Jon has amazing customer service and his pricing is reasonable. He won’t oversell you for things you don’t need and does honest work. Can’t say enough good things about him.

The vehicle was towed to AAMCO because it wouldn't start. Jon of AAMCO was very responsive and great to work with. AAMCO jump-started the vehicle and conducted a diagnosis effort. No problems were discovered. The vehicle started fine and we were called promptly to pick up. AAMCO did not charge for all the labor and effort expended. We will gladly do business with this shop in the future as needed.

These guys are amazing they have the most patience. With every customer that comes in. Plus they are very fair and won't take advantage of any person, that does business with them. A highly recommend these guys to anyone. That needs help with their car? I love the business and customer service. Thank you.

So here’s my story I purchased a van from Car Max in February 2025 I brought the car in 2 weeks later and was told the transmission was no good and was being taken to Amaco - perfect they rebuilt the transmission and Car Amx covered the $6200 charge to rebuild! I have had the van for 4 more months and 15,000 miles put on the new rebuilt transmission and boom Transmission issues again! So I brought the Van back to Amaco and yes there is a transmission issue again! Now they want another $6,200 to do it again? I have never in my right mind thought that a rebuild transmission for $6,200 would only last 15,000 miles! I guess I can expect to pay about $18,000 each year to have it rebuilt !! I mean come one at least give me a break on this one !

The trans in my 96 chevy p/u took a poop. Got it over to Jon. They got my truck back to me in a very timely fashion. Needed a very small adjustment after the fact & they took care of it the same day. Good job !

I highly recommend AAMCO in Charlotte. They were exceptionally communicative, provided a quick turnaround in repairing our steering issue, and were upfront and honest throughout the process. I appreciated their transparency when they couldn’t diagnose a separate suspected issue, clearly explaining what to monitor and when to bring the vehicle back in. No runaround—just straightforward, reliable service.

I called Tech automotive at about 10 am asking if they could do a AC compressor job for me. I was told to bring it in Friday. I was called back and was told that they could get me in right away wass there by 1130 out by 2.He walked me through what he felt like the issue was and gave me different options of possible realities come to find out it wasn't the compressor at all. They are reasonably priced beyond fair especially in this area and do good work. I may have found my mechanic shop for the city!

I work on my own stuff, 240sx, engine swaps, LS1 and 2JZ drift cars, etc. However my 08 Chevy Silverado needed it's auto transmission fluid flushed and filter changed. (Cheaper to have a shop use their oil flush pump) Got my truck back the same day and it made a 24 hour trip with no issues. Guy was busy but very respectful. 100% trustworthy and honest work for the right money. I'd rather pay a little extra to have the job done right. Saves money in the long run.

Customer Service was outstanding to say the least! very professional and all staff was honest and had the repairs done to my transmission the same day which was a couple of days before Christmas! Also the Cost for the repairs for the size of the job and being two days before Christmas was more than reasonable! I will definitely be returning myself and I would highly recommend family or friends to use this location!

I recently put a review out about aamco, which was very unfair of me to do that. I took my vehicle back in to Jon , and he found out the problem, and is now doing the repair. These guys been amazing from the start. I let my frustration get the best of me giving them a bad review. So I would like to apologize to you guys. This review is for the Albemarle Rd. location in Charlotte, NC. I live in Atlanta and my daughter is a student at UNC Charlotte. She was having issues with her transmission, so I had her bring it to AAMCO, and Jon was the one who took care of it for her. He called me directly after he checked her car, and he was extremely honest and professional. He ended up saving me money because the fix was very minor. I'd recommend this AAMCO location, and Jon specifically, to anyone.

This was my first time using AAMCO TRANSMISSION service. I needed a new, used or rebuild transmission for my 2013 Dodge Caravan. My son is in a wheelchair and this van is my only source of transportation for us to get around. My son loves to be sociable. They were able to rebuild the existing transmission and I had my van back in 2 or 3 days with a 1 year warranty. When I spoke with John on every call he was polite, professional and caring.Thanks to the whole team for getting us back to church on Sundays.

I took my 2005 Corolla here after I had a check engine light on. Was informed my transmission is a bust - they were extremely helpful and transparent. Ended up not being charged at all for the service. Very quick turnaround and highly recommend this place!!!

These gentlemen are professionals. They have experience, knowledge, and grit. I've gotten plenty of work done. I've gotten my brakes replaced, over 12 oil changes, and turn signals fixed. They are always dependable. These gentlemen do great business. This business is HIGHLY recommended.

Aamco is my trusted car mechanics 😁I used to take my car to the dealership but on the last occasion they rushed and fixed my brakes and left me stranded across the street from them in the middle of Independence traffic. It was scary. I took my car to Aamco and I have been pleased every time. My son and daughter also take their car to Aamco now. John and his team is honest and me being a woman really appreciate that! I trust them and feel they know car repair and what’s best for each car ❤️

I’ve been a devoted and steady customer of Jon and his team for over four years. When moving to Charlotte, I had some trial and errors with less than “Honest” car repair shops before I found Jon by word of mouth. He not only patiently explains my vehicle’s problem but offers cost effective fixes and high-quality work. He doesn’t aggressively upsell; in fact Jon has discouraged (expensive) work recommended by other shops because it would be bad for the long-term health of *my* vehicle. Nobody likes going to the auto mechanic (like the dentist – necessary but expensive) but Jon has the best “bedside manner” that keeps me coming back. I’ve gladly recommended Jon’s AAMCO location to anyone who asks “do you know a good mechanic?”

Aamco has continually impressed me backing shops like this one. My turbos were on the way out and the dealership prices were through the roof. The team at AAMCO delran were flexible and able to take my car and confirmed all the issues independently. They work quick and most importantly luke and Vanessa were both very good at communicating and working with any questions I had! The car is finally back to normal!

I first went here when I discovered I had several transmission issues, John was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in letting me understand my issues and how to repair them. John recommended getting the synchrony card and I would have up to 6 months no interest to pay. I truck has been fixed and works like a charm almost 3 years now, I have taken all our vehicles here since and has never had any issues in and out with a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the waiting room, they have a drop box so you can leave your keys after hours. We usually get our state inspections done here as well. John knows his stuff and I have never felt rushed or short changed whenever we go here for any service or advice, very trustworthy repair shop, I’m always very confident anytime going here and the prices seem just about average but less than others, I’ve always recommended neighbors and friends to John. If you need professional work that will exceed your expectations without breaking the bank this is the spot. I have a 2007 Nissan frontier with over 300,000 miles and still running like a champ, a 2017 mustang GT and a 2014 Hyundai sonata, all still runs perfectly. I can go on and on but just go see or call John at AAMCO Albemarle Rd. The best around that I would trust. 100% recommended

Jon and his team are amazing! At every step along the way, they were kind, courteous, and professional. My Jeep had essentially lost second gear completely and the guys troubleshot the problem without ever once showing discouragement or uncertainty. Honest and Trustworthy! I recently purchased a used car with a warranty, 6 days after purchase the air conditioning did not work, Jon was able to get me in the same day, went over the entire vehicle and the air problem was operator error not mechanical. He could have easily recommended a zillion repairs under warranty but was honest and said the car was in great shape, WOW you do not find an honest repair shop anymore and they have now earned a lifelong customer!!
