forgot to take off an original tag, store price was more expensive) i don’t usually leave reviews but this experience was so bad i had to post it ,overall you would just be better going to the thrift down the street.

June 27, 2024 I was in the store that I have been coming to for years and I had never seen a man as rude and disgusting as the one I found today. I would like him to be removed because one day someone will not put up with what I put up with from that spoiled brat.

I came into this thrift store to become a donator. I asked for the manager, while she was cursing and arguing with another patron. She said very rudely, "I am the manager." I was very surprised she allowed one problem to affect how she interacts with the public. I asked about the donating process. She was so annoyed that I asked; she explained the process in a way I couldn't understand. Speaking unprofessionally, rude, and very vulgar. At that point, I just gave up and walked out. Honestly, now this location loses out on thousands of dollars in merchandise throughout the year. Items they could have sold for hundreds of dollars. I review brand new products, and then I have no use for them. I was trying to make a contract like deal with the store. Stay away from this location.

Yeah, I remember this store… yeah they do have some quality clothes and bags and shoes at affordable prices. They also do sales on some days, I think it is on Wednesdays, when they reduce the prices on some clothing and place yellow tags on them. It’s a great store to save some money

The store is okay, some gems if you dig hard but really just your run of the mill regular thrift store. The staff working there are kind and the store is organized. I got a really nice pair of boots that I'm excited to wear and a few regular tops. They have great discounts on different days of the week with items of different colors being reduced to either $.99 or half off including coats and shoes. Decent spot to fill in your wardrobe with some essentials but not somewhere that has anything flashy.

I always score the most adorable vintage pieces from this location. I don’t care for the Manhattan locations. I love that the money goes back to helping those are are down on their luck. Double win for all of us! The staff is very friendly to me and wonderful.

I'm an avid Salvation army shopper and have gone to all the Bronx locations. I'm not sure if folks rarely donate here or the staff is tired/underpaid but the racks are NEVER filled at this location. It has that eerie “store is closing” feeling. I would not bother with this one.

Pretty good selection, was prices much cheaper then Manhattan locations, half-price offers everyday, was virtually everything half price on Wednesdays. The staff works hard and getting the merchandise out of the floor, what is the best places left to get a bargain on what you need. Strongly recommend.

Hmm? Is there anything I love about this store?...EVERYTHING!!! This is my favorite store! Great prices! Have yet to buy an item I am disappointed with!!! My favorite thing about this store is there is something for everyone! Personally I love vintage stuff, and most times there is always something vintagey there waiting for to be in my collection! You should absolutely check this place out if you are looking for a store to get high quality for low price goods!!!
