Recently failed the road test and my examiner was 973. I found it unfair that I failed it because of the parallel parking, knowing that it will be a struggle because of the snow and ice, which you are bound to touch the snow and ice. Most of the points was parking. Now I will admit that my right turn was a bit wide, but the fact that I failed because of parking just isn’t right. I would avoid this during the winter since I wasn’t expecting to parallel park in this weather. Overall, will try again in the summer.
The examiner 482 failed me but she clearly wasn’t paying attention as what I lost points for I shouldn’t have. I only agree with one thing I lost points for. The other ones were genuinely wrong. I’m very disappoint and she was also not very welcoming at all, very dry not making it a comfortable environment.
I previously took my exam at the Strang Bronx location, and I firmly believe the instructor was unfair in her evaluation. I arrived with my driving school, and we had three ladies scheduled, one for 9:45 AM and two of us for 10 AM. The instructor started with the other student, but she was expected to take a break then. However, she informed my instructor that she would conduct my test quickly before her break, which made the entire process feel rushed.
I have studied numerous videos and read reports about others' experiences at the Strang location, and I should have been instructed to turn left at the light. Instead, she told me to continue straight for three blocks, then turn right and parallel park behind a van in a driveway. This unexpected instruction threw off my parking technique, as I wasn't able to properly align my mirrors, a method my previous instructors highlighted.
While I was attempting to park, my wheel lightly touched the curb due to the driveway's slope, which I acknowledge wasn't ideal. After that, I successfully executed a three-point turn. When my test results were posted, I discovered I had failed due to the parking incident and the curb-touching. Neither of these reasons should have led to an automatic failure, especially since the examiner instructed me to park on an active driveway. The overall test felt hurried, and I firmly believe she should have taken her break as scheduled, rather than rushing through my test. This rushed approach unfairly impacted my performance.
EXCELLENT AREA but STAFT don’t look so happy 517 examiner says i did everything wrong i know I wasn’t perfect but feel this guy add up a way too much that i did right to me i know i probably fails most cause i did not put the flashlight to park but this guy make me look like I didn’t do anything right in his observation he told me I failed with 30 points all together the parking and then he told which all ready do not make sense to do the 3 points with he took me off points with others things i was all ready Failed why keep doing something else do not make SENSE AT ALL
I passed and I'm grateful but one of the ladies here doesn't let you finish anything for example went to parrell park before I can even finish putting it in park she's telling me pull out. Like aren't I suppose to finish the steps you know like place the car in park before we just pull out. She rushes you I think my test wasn't even 5 mins.She has rude demeanor no hi or friendlyness. One three point turn parrell parked once and went around the block. Again grateful I passed but she just seemed in rush to get it over with it.
My examiner 444 wow she they best get me the best compliment letting me know I pass !!! Whoop wooo what a blessing? had to change driving school because I failed on my first try but today was a game changer she was very polite no attitude she was ready to go and both left with smiles on our faces and btw I went to Janice Driving School I recommend that right here in the Bronx on southern blvd my instructor was the owner to that company and I tell you he will make sure you pass that test that all they care for for you to do everything correctly so that you can pass best experience I ever had thank you ?
I passed my road test today after being so nervous. I thought I would have peed on myself. But I conquer my fear and did what I had to do. Examiner 709 was very professional.
I loved the test inspector ID 824. She was Hispanic and full of bedside manners friendly nice and polite that took away all my anxiety and fear. She even told me good 3x and also corrected me at one point. I couldn't believe I passed my test. Loved her. Overall test area was pretty easy and good too. I would recommend this area to everyone
appointment was at 1:00 & the test didn’t start until around 1:30. i had instructor 535 he wasn’t rude or anything he was just quiet & telling me what to do as a normal instructor should do so it made me feel less nervous because at one point it felt like he wasn’t in the car lmao. he told me to have good day which i took as a sign that i did good but i passed on the first try. it’s a easy location

Thank you to Examiner 524 for believing in me. When I went to my last road test in White Plains, I felt like a total failure. But today, at my road test on Strang Avenue, I passed—and I now have my Class D license! Thank you for having faith in me and my ability to be a safe, capable driver. I’m beyond grateful!
Examiner ID: 826 was awesome! I was nervous after attempting the test two times before and failing, but I guess third times a charm! I passed!! He was very pleasant and gave me all my instructions in a timely manner! Good luck guys!!!
To start off right, make sure to check in with the inspector, wait in line, and stay in your car until instructed! I passed my test!! Thank you for your work. An excellent location for the driving test and very friendly staff.
I just passed my road test it’s so simple and easy examiner 1002 believe in me and I’m so grateful that I pass are you you need to do is just be aware of your surroundings using your mirrors and shoulder checks as well as blind spots.
So annoyed with the test proctors. Was there at the designated spot as per the directions since 8am for an 8:30-am appointment. Wasn’t taken until nearly 9:30m because I wasn’t on their line. Although as per the website I was exactly where I should’ve been. Instead that’s what they consider their end point. Start is literally like 30 feet away at the corner or Edison and Grace. Despite me finding a proctor around 8:45am they still made me wait in-line. When confronted with this they just said that’s not what “we” said.
I like the examiner 524 I think he was very fair to me I missed by 15 points he didn't make me feel no type of way I should had warmed up before my test I was not driving for like 3 months wish I could get him again very respectful just take ur time thank u
Examiner 1002 despite having failed on 3 occasions in different locations she did believe in me and gave me a fair assessment I do not exaggerate like the previous inspectors who subtracted more points without committing those faults, despite being black she is not racist. Thank you for believing in me ❤️
My instructor (I did not get his number) did not warn me of turning until right before the corners. Furthermore, I learned and practiced driving in New York City and upon arriving I believed I was in westchester county. When I arrived at a red light during the test he told me to proceed when it was safe. This was misleading because the light was red. When I asked him if it was legal to make a right on red in westchester county, he said yes and so I proceeded. After I turned right he said that I had failed and that we were in the Bronx and not Westchester. Very unfair in my opinion because the test did not reflect my driving ability in any stretch, but instead was completely judged on my knowledge of where in the state of New York I was located. When I asked if I could continue the test he rudely replied that the opportunity was over.
I would not recommend this test to anyone who does not live in the area. I was at an extreme disadvantage.

The guy that tested me today was number 709. I think he was very unfair. I know I messed up on the three point turn Iand it was more of me not being nervous, but timing. Instead of a 3-point turn, I did 5 maneuvers, and I was definitely clear on why that happened. I asked him if I could do it again because I told him I know how to do it and I nailed it perfectly when I was doing my lessons. I did my parallel parking with no problem. I made sure I was stopping at every stop sign counting to three watching for pedestrians did not proceeded to go looking both ways. I don’t know what This examiner was paying attention to, or maybe he was stuck in his pad, but I was completely focused. I was not nervous while I was on that road. He claimed I wasn’t observing when I was looking both ways at every intersection, looking over my left shoulder or mirrors when I was making a left turn at the intersection, and when I made a left turn at the intersection. Then while I was driving, it was a red light so I’m behind the car and they tell you to stay at least 100 feet away from the car or that you can see the bumper. He tells me to move all the way up I say, isn’t that like tailgating. I went into the left lane and then from there I signal to go into my right lane and looked over my right shoulder. I was constantly looking back-and-forth in my mirrors and over my left and right shoulder, whenever I made the turn, which was one left turn one right turn parallel, parking a 3-point turn.. he also said my steering was off when I was doing handover hand. I had no issues controlling the vehicle. I do not like this guy. I think he’s very unfair He was taking off points left and right when I saw my results. Don’t give me wrong driving a car is a deadly weapon. And yes, I am clear you have to be completely safe. I was paying attention to pedestrians yield the right away any cars to be honest he said it was hazards when there was no hazards even in the street. I think somebody’s examiners have been doing this too long and are miserable with their positions because you’re not supposed to make new drivers feel uncomfortable or afraid to be on the road you supposed to make them feel comfortable which causes the new driver to be able to focus and stay more alert, I’m really pissed off that I failed my test And I do not want that examiner again!
The location wasn’t hard to find. It is on the same street as a supermarket. Seamless and straight forward process. Waited in line for less than 20 minutes.
It’s a test so prepare and go in knowing what you’ll be tested on and how the point system works. The road test itself took about 12 minutes for me to complete and pass on the first try. Full disclaimer, I do have experience driving for nearly 2 years.
You can’t pick your examiner and won’t know who they are until after the test when you’re handed a card with further details. Examiner 1002 was amazing she was a very professional and courteous young lady in an experience that was very nerve wrecking for me.
This site is hit or miss. A big gamble when it comes to the examiners and pray that you get a good one. I’d prefer a different site if you want LOGICAL and FAIR grading.
Instructor 896 was soooo unprofessional. I start driving and he gave me a last min turn instruction while I was 1 inch away from the sign and then proceeds to scream at me after I missed the turn. Then as im parallel parking he screams at me again because im trying to park. I failed and while most of the stuff was my fault it was also on him and proceeds to put inaccurate points on my sheet such as poor steering control when I know I was on point with that. Please never come here and get instructor 896.
I took the test with examiner 482 and from the get go she started by disrespecting me and speaking in a condescending aptitude. Instead of saying when ready you can proceed, she just said on the green light. On the green light what? she was very unclear and the way she graded me was not indicative of how I drove. She gave me 10 points when approaching or at intersection saying I was not observing when thats all I was doing, I gave right of way to upcoming traffic and proceeded when it was safe. Do yourself a favor and if you want to take the road test at this location you’re better off going elsewhere!
Good location for road test, traffic is not busy. Examiners in general are professional and neutral, reasonable (I took my road test in this location twice so met 2 different examiners).
Examiner 486 is extremely nice, professional and constructive that made my test comfortable. Wish everyone can have a chance to take the test with her.
I took my road test here with examiner 482. I passed. The test itself is not very difficult, just be prepared to turn at intersections with separate turn lanes that you have to merge to before the light. The examiner was pretty neutral. She was relaxed and didn’t say anything that made me nervous. She was straight forward and just gave me directions on when to turn, park and do my u-turn.
482 Black lady with long bladed hair examiner was super assistive and extremely rude, the worst people I met.
She wait until the last minute to ask me to make the turn.
She kept looking on her paper while I did 3 point turn but complained I didn’t check when I turned. Even though I checked multiple times to made it obvious!!!
She had arguments with previous students and her family for like 10 mins, she had very bad mood. She is not professional to bring her negative energy towards me.
