I delivered 3 brand new containers/ dumpsters, called a day before nobody answered, arrived and in the morning and they couldn’t figure it out who is supposed to unload, a 20 min took 2h, productivity at its finest!
Came here went through scales, unloaded everything and the woman on the speaker said come around to blue stairs and get your money. So we did!! Now they are saying they are closed and we have to come back tomorrow to get paid with no receipt, signed anything that we were even here in the 1st place. Wth would ya tell someone to come get their money and leave. Wth kinda place is this . Absolutely do not recommend this place. Said they would give me the big bosses #. They did not!!! they called him and said my number wasn’t right smdh
Easy to get around in. The lady in the office was really nice. The loader was nice. 2 stars because I was 4 hrs at dock. Loaded/unloaded 4 more trucks while I was at the dock. Won't go back for another load.
The Crane operator is kind of racist he has been there for almost 40 yrs he made a comment to a couple of employees. Since he been there for so many years his comment was basically swept under the rug. The manager also lies to possible employees to get them in the door and have them do something totally different they make you work outside in all weather conditions and the summer they still want you to wear long sleeves gloves long pants in 100 degree weather WOW!!!!!!
Pricing over the phone doesn't match what you get paid. They don't tell you how they classify the type of metal within its category before you dump. I told them what I had before I came in. They seem to be vague with there tickets on purpose. However, before I left I called them and told them what happened and they corrected it. The gentleman on the phone was nice but the woman at the window acted like she had better things to do.
The staff at Sims Metal in Richmond are some of the best people I've ever had the pleasure of working with they treat customers as more than customers once you get to know the employees at Sims you will like them so much you won't want to go anywhere else
Horrible, took over 1300 pounds of steel the magnet operator sat and watched us unload all of it by hand , Will not return to many scrap yards in Richmond for that crap.
