I love this place. The employees are all very nice. I just do very very small scale stuff, and there is never a line at Stratton to do this. They don't nitpick too much or try to rip you off like other yards. Some other places might pay more, but this is right there in Richmond and my car cannot hold enough for it to be worth driving elsewhere. Overall this place is a really great experience and I'm glad that they are there.
Brought them 3200 pounds of mostly steel Rotors from my repair shop and they gave me $127, what a joke. I am new to taking steel to the scrap yard, so i did some research after that it turns out that each ton of steel is worth about $450.
A bit inconvenient to enter and park. You have to pull onto the scale forward and then back up slowly. The staff were polite and helpful. If you arrive and someone is already at the dock, parking will be even more difficult! Overall, everything went quickly — the whole process took about 50 minutes.
Trucks carrying very full loads not covered. Please help us fight the litter problem on 95 and our surrounding roads. Safety is extremely important. Hope you can improve your safety culture.
Friendly and pretty quick service. Don't use Waze for directions here because they bring you onto 95 and tell you that you've reached your destination.
For a scrapyard, this place is extremely neat & organized. To me it seemed like a large operation but the people that I came across were very helpful in directing me in the right direction. And making sure I didn't get squished by any large equipment.
Picked up over $5k worth of scrap and 3 months later I still don't have my money. Excuses after excuses, complete run around as to why they haven't sent payment yet. The only guy there "Jon" that can help is never there.
I had never been to a scrap metal place before so I didn't really know what I was doing, but every staff member I interacted with was kind and patient.
