Out neighbor had an overfilled bin and when the man came to pick up, several pieces fell out of their bin. Rather than just leave, he got out of his truck and put the fallen pieces in his truck. He easily could have just driven off, but his care about the cleanliness of our neighborhood is very much appreciated. Thank you to the gentleman who picked up our neighborhood recycling! I wish I knew your name to give you a proper shout out!
I go to this facility regularly, and employees are friendly and helpful. The owner is a great guy, always friendly and helpful. The prices are always fair, sure sometimes another place may offer a few cents more but this is the only place I go. They do have rules like not taking apart window air conditioners and releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere illegally on or around the property... It's best to have everything broken down and separated into different containers...even if you are not sure about something put all of those items in one container or place...they will help you figure it out...doing this will ensure that you get the correct price for your materials and everything is done quickly, not just for you but other people in line. Lol don't be that person holding everyone up because you didn't sort your materials or are trying to disassemble things at the scale instead of at home or heck stop at any parking lot and do it....I hope you have just as good of an experience as I always do ! 2025 update! Still My favorite place to take scrap! Same owner who is still a great fellow, the employees are friendly as long as you have basic courtesy and at least try to abide by their rules. Mike the owner is a honest and fair business man. All his employees work hard and are helpful...since I retired this is a great way to make a little extra cash from saving my recycling cans extra...
Great place to recycle all you metals, batteries and several other recyclables items. Drive over scale or pull up to dock and off load your materials get a pay slip and walk up to their pay machine and get paid!
My second visit to this particular recycling center. I went through the process going through the scale, dropping off my truck load of steel and then to the dock where they take the aluminum and other materials. I go through the scale for second time to finish up my visit. After getting the receipt, I park my truck to cash in the receipts. I had a $21 dollar receipt for the aluminum and other items and $68 dollar receipt for truck of load of steel, seemed like a reasonable payout. Right before I cash them in, I get called back to the scale office for some unknown reason. They ask for my receipt for the $68 dollar steel load. I didn't think nothing of it and they gave me a new receipt for $28 dollars. The lady in the office claimed she made a mistake and did a poor job of explaining it. I wasn't sure what happened, I definitely didn't feel right about what happen. To the owner of Richmond Recycling Inc., I hope your employee isn't screwing up and losing you money with careless mistakes or worst they're stealing from you. Next time I consider going there to do business, I'm cashing my receipts, not stopping for anything.
Great place to take your scrap metal. Mike the owner is a really good guy and good prices for your metal. Always friendly and very nice customer service. Would take any scrap metal here instead of any place else.
Got back to me right away through email and recognized my item from the email picture and treated me with the up most respect. Professional and honored his word with the price he sent me through email
Very friendly and helpful. I will drive 45 minutes to take my scrap there before I go anywhere else from here on out. Don't seem greedy and gave me the best price out of 6 or 7 other places I called first who's prices were about 15 cent less than what Richmond recycling paid me. See ya tomorrow!!
Without a doubt...Best place in town for your junk automotive cores ....rims...batteries and catalytic converters...Honest pricing and great customer service....
If you don't know what you're doing, you will be ripped off entirely. I brought 200 pounds of metal (though the scale bounced between 200 and 220, with 220 being the more prevalent number) and received a grand total of $6 for all of it. I figured that, even though I'm new to this, it would be no issue because the individual I came with frequents the business to drop off cans. Instead, I was directed to place everything in the steel pile. I wouldn't be writing this, had I known that most of the weight I dropped off yesterday was aluminum, including an aluminum engine. If you like businesses that will prey on your inexperience, even when you are accompanied by a frequent patron, this is the place for you.
After this experience, I will no longer trust any place that doesn't tell me to sort the metal. They're probably trying to rip me off.
