Thanks guys, this is my second time getting an inspection. The procedure is smooth and timely. I hope some day the company will do something about the heavy tire/ rubber scent/smell. It has to be bad for you all respiratory system.

This local center refused to service my vehicle because it was a Tesla, and their service technician refused to work on it for political reasons. They still had me come to my appointment, knowing I had a Tesla, during a snowstorm just to tell me that as soon as I walked in the door. I was friendly and left. I also have the entire interaction on video and when I showed a few people their jaws dropped.

I paid to have my car repaired at Pep Boys, but within just 2 days after I picked it up my car it started having issues again. When I brought it back, instead of honoring their work, they charged me for additional diagnostic fee. They claim “it wasn’t related to the previous issues”, which is impossible in just 2 days my car is broken again? They want me to pay more money to fix the same problem. Which is BS. Very disappointing experience and poor service. Please DO NOT waste your money and time here. The worst shop in Syracuse.

absolutely terrible service. made an appointment for two vehicles to get new snow tires put on at the same time and when we arrived they said they could only do one at a time. the first one took 5 hours, and then we dropped off the second car and that one got done right as they closed. when i picked up the first car, they forgot to give me my other tires so i can have them for when winter was done. it was a complete disaster. fast forward a month and i can't drive either car going faster than 45mph. took it to my cousins shop and both of the cars tires were completely unbalanced. which balancing is a part of the routine when you get tires put on. when we called after we found out the first car was unbalanced the person who answered the phone was completely brushing us off and basically didn't care. we called customer service and they never reached back out or anything. if it was just one car that would be understandable. i know mistakes happen but both vehicles not being balanced is insane. and completely unprofessional. shouldn't have to pay 160 dollars for both cars to get balanced when i paid pepboys to do it. definitely will not ever come back to get anything done with my car.

I have never had an issue whenever I have had my car serviced. I have gone to pep boys for a long time and will continue to do so. The employees there are polite and knowledgeable on what they are doing.

Got the job done in a timely manner when you go there it just doesn’t look like it’s open. It’s so dark not just on the inside but also the outside can you kind of feel bad because the mechanics they all look like they were stressed out so you feel bad for bringing in your car so I only gave it a low rate because I just felt bad and I just don’t like how dark it is

It was New Year’s Day, I was on my way to catch a flight to see family. My tire exploded on the way. So many nice people i spoke with but a lot of their stores were closed and they were unable to help. I called and spoke to Sir Tim and he was very excellent and even told me if I use their towing it will be cheaper. They were the only people available to help and my last resort. Gary who towed my car was like an Angel out of a movie! He was absolutely awesome, kind and was a huge relief for me as I was about to miss my flight. Wonderful! When I got to Pep Boys our friend Sir Tim was wonderful to welcome as was the team with their smiles. They love helping people first and foremost and after they love doing their work. Sir Tim and his team, Peter and a younger friend all made it all quick and easy. I did not even care to look at how well the work was done because I firmly believed in them and their professionalism. Way to go to step up guys! Really appreciate you guys and your help. Couldn’t have made it home without you! You guys are the best thing in the 50 mile radius in the Syracuse area! Thank you for everything. Please keep doing what you do best! Appreciate the rescue! ❤️ God bless you and your families! Have a wonderful new year! 2026! If you make an appointment online, they will call you to cancel the appointment 2 hours before the set time. It has now happened 2 out of the 2 times I've tried use their service. One for a simple state inpection and the other for tire services. If you're "too busy" to handle customers with an appointment, then what's the point of having a way to even setup an appointment?

I Spent $20 and was quoted $850 for a simple repair, I went elsewhere and the same work that had been quoted was done for $136.

Best thing about this experience was the guy behind the counter. Skip was great, unfortunately the "mechanic" wasn't skilled enough to take care of the issue I had. I ended up taking my car across town to Mavis. When I arrive they asked if I wouldn't mind rescheduling because whoever does their booking schedule 12 jobs for one guy. When I was growing up this was a respectable company, I would never bring my car here again.

Not only did they try to scam my customer into $500 worth of work for tie rods that weren’t even bad. They were just too lazy to break the nuts.free They told my customer that I am a lazy scumbag Mechanic when I’m the number one Mobile Mechanic in the area in a 50 mile radius!!! Pictures are below they said that they were not able to do the alignment because they were in horrible shape the threads … Called they did nothing but disrespect me mad because they tried to scam somebody and didn’t get the work!! If you want a real Mechanic call 315s mobile mechanics

Terrible you would think they will install your tires right and very slow service I spent two days with this shop for the same service I paid over $1900 for tires now my car shakes in the front the only thing they can suggest is the rotate my tires when they they didn’t even have the proper equipment for my vehicle in the first place nor could they perform an alignment after installation

Work was done well. Time frame quoted was astronomically long. Work was completed with reasonable time frame though. The store could have had a better customer lounge though with all the space that they had.

A Matter of Trust: Why I Won't Be a Customer How can I trust a company with my car's safety when their customer service is so poor? If every employee I encountered showed the same disregard for customer experience, I have no reason to believe their mechanical work would be any different. I initially contacted your customer service to get a quote for four new tires and a brake replacement. The prices were comparable to a dealership, but the appointment times were more convenient. I was told that an in-person evaluation was necessary to determine the exact cost for the brakes, so I scheduled a diagnostic appointment. My first appointment was for a Friday. When I arrived, a service agent told me they were too busy and that the customer service team, who "are across the world and don't check our calendar," had no right to book me in. I was rescheduled for Monday at 8:30 a.m. However, when I showed up, the front desk agent claimed there was no appointment on file. The agent then asked why I would be scheduled so early, as the mechanics don't even arrive until 10:00 a.m. This consistent lack of communication and professionalism across multiple touchpoints has destroyed my confidence in your business. If I can't trust you to handle a simple appointment, how can I trust you to perform critical repairs on my vehicle? My car's safety is non-negotiable, and I cannot in good conscience trust it to a team that has already demonstrated such a clear lack of competence and respect for its customers.

Went in for an inspection. Tire got accidentally damaged but stew was a gentleman about it, came clean, gave me options and worked it out as well as could be. Thanks for doing the right thing when the world we live in isn’t making it easy!

The technicians were courteous and efficient. Don’t make an appointment for the same day bc they are unable to perform any services on your car. Something is wrong with the system.

I took my car to the Erie Blvd. Pepboys location when I noticed my car had a flat tire after work. I asked to have the tire fixed along with an oil change and tire rotation. When I retrieved my car the “change engine oil” prompt came up immediately as if no work had been done and the sticker had not been changed on the upper left corner of my windshield updating when my next service would be due. To compound matters, the warning light for my tires came up because the tire in need of repair was inflated to 50 and was still in the same location as when I brought it in, clearly indicating my tires were not rotated. I went back inside to question the work i paid to have done and was brushed off and instructed to drive back near the bay doors so they could let air out of my over inflated tire. I have zero confidence that I received all the work that I paid for. I believe they plugged the tire and scammed me for the oil change and tire rotation. I will never use this location again! The staff was dismissive and unprofessional. Buyer beware!!

I got my brakes done there less than year ago, they charged me over $1500 for al 4 brakes and some other maintenance. 3 days after I got them done the brakes were still squeaking. When I called I was told "its just the shipping oil". why the shipping oil wasn't cleaned off the braking surface during installation is beyond me but I digress. A week after that I made an appointment just for them to cancel and say their brake guy was out. Finally getting the appointment I was told there's nothing wrong and it should stop. Its been almost a year and it hasn't. I started getting a crazy scraping sound from my right rear the other day and took my wheel off today (mothers day) just to find the brake pads were non existent. Brakes don't grind down to bare metal in less than a year. DO NOT COME HERE YOU WILL BE SCAMMED. If I could give less than 1 star I would. I was warned prior to the original appointment and I dismissed it because that location has been there since I was kid. I should have taken those warnings serious.

Today is now the 2nd time this location has allowed me to make an appointment for an inspection only to later text me that their inspector has medical issues and will not be back any time soon. I understand inspections don't pay but don't allow customers to even schedule if you have no intentions of honoring the appointment. I'd rather get a ticket than go here for anything ever again. Bad business

During a terribly busy time in the middle of a snow storm, Pep Boys were able to get my daughter’s car fixed and back on the road faster than anyone else could. I appreciate their speed and professionalism, but most importantly their honesty about what needed to be done and what didn’t. Thank you!

Today for the (no exaggeration here) 8th time in less than 2 years, after making an appointment for service at this location I got a text the morning of (7am) telling me it was cancelled- sometimes with explanation, sometimes without. I understand being understaffed, I understand things happen, but 8 times in 2 years is insane. I have been going here for over ten years. Never again.

I have been through hell and back with another service shop. My check engine light came on every time I picked up my car. Finally the other shop got it right and no more check engine light. I got an excellent deal on 4 new tires for my 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. I also requested an inspection. I was dreading getting the call finding something wrong even though I had new tires and new brakes. It seems shops find a license plate light out or something. I received a call from Pep Boys saying I could bring my car in early. Talk about a wonderful experience. I believe I dealt with John R. From start to finish his customer service was top notch. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. He is definitely an asset to Pep Boys along with the other employees who worked on my vehicle. Thank you to the entire staff. I highly recommend and will go back whenever necessary. The shop deserves a round of applause. Thank you John Reith and the entire service team.

Bought a set of winter tires from them in September ‘23. A couple of them have had a slow leak since then. Called today to see if they could break them down and remount. I even took the tires off the truck. Cody tells me sometime next week. Luckily, that’s the only time I spent money there. Won’t make that mistake again.

Went for an alignment right after getting new tires and they did not do a good job because the vehicle kept pulling to the right. Had to reschedule again and now it's pulling to the left. How hard is it to do a simple alignment? Don't bring your vehicle here the technicians are incompetent and management will not care or check the work.

My air conditioner quit so I went online and scheduled an appointment for the next day to get it checked out. I arrived and they were ready for me. They found it out of freon, gave me a detailed price to evac and recharge it, and had it ready to go in a half hour. Total time was 1 hour from start to finish. I am very happy with everything.

The Syracuse store was amazing. The day before a busy travel holiday I had an issue with my car. Called all over and could not get an appt with anyone. Contacted Pep Boys on Erie Blvd and the manager didn't have an appt but told me I could bring it in and drop off and they would most likely be able to get to it at some point during the day. Well less than an hour and a half after arriving they had looked at, diagnosed and fixed my car! I have always been a loyal Pep Boys customer and now even more can say how highly I recommend them.

Service desk was not up to date with the progress of repairs and they were slightly disinterested to answer my questions. Had to order parts that took one week to arrive. Work not completed on the day I was told it would be ready. Labor was way too expensive and the prices for the parts were highly inflated. Any other place I could have had it done for about 1k less and done quicker. When I picked up the car I noticed several things were not done that were asked to be done. I was charged for them and had to wait there for a bit while the corrections were made. Never again will I go there.
