There is no way to contact customer service. Dialing the number provided on the internet results in a 5-second statement and immediate disconnection. Following the prompts on the customer portal resulted in NOTHING. My address does not exist on the system. I did not get a pickup last week, and I did not get one this week, which is why I was trying to contact customer service in the first place. There is absolutely no customer service. I will stop recycling and put all the recycling in the regular garbage going forward instead of letting it pile up in my house. Why is the City of Richmond paying this company?????

I've never dealt with a lazier bunch of county workers in my life. They will find absolutely any and every excuse to not pick up your trash, as possible. What am I even paying for? I guess it's time to switch to one of these private companies that are always knocking on my door. I know they're not going to do anything to fix these problems in response to all the negative feedback but I just wanted to vent for a second.

Not sure what the deal is but this company seems to knock over my trash can every time they come for pick up…today all they did was knock over my trash can and everything in it and just left it in the middle of the street!!! This is very unacceptable…

So horrible. This company doesn’t know what they are doing. Say they will do 1 thing then do the EXACT OPPOSITE. The 1 girl that seems to work there doesn’t know how to complete a simple paper & is overly sensitive. Definitely need new workers to pick up my trash.

Stephanie was supposed to submit a request last Tuesday I called 2 times about it. TODAY they have “no” request & refuse to take my dresser. This “woman” took my trash & let my dresser fall right off. UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

Took trash out of my can on camera yesterday & left it & when I called they didn’t want to come back today. So I’m going to continue to call until someone comes out to pick it up.

This company is a total joke. Constant issues with bulk pick up, 4th bulky pick up in a row I have had to call management to get involved since the service is marked “resolved” but still out there. A pick up truck gets sent and he stops, takes pictures and then drives off. I am assuming because its been weeks so it all couldn’t fit in the truck, which was reported to the contact center manager. He could have at least picked up what would have fit and then sent another truck. The bags in the back of his truck were another customers.

My trash pick up is on Fridays.i have my trash can out on the curb a day or two in advance . Every neighbor's trash can was emptied except for my own and one neighbor. I have notified them by phone and email, and they said they would send out a truck . It is now Wednesday, and my trash has still not been emptied . This is ridiculous. I think who was on that route that day should be fired !! No excuse whatsoever! If I could leave no stars, I would ! DO BETTER !!

We’ve had them for months now they are LAZY! Constantly missing pickups. We scheduled a bulk pick up and they still won’t pick it up. They don’t even always empty the trash cans. This company sucks. I pay more money for them then I did the other company and yet this is who Hopewell choose to do their trash and will write you a ticket for the trash that you already scheduled. Absolutely disgusting and ridiculous

They no longer offer recycling in our neighborhood. So rather than pick up their old can, they suggested we bring our recycling can to the landfill. Nice. And btw we have no way of even doing that with our car.

I would have gave them a negative score but goggle wouldn't let me. This company is getting millions of dollars from richmond city government to pick the Recycling up plus they make money off recycling. Join me call the city officials and complain let them know how disgusted we all are at this type of service from a contractor the city has hired they haven't pick up in 2 months because I called in a complaint wow

I am impressed by the customer service. I called them at 9:00 this morning after my neighbor informed me he witnessed the CVWMA truck knocked over my mailbox. I called and had to leave a voice mail message. My call was promptly returned. Everyone was very polite and apologized. Just before noon I had a new mailbox post installed. I am very impressed by the quality of customer service.

The least amount of stars that can be given is a 1 but they don’t deserve that! The truck drivers skipped my trash bins and complained to their management it was blocked. So we moved them into the street where it possibly couldn’t be blocked and they refuse to come by giving me no where to put my trash and forcing me to haul it off and dump it myself elsewhere

Hopewell just switched to this company. You get what you pay for. Customer service is non - existent. I don’t believe this department exists. Have called several times , left voicemail , emails and completed customer service surveys requesting a callback without response. Bagged garbage is left in can w /o explanation. Cans are damaged. They have a bulky waste process that is not followed. Thankfully they are not in the business of taking care of people.

Should I continue to recycle? Does the waste management company need to come pickup their recycle bin? They don't pick up our recyclying at all. I leave my bin out for 30 days at a time. They don't come. why then is the city of Richmond charging my account for waste pick up?? Maybe some outside agency needs to look into this.

Absolutely the motley CUE of companies. Horrific service they don’t pick up the recyclable bins we put out. It’s no secret Chesterfield fired these people —Henrico County pays for this nonsense. The CEO makes over $300,000 a year and then the public relations specialist is just a talking head. You want dysfunction you hire this company

Regular pick up days are constantly missed. My container was overflowing, so I put what was left in a box next to it. It sat on the curb all weekend and through a storm. Come home today after work and they kicked it over and didn't pick it up

I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service I have received. I asked over six weeks ago that my recycling Cart be picked up, as I simply cannot store it. At least five phone calls and six e-mails later, the cart remains in front of my house. At one point, one of their representatives told me that the cart being in front of my house, "was not their problem." Clearly, customer satisfaction isn't their problem either!

I have had multiple back-to-back missed pickups within the last year. When I reported the most recent missed pickups and called to follow up on their status, I was informed that I reported the missed pickups "outside of the grace period window" and that there would be no additional pickup scheduled. I have scoured the CVWMA website for any mention of a grace period window in which you must submit your complaint about a missed pickup, and I have not been able to find anything. According to the Customer Support agent I spoke with, this window is 48-hours. Perhaps this information should be posted on the CVWMA website; off the top of my head, maybe when you click the link that says "Report a Missed Collection". Seems like pertinent information for anyone clicking that link. UPDATE: Another missed collection, another call to CVWMA Customer Service to report the missed pickup, and another interaction with a Customer Service Rep who became instantly combative and could do nothing more than say that they would put the problem into the queue. No explanation for why missed pickups continually happen, no attempt to assure their customer that a solution is being worked on, not even a timeline for if or when I could expect an additional pickup to take place. I suppose I now understand why seemingly no one else on my block puts out a recycling can; they know that having it picked up is--at best--randomly determined.

I hate the recycling team here. They got every single person’s recycling on the block I live on except my house. It seems like the either the driver or the person that’s getting the bins are retarded or something. VA has the worst recycle staff I’ve ever seen in my life. Furthermore my trash bin was stolen in May and I requested to get a new one, still haven’t received it yet since then. This is ridiculous.

I tried to get a recycling cart for my house which didn't show up in their website's search function. I tried contacting CVWMA through several phone calls and never managed to get ahold of someone. I have left voicemails that were never returned. I have emailed multiple times and got a response once that I would get a recycling cart, but a week goes by and my ticket is updated and marked resolved despite never receiving a cart. Now a month later, I have still not received a cart and am still unable to get ahold of anyone to resolve this.

I understand everyone is dealing with staffing shortages. However, the driver stopped and looked at my can without getting off the truck and then keeps driving. Makes zero sense. Called 6 times, left messages for the supervisor, left messages on the answering service due to "high call volume" promising a call back by the end of the business day. No call backs yet and now they are not even answering. It would be frustrating enough if it was a free service. Paying for this is criminal, zero accountability.

It was bad enough when it was a "free" (paid for by tax) service, but now Chesterfield County actually makes us pay for the terrible customer service and 1-1/2 week delays in pickup. Yeah yeah...Covid. How is it then they do not miss garbage pickups then? Parking is tight where I live, so everyone having recycling bins everywhere is problematic. I called today to find out when/if they are coming since it is a week and two days late. I was put on hold for ten minutes and then had to leave a message, which of course will go unanswered. The man that does pick up our recycling when it happens is very nice. Otherwise, this company is terrible and the program is a sham. They are still getting paid by the localities (aka us through taxes), but aren't providing service and over 50% gets thrown in the garbage by them during processing.

I’m giving 2 stars because until recently I rarely had issues with my recycling service. However lately it has been terrible. My recycling has been missed the last 3 collection days in a row. What’s really irritating is that for the the first 2 missed collections the truck came on my street but didn’t even drive all the way down to my house. I have sent emails that have not been responded to and getting someone on the phone is beyond difficult. I finally spoke with a representative today who said she would make note of my missed collection and that it would picked up on the next collection day. We’ll see.

Besides sending emails to cancel and push back pick up dates, what proactively is happening about this recycling issue? Crews should be working daily to fix this problem. How about opening recycle centers longer for those of us who don't want trash sitting around our home? How about issuing a credit to those of us who have to actually go into the recycle centers? The city charges the residents for this program that they make money on. Please refund /prorate this charge until cvwma can effectively do their job.

Horrible service. Service is included with Chesterfield County taxes, but the service never happens. Contacted customer service via email. The response came from the CSR supervisor who just responded they would remind me of the pick up days. I didn’t need a reminder. I needed them to pick up my full bins, containing the correct recyclable materials, being that I had been placing the containers by the road, as instructed on the correct pickup days. Pickup service and customer service deserves 0 stars being they do 0

Totally incompetent. They have a guy on my route that keeps forgetting our trash or the neighbor's trash. You call in they tell you to put the cans out and they will pick it up by the end of the day and that never happens. The HR customer service over the phone is a joke. I advise anyone that has a problem to call higher up go around customer service and call somebody on the executive level. They literally do not care! And this has occurred doing holiday weeks!

Have had good service for years. Yesterday, they missed our green recycle bin while emptying those around it. Called twice yesterday(Friday) and told they can't get in touch with trucks and would send out when one returns. Hmm, no cell phones. Called Saturday, and as I write this I have been in queue position 1 for over 35 minutes, Moving from 4 to 1, my guess as someone hangs up in frustration, the queue position moves up While I did other things I kept my head set on and have been on hold for 57 minutes. There is no one there; be simpler to say that. Very strange.
