Overall great experience! I came in for new brakes and an oil change, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. The staff was friendly, professional, and took the time to clearly explain what needed to be done without any pressure or upselling.
The work was completed efficiently. Pricing was fair and transparent, which I really appreciated.

I have been coming here almost 10 years to this location, we just had an inspection and oil change paid to repair our brakes for the inspection. We left and immediately noticed the heater making a loud noise, I gave it the afternoon to see if it settled, when it did not I called the next day to have you look at it, after calling 6 times without any answer I finally spoke to a "Bill" he was unbelievably rude, "we worked on your brakes why would the heater make noise?". After restating they had done more then brakes and the problem started immediately after we left, he set an appointment for 11am. My husband who works at 2 AM went directly after work, when he arrived Bill told him no one would look at the car, so after wasting my time on the phone, and my husbands time to go there we received zero support. With service like this, I will be cancelling my firestone card and finding a different store that wants to do professional business.
Extremely Dishonest and Unsafe Service — Please Avoid This Location
This review is for Firestone Complete Auto Care at 711 Erie Blvd E, Syracuse, NY.
In January 2024, I brought my car to this Firestone location because my tail lights kept failing and I had a brake fluid leak. The older white male manager with grey hair inspected my car and told me that both rear brake calipers were seized, which he claimed was causing the brake fluid leak. He also said that a steering linkage connected to my left front wheel was “about to come off” and that it was “very dangerous.”
He then gave me a repair estimate of over $2,300, including replacing the two rear calipers, replacing the steering part, replacing all four brake pads, flushing brake fluid, and even replacing all four tires. I refused the unnecessary tire replacement, and he lowered the estimate to around $1,500, which I unfortunately agreed to.
However, after the repair:
The brake fluid leak continued,
The steering still felt loose,
And soon afterward, my steering completely failed, leaving me stranded at night. I had to call AAA and tow the car to another repair shop.
The technician at the second shop inspected the vehicle and told me:
Firestone never replaced the steering linkage they charged me for,
They never replaced the two rear brake calipers they charged me for,
They only replaced the brake pads,
And they charged roughly double the normal market price for the parts they actually installed.
In other words, this Firestone location charged me for major safety-related repairs that they did not perform.
This is not just poor service — it is dishonest, unsafe, and extremely dangerous.
If the steering failure had happened at higher speeds, the consequences could have been disastrous.
I strongly warn anyone considering this shop:
Avoid this Firestone location at 711 Erie Blvd E.
If you cannot personally watch the repair process, your safety and your wallet may be at risk.

Bill is very short, disrespectful with customers, even hanging up on people. I understand that they are short handed but that's not the customers fault.
3 hours for a simple mount and balance.. Meanwhile, people coming in well after me with more complex issues coming and going. What was the point of making an appointment a week in advance if I was going to be sidelined anyway?
I often get my car serviced here when I’m in town visiting family. The service is always quality, professional, and done in reasonable time frame with good communication on expectations. Recently I had a car situation when I was in the Adirondack region but planning to drive out to Syracuse for a family reunion on Labor Day weekend. While I ended up getting service a bit closer as the drive to them was too long to make on a spare, the staff answered several of my calls and they were very helpful helping me think through the situation and consider my options. It was a stressful to sort out so I really appreciated their kind expertise. Highly recommend the team at this location!

Failed inspection for a tire. I didn't buy their $273 tire. I got tire and went back. Tech decides he wants to do a deeper dive. Now I need to get $1000 in repairs. Scammers!
So good! Excellent service! Was on a road trip out of state and tire went flat at side wall due to object from road...called and they said come on in! They replaced tire and got me on the road quickly! Definitely great staff and service! Thank you!
Took my car in for an alignment, total went from $119 to $161. when asked why is it some much higher they advised, I was charged 30 for looking over the car(which was not needed, nor did they ask if I wanted. Its a new car). also for a calibration that i was not advised was needed.

Don't leave your car here, they will damage it. I sent my car for an alignment and let it there for next day pick-up. When came back to recuperate my car they were a fresh scratch on the rear left side of the car. Jake, the manager told me to go home, and his insurance will take care of it. This happened on July 11, 2022. Today July 27 a guy from the Bridgestone claim department named John called me with a very disrespectful and nasty tone denying to fix my car. Please, guys, avoid leaving your car there because it will get damaged. Case to be continued...
Some of the services they offer are well worth it such as lifetime alignments and road hazard for your tires. They do fine work in many aspects, and are unfortunately necessary. However, the quality of their work fluctuates frequently, sometimes being exceptional, often adequate, but far too frequently being subpar. It all depends on who is working when, and who they're recently hired, fired, or who's left or transferred.
Additionally, despite the business claiming to promote safe health policies during this pandemic, much like many hypocritical businesses out there, many employees do the bare minimum or even less. Too often it's the case that an employee is answering the phone with their mask off while customers are in plain view in the reception area, only to put it on lazily after they've ended their call. Incredibly frustrating and concerning, concidering I've seen school children be more consistent in wearing masks.
If the business were most consistent in their quality and policies overall, I'd definitely rate them higher.
I do all my own work but I bring all my vehicles here for tires, alignments etc. They do a good job and the people are friendly. As far as them trying to sell you more service yeah it's a chain and they are trained to duo that. Know what you want to have done and tell them to do just that
