New system is not working. There are too many steps to take to sell your scrap. Very inefficient, also they were inaccurate on the weights of the buckets. Ripping people off. Go somewhere else
As a women and also first time customer I was unsure what the process was like and they was very busy. A manager named Angel politely walked me through out the whole process while managing to attend to the many others in need of his direction/correction. I can't Thank him enough for his patience and politeness.
My vehicle was damaged by an Okon truck that failed to secure its load (rocks were flying out of the rock hauler). I attempted to resolve my claim with Okon's management, but they were not responsive. I would not trust a company that puts other drivers in danger when hauling rocks and gravel.
I got ripped off on my cast iron at the big scale and took in 300 lbs of cast iron and got paid 30 dollars it wasn't worth the time to go there when I should have went to the other place where I would have been paid more
My dad died and I have been cleaning out one of the properties he left me.
Yesterday was my 2nd time coming out to the yard. The employees didnt help on either day I scrapped. I ended up getting hurt at this place as result of it falling and having to go to ER and now on crutches. For a full size refrigerator, a small refrigerator, a cast iron back to a bench and other metals I got $12 and change for it. I was too much in pain to give a damn at that moment.
Been to a few other recycling centers around the DFW and this one is hands down the cleanest, most efficient and well kept place. They don't short you, they help you separate anything that might be mixed up on the scale and they're nice people. Other yards simply don't compare.
Been here multiple times with oversized loads. Everytime I come here, they have grown and have become alot more busy. They must offer good prices for scrap metal.
Abusers… I took $300 worth of scrap metal to Okon, which they paid at $0.06 a pound back then, but they charge me $1.00 @ pound for a short section (2 feets) of an I-Beam, which was scrap too. Since I was needing the I-Beam, I walk away with $20 and 280 pounds of I-Beam. I resent the transaction for years, so I quit doing business with Okon.
Loaded me 3 days before my appointment loaded in an hour and 30. Only downside to this place is the entrance theres one scale and you have to scale coming in and out
Everyone was friendly. I was a deer in headlights and probably an inconvenience but they were still very nice to help me out. I was in and out very fast.
Even the other customers were very helpful and friendly
This place rocks. Take the time to get a membership. After that you can spend whatever time you need to finish Scrapping your Metals? Etc. They buy almost everything, just take off all the plastic. Circuit boards to radiators to ceiling fans w/out blades. Good prices compared to others in town... the big scale for truckloads is generally busy but not to bad.
I really appreciate how their yard is concreted and that they keep it clean. I see their employees running magnets over the road all the time to make sure they don't get a flat tire. They really care about their customers and get shows.
My buddy and I stopped by for the first time. Sold our long iron here and we left very satisfied with thw amount of money they paid us per pound. Definitely coming back to Okon Metals.
This is one of the cleanest and well organize scrap yards I have ever been to. I like the staff and they have the best prices in the whole Dallas metroplex. Come check this place out for sure.
Everyone there was incredibly helpful. Especially Louis and Bennie. I really appreciate that they were so friendly. These guys helped me turn a bad day around just by being so awesome. Got a good price for my scrap metal, too.
These guys are the best hands down my radiator hose busted while I was in line they helped me out an fixed it for me great customer service the will have me business for life
This is probably the most customer service oriented yard in Dallas. They seem to genuinely care about us and the employees seem pretty happy too. That says a lot about a place.
Kim (not sure of last name) has been a lot of the reason we go to Okon in the first place. She is a true asset to Okon.
I've been recycling for 11 years now. The staff and the employees are very kind and helpful. They are honest with their prices! Its been 5 years now sense I've Been Dealing with them . And i will never go any where else! I'm fighting cacer and everyone their stops what there doing. To ask me how I'm feeling. It makes my fight so much easier! And you can't get that anywhere else but OKON!!!
