What clients say about Days Inn by Wyndham Bronx Near Stadium in Bronx (NY)
-
The main reason to stay here is you can walk to yankee stadium and they have 20 parking spaces for the 50 rooms. We were lucky and got one.It is now called Nova hotel instead of Days Inn. The elevator was broken. We were woken up several times in the middle of the night by a man and woman screaming at each other in the lobby. Bathrooms need updating. Our towel rack was loosely held on with putty.

We checked in, went to our room, heard goings on, and was really scared, and left, because people were coming and going every hour, prostitution, we had to leave it’s not safe and the area is not safe, and I feel TripAdvisor shouldn’t even have them on their list of hotels, and feel you are responsible. We had kids with us and not a place for kids! We paid for this room and couldn’t stay so that was a lot of money lost! How do I get this money back! Do not go to this hotel!

It's a great place for a great night's sleep away from home I do enjoy it and will go back again

For the location I am more than happy with only because I go to the library often as well as going in the city. The people are very helpful which I can appreciate. Rooms are clean.

Definitely a shelter hotel. No room available till middle of 2024. Lady on the phone was nice but bad liar, Stated that they are renovating. I pass by everyday miss. But 3 stars for manners

I've stayed in this hotel for a couple of days as I visited my friend in New York. This place looks like a five-star hotel but it's not. I am impressed with their quality accommodation and reasonable price. The housekeepers clean every room regularly and the wifi has very good reception. I am highly recommending this hotel to anyone who plans to visit New York.

The Neighbourhood leaves a lot to be desired however the hotel itself is fine. They serve breakfast in the morning. I've not had a problem using them.

This place is a dump & the absolute worst. It’s a shelter disguised as a hotel. The city passed a law allowing homeless people to stay for the interim until they are found a home. This happens in the most of the hotels in the city but when you are looking at smaller hotels in NYC. Ask if they allow homeless families to stay there. If they do, skip that hotel.

Traveled from Boston to see the Sox play the Yankees. Area is rundown but good food and friendly people all around. Heavy spanish speaking. Walking distance to the game. Less than one mile. Front desk personnel were very personable and knowledgeable of the area. I'd give them a 10+

When I first arrived, there was nobody behind the desk. After about ten minutes, someone popped up, looked at me for a moment, continued doing what he was doing, and then told me "the system will be down until 4pm, we have someone working on it downstairs now." So I grabbed my bags and father out of the car and we waited on the broken couch in the lobby for another 15 or so minutes. At about 4pm, a woman walked in the front door, saw me sitting there and said "Checking in?" and was immediately able to help us. The broken system, it appeared, was fixed by her presence. Despite me feeling a bit lied to, she was very pleasant and welcoming. ||The room itself was pretty rough. The desk chair was heavily stained and odorous. There was an unidentified puddle in front of the toilet. The fan in the bathroom sounded as though it belonged in the engine of a fighter jet. The whole room smelled as though an entire bottle of Walmart Cologne No. 5 had been poured into the AC unit for circulation, hiding what smells I dare not assume. The carpet had transformed into a sampling dish of sorts, and by sorts I mean stains. Black stains, brown stains, etc. We did not feel comfortable walking around without footwear. The view left quite a bit to be desired, showcasing an overcrowded junk yard and the train (I will say, noise from the train was minimal). I was given a wifi code but was continually told there was an issue logging on, so it was not available.||Upon checkout, a new employee was working behind the desk. I'm sorry to say this gentleman was a bit less hospitable, the extent of our conversation not advancing past "Hello, I'd like to check out of room XXX," and "Okay, you're all set." Working in hospitality myself, I've come to expect at least the bare minimum when interacting with hotel personnel. I was not asked about my stay, the room, etc... though perhaps the answers to such questions are rhetorical to those creating the environment they reference. ||Upsides were that there was parking available on site and was only about 10 minute Uber ride to Yankee Stadium.

I had several issues with out room. The A/C was broken, phone didn't work in the room, the lamps didn't work & they didn't clean our room during our stay. My dad had to go downstairs and tell them that they didn't clean the room. Instead of sending someone to clean it, he was told by front desk clerk that she was unable to clean it bc that's not her job. She apologized & then gave my dad 2 trash bags, one to dump the trash in the room and another to put the dirty towels in. She instructed him to put the bags on the outside of the door and someone who come get the bags. Then she gave clean towels for the room. The breakfast was jst as bad. They only had one bagel and a few pieces of bread laying in the tray and few choices of cereal. It was as if the person for breakfast didn't show up that morning. The next morning however, the breakfast looked fresh & there was someone present to ensure that the guest had everything they needed. So we paid 412 to say two nights in the hotel and I felt at $200 a night the stay we were given was unacceptable. So I talked with them about being accommodated for our trouble. Well in the system the person who checked us charged us 412 but put in the system he put we paid $300 at a discounted rate. So the front desk clerk was like you already received a discount according to our system. I was SHOCKED! I said no we didn't! We paid $412 I showed them our receipt and asked to speak to the manager. And it was the manager who checked us in according to her. Anyway she ended up refunding us 200.00 once I threatened to go to coporate! If you pay in cash, they steal your money. The manager took 112.00 off that money we gave an pocketed it!

It was a short distance from Yankee Stadium. Junk yard on one side of the building, lumber/scrap yard on the other, so no view. Carpets in our room had stains and burn holes. Bed was comfortable and was able to sleep however, which was important for a tired traveler.

We went to nyc - bronx to see the game and visit family. It was a one night stay. I booked the hotel bc the pics look nice and the price was the lower i could find last min. We check in the room was ok, no view, bathroom was still dirty and the sheets had cigarettes burn holes on it. The police was in the hallway trying to arrest someone and with all that yelling and screaming i didnt sleep. So disappointed. Never again going there.

It was a convenient location to see a Yankee game! However, when we went to the room there were guests in the room! They were quick to leave when we turned the bathroom lights on as this is what roaches usually do! The sign stated they were sold out so we didn't say anything to anyone! The guy who helped with breakfast did an excellent job!

The clean room accommodated our family of four comfortably. It was a short 15 minute walk to Yankee Stadium for the game. Best of all was the care and concern of the hotel owner and staff to ensure a lost item was returned before we traveled home. Thank you Nick!!!

This is not a five star hotel but it is very nice at its level. It is clean and everything works. The rooms are actually appealing to the eye, which I think is very important. Prices are market rate. It is better than average when one is trying to cap off a night and make it great.

We accidentally thought we were staying at days inn, we weren't. We made it there and the front desk literally tried everything in their power to find our reservation. They were extremely nice about my mix up and even called us a taxi to get us to our other hotel. After a very long and stressful day it was nice to have someone helpful and professional handle a problem that could have turned into a disaster. After seeing their professional side we would stay there the next time we come into town.

163 a night plus tax and no fridge in the room. Then instead of issuing me a refund like I asked the ding bat at the desk charged me a second time!!! That's real great being she knew it would take me days to get my money back and saw I had a infant. TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER!!!!!

Standard clean no thrills hotel room vending machines were not in order but that can be solved with a quick walk to multiple stores in area. Remote wasnt working when we arrived but front desk took care of that pretty quick. Overall its a cool place to stay when you need a place to crash for the night

The hotel outside was ok but the inside was TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!! Floor 2 I stayed on was suppose to be Non Smoking! I got off the elevator and was greeted with cigarette smell and someone was smoking weed. The hallway carpet have bleached stains and was not vacuum! My room was ok but they didn't have a microwave and the carpet was dirty and not vacuum. I brought my own cleaning supplies and wiped down everything in my room and sprayed the hallway with Lysol because the cigarette smell was coming in my room from underneath the door. I needed some ice and the ice maker was dirty!! Continental breakfast was ok but the maintenance guys who are in charge of setting up breakfast was touching the food with the same gloves they touched the doors and trash cans with!!! Housekeeping was rude and not friendly. They eat breakfast with the hotel guest and they stared at you and talked about hotel guest in Spanish and it made you feel uncomfortable. The walk to the train was a distant but it was ok. We (my sister and I) felt safe walking back to our hotel at 12am at night. We went to 42nd street and had a wonderful time!!!

I was greeted by friendly staff and pleased to see a clean lobby and room. I'm rating the hotel 3 out of 5 stars because I had an issue with the lock on the door. My boyfriend and I were unable to unlock the door with our key because there was a technical issue with the lock. One of the staff member had to hook it onto a machine to open our door for us, which was a major inconvenience. Every time we had to enter our room, we had to notify staff and most times they were unable to enter the room until multiple tries. If not for that issue I would have definitely given the hotel a 5 star rating.

I was in New York for vacation and got this hotel trough Hotwire. I knew it was in the Bronx and which was not a good area like Manhattan, but I grew up in a area like this so I had no worries. The people were nice enough to move me to a Non Smoking room , after Hotwire had gotten me a Smoking room. Also like I said the area does bot look safe, but that is not the case. I walked from the subway to the Hotel with no problem at night. If you are worried tough, you can alwasy take a Uber from the Subway to the Room which will charge likee 10 dollars.

The Room I first recieved was on C level . As I entered the it was smoked fill to my breath away . The room had strong odor of smoke. I have asthma and I started wezzing right away . I didn't come from Nc to be sick. I did get a rm change but now there's no fridge for me to keep my insulin cold. No microwave to heat things up.. Oh I dint mention the carpet burns in the rm in the cellar . So do I need to say that my stay at the Days Inn was a bust I will never stay there again. I spent my whole time there sick. On this note still feeling bad . Not Happy At All.?

The rooms were beautiful and well-cleaned, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and delicious, and I didn't care about the location! I will recommend this to a customer around the area.

I lived near the area and I know it's not the best location view wise, but It's safe and clean and reasonable for it's price and location. You can walk to Yankee Stadium, Museums etc. The only thing I don't like is the car junk yard when you look out the window. The neighborhood is up and coming and with the new apartment buildings being built around that area now it's getting a face lift and hopefully will attract all races, cultures and backgrounds. Don't let the locale fool you. It's perfectly safe and I recommend it.

Positive: I'm not a casual hotel visitor, I nearly live in hotels for work. I've stayed in this hotel twice for a week at a time. one reviewer nailed it when they said doggy area, junk yard and nothing to look at but if you want a clean place with moderate fringe benefits to stay while you work or visit then this is the place. I doesn't look all that safe but it's surprisingly okay. Parking is a bit of a hassle but I never went without parking. The value is really good. Rooms are far better than what you would expect for a Days Inn but a bit below what you might expect at a Hampton Inn. conveniently located to Fordham road. I would recommend it for working visits without reservation. Better than staying across the GWB and dealing with traffic. If your looking for fringe benefits "Forgedaboudit"

Like others have said, its in a somewhat dodgy area, not the kind of area you would ideally want to be in as a tourist, as you cannot venture out for a look around really(there is nothing to see around except for the Yankee stadium which is not far away, but id still take a taxi there instead of walking). In all the hotel comes recommended, clean rooms with big screen LCD TV , cable and air conditioning, helpful staff, complimentary breakfast. If im ever in the Bronx again, i will use this facility as you are UNLIKELY to get a better hotel in this area for the cost per night.
