Good trash and recycling center with the ability to recycle a very wide range of items. Staff also very polite and helpful. Turn off the main road not that easy to see sign is not very visible
Was able to get a pickup truck load full of compost for $20 (equivalent to 28 cubit feet) which would’ve cost me well over $60 at Lowes ($3-4 per bag for 1 cubit feet). If you have a truck or can rent or borrow one this is great for gardeners! Compost is lightweight and fluffy. Smells very earthy and has a rich dark color. Easy in and out of the facility. Highly recommend!
Wonderful establishment I have been able to take my items there and discard them with no problems. They also have a place for bike donations so if you have a bike that you no longer want this is a good place to take it so that a kid in need can have one.
Busy place, super friendly, and no matter what - heads up - you're paying at least $8 to drop stuff. But this morning they handled in-processing several dozen simultaneous vehicles and kept things moving. Very friendly.
First time coming here. Was in and out fast. Very organized place, great staff. Definitely will come back to drop off any unnecessary trash i have from jobs.
Paid $53 bucks total for 1160 lbs of trash consisting of wood, foam and cardboard

Closed county landfill to me. I can't figure out why sometimes I am charged a fee and other times I am not charged. All I bring is direct trash from my home being from light remodel of our house or other trash from home that will not fit in the city containers you pull to the street.
They are pretty good for the most part. If you dumping residential waste it’s $18 for a truck load without a resident sticker. Resident sticker it’s $15. For business trash , they charge $38 flat per truck or by weight. Stick to residential to get the best deal. Say household oversize trash.
As a general contractor, I try and be thoughtful of our environment and resources. But Mecklenburg county does not share that idea. I had a project that produced a lot of good clean cardboard, when I went to recycle the cardboard, they wanted to charge me 10 times the cost for me to just throw it in with the rest of my trash on top of me wasting my time driving there. Pitiful.
Staff is awesome! however 10 cents per lb. I had a broken down cabinet into 5 flat objects weighing in at 180. 18$ to drop off what I could drop off in any construction dumpster in front of some developer flip or have the city pick up for free. I’m going to have to opt to finding other ways to get rid of trash now. This city/county needs better waste management as a priority to eliminate the atrocities of lack of public wasted baskets and lack of waste services.
What a wonderful center provided to us residents!!!! The people working were extremely friendly and helpful!!! I was amazed how everything was conveniently labeled!!! Check it out!! They also give FREE BRUSH MULCH!
As long as you are an NC resident, you can drop off cardboard, styrofoam, yard clippings, mattresses, furniture and all kinds of items you no longer need. No charge either. There are some limits on how much you can bring.
I brought in 3 large containers of leaves and went home to get more and they let me do it but said in the future only once per day. Not sure if that is just for leaves or not. Best thing it is free!
Ok. So honestly, this service is great and well organized. My issue is with the lady who works at the main gate entrance.
I was there 2 times in one week and her people/customer service/ communication skills are HORRIBLE!
She is the LAST person this place should have working at the FIRST point of contact with customers.
She is very short with people, when you ask a question she acts as though you should already know the answer, and very impatient.
I dont know how long she's been working there, but she's definitely in need of some customer service training, or find another position for her.

I feel fortunate we have this recycling center close by and the employees are friendly. I have bought chemicals, old electronics, leaves, etc and appreciate that items can be disposed of properly and designated areas are well labeled.
My first time at the recycling center and I am happy to have found this place. The employees working near the dumpsters were very nice and helpful. My only concern is the person at the entrance booth who was rude and disrespectful. I will come again but now that I know how the recycling centers works, I’ll go smoother! just wish the person at the booth was nicer. Thanks to everyone else who was so helpful.
This is a well organized and run facility. I appreciate all the services that go on here and hope that this stays around as it has been useful to me on serval occasions. From disposing rotors, brake fluid, MDF, wood, bed frames, etc. Thank you
Be sure you verify with management when you do your community service. They lied on my son and said he stole items and did not complete his hours. Luckily I video recorded everyday of his service when picking him up and dropping him off. As well as collected the names of the people around him.
The facilities are really well maintained and they take a variety of materials. The men and women in the yard handling the equipment and changing out dumpsters are super! They are friendly and helpful. I wish the same could be said for the employees in the booth. More often than not they are rude, and disrespectful. If it wasn't so far to go to Pineville, that's where we would go.
There’s something so satisfying about being able to get rid of items AND not have to pay! I dropped by today to dump a truck bed of cardboard—easy peasy. I’ll be back in 6 months to get compost (maybe my cardboard will be used (in part) to create the compost). I really, really appreciate the services provided at this location. Bravo!
So happy to have this resource to be able to recycle items that don't belong in our curbside green bin. I took paint, car chemicals, small propane tanks and some battery chargers. Most everything has signs as to where to depose of it or ask one of the employees where to put it. Was not too busy on a weekday morning, but does get extremely busy on weekend. Scales and traffic flow has improved. You can also pick up free mulch when available if you have a truck or trailer.
Fair price to pay to dump stuff off. I come here a lot and most I've paid was $45 and I had my van loaded up to the top with scraps from a construction site. Also coming here in a Sudan and SUV is worth trying if you're dumping one thing off. They'll charge you just for being in a "commercial vehicle" which is understandable. Friendly staff also
