Used to be great, take your cans elsewhere. The manager of the location is now refusing cans from companies that owe them money. So even if you paid your deposit on the can or bottle they will refuse it. Nirvana water is currently one of them. Will be getting ahold of DEC to file a complaint for non compliance for volitaion of the "Bottle Bill of Rights"
Today was the second time I was turned away because they were "closing early" despite there being plenty of time to return my bottles and cans. Clerk was rude to me and told me it was too late to cash in 2 small bags of bottles within 30 minutes before closing. I wouldn't refer this bottle return to anybody the staff are lazy and don't want to do their job. If I could I would give them 0 stars but in order to warn people I have to give them at least 1. I will not return there, they've lost my business.
Never used a bottle return center before, but the fella working was amicable and helpful. Quick, too! I had 4 large bags and I was out in maybe 5-6 minutes.
Quick service, accurate change, good parking. They're everything a bottle and can return needs to be. The staff was even kind and professional which sometimes feel like a bonus these days!
Stopped there because I was in the area, two weeks in a row! Tony is awesome and made returning the bottles there a pleasure . I live in Cicero and will bring my returns here when I'm in the area . Thanks Tony.
I was just at the Thompson road location and they were closed. Some one was in there working and the hours said open 9 to 5. Doors were locked. I come from mattydale because of the fast service.
The Center now accepts wine bottles for true recycling, and was recommended for that by the county's Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA). The staff member was friendly and efficient despite being busy. Good experience.
As a rule the best customer service and fairly quick. They have been closed for at least a week and not answering the phone. I hope everything is okay.
Worst customer service!First she saw us waiting outside to come in after lunch that ended at 3 at 310, than started doing stuff in the back instead of helping us!
First time I went there it was quick and easy. Today the woman working took 30 minutes to process 11 dollars worth of bottles for customer in front of us. She then proceeded to tell us the machine is down so she can't do our bottles. She was talking about the sorting machine in back/side of shop. I don't see how this would impact her counting our bottles. She was more then happy to take the next customer who had 1 small bag of bottles but our order was apparently to much to handle. I generally don't leave bad reviews anywheres but to see an employee moving around like a slug and making us wait 30 minutes to tell us to go to their "other" location is just too much.
To start with, there’s a sign on the door that says you must wear a mask. There were two gentleman with a pick up truck and a large wagon with thousands and thousands of bottles bagged up. Neither were wearing a mask. I was very uncomfortable and very upset..It’s people like this that are spreading this disease. The bottle return company is perpetuating this by not forcing people to put a mask on. The amount of bottles they were bringing in, the least they could’ve done was put a mask on because there was no way to avoid them. I’m gonna call the county and file a complaint.
They took my bottles and gave me money. There was nothing special about this place. In fact, their website says they have a passion for bottle and can redemption and they are clean and friendly, but it's not even close to the cleanliness shown in their pictures (although I couldn't tell if the ants were in the pics or not) and there was NO passion. I mean, the guy wasn't rude, but he certainly wasn't friendly, either.
Closing for lunch at 1pm now? Update the hours on the internet before I drag my 5 bags to the door (a few minutes before 1 mind you) only to didn’t the door locked and 2 people working! Why the shut down? Some of us use our lunch break to get these tasks done! Will find another place to go from now on.
We have been using Thompson road for the past 3 years for our can and bottle drives. I tried to set another one up recently and didn't hear back from anyone. I even went into the store and the employee working didn't want to know anything told me to go on the website and fill out a form. I did that and still have not heard anything back from them.
I usually enjoy coming to this location. Today was a different story. I will say I came in with a very large amount to return but that shouldn’t matter. The woman working was not pleasant. She screamed through the line several time “I’m going to lunch, so you will be waiting in line for him.” To a woman in line a few behind me “you do know there are 47 other locations around here you can go to.” To a man a few behind me WHO WAS DONATING HIS so rudely asked him where he wanted them donated to then proceeded to yell at him and snatch from his hand as he went to put them with his others to donate. Kept repeating to me that she was going to lunch at 2pm (I think about 15 times). I get it. It’s coming up on your lunch but there is a huge line and how I was taught is customers come first. To rudely announce over and over that you basically weren’t going to wait on these people is unnecessary and down right rude. The man working next to her said to another customer “I make 11.45 and hour and you will get $11.45 worth of work out of me.” Ok working at a bottle return isn’t an ideal job but there is no reason to be so miserable and mean to customers. Who would want to go back after that!! Hopefully the little boy returning all his saved up bottles and cans to take his friend who hasn’t had fun all summer will enjoy the few bags I gave him and the few other gave him too. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE PEOPLE ! Today visit was my last for this establishment. I usually tip nicely when we return cans and bottles. NOT TODAY !!!
This facility is easy to get to, with adequate parking and accurate count/money for my cans and bottles. Also open longer than other places. I wish some of the staff would communicate in words...it's creepy to greet someone only to get a vacant stare. It's good they can handle large volume customers, but l don't bother going in if a truck is parked in front of the door because that means somebody has dozens of bags and us smaller volume customers won't be served for 15 minutes at least.
