Lmao this place is a joke. Actually ridiculous in terms of customer service and getting the car back. Got towed out of my apartment parking deck. Which has a key to scan into and I pay for. Wouldn’t let me in my glove box to show them my insurance. Overpriced. 1 star is generous.

1 star is way too much for this company. Hands down one of the worst experiences for towing i’ve ever had. Now keep in mind I was parked in a resident parking for a few hours and when I came back the car was towed so I understand that but there was no warning, notice or anything. When we arrive they told us to get there 11:15am which we did then called them to let them know which they then said it would be another hour wait and to wait in the gas station while they come. Called back after an hour and told us to wait another 30 minutes. Whenever they came the dude driving the truck was super unprofessional and gave super vague and 1 worded answers. When we got the car out of the lot we noticed a few things wrong with it and tried talking to the owner about it. He didn’t give us any information or anything, essentially just collected his check and left. The tow truck driver came back and when we went to talk to him about the car he gave his 1 worded answers and drove away as we were talking to him.

My daughter was driving my car and parked it in a handicap space and failed to put the marker around the mirror and it was visible on the seat. Overtime towing towed my car in Charlotte i live i Greensboro, NC and they refused to release my car to my daughter. I drove to Charlotte and they charged me $480.00 plus a $50.00 gate fee for a total of $530.00. this is highway robbery without a weapon. I have read their reviews and the investigation done by a tv station in Charlotte. this company needs to be put out of business and i would suggest to all of you that have submitted reviews to follow up and file a complaint with the Attorney General Office of North Carolina and the Secretary Of State Office of North Carolina. I am doing the same and i have already followed up with a conversation with my State representative about better laws and regulations concerning the way these companies are allowed to charge consumers. Good to see that you responded after five months and your response maybe the end of the story for you but it's not for me. You will soon see new laws enacted to protect consumers from companies that operate like your company. It's no longer about me and my car but I have enough supporters now to legally do something not only about Overtime towing but the remainder of the crooks that operate like you!!!! Ronnie Best PS they don't deserve 1star Hopefully the Attorney General will get Overtime Towing next !!!

I was late to work because they towed my car and wouldn’t pick up the phone when I called to try to get my car back. Then they just took my money. Robbery.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN CHARLOTTE. Very rude and unprofessional. You not recommend. Needs to be investigated by better business bureau. Avoid this company at all costs. Don’t use this company, I repeat don’t use this company. Will leave you out in the cold.

0 stars, giving 1 star is being too nice. Very unprofessional. Made an appointment to pick up at 11:45 didn’t get the car until 12:30. Customer service is very unprofessional and wants you to wait outside until they’re ready despite having an appointment but they tell you don’t be late or fees will added.

Was leaving out for work at 2am. I come out and they are towing my truck. I stopped and asked why are you getting my truck. He told me I can’t park on side the street at my own house…charged me $500 just to unhook my truck. That is insaneeee. Called and tried to speak with a manager they told me to send a email

Overtime Towing in Charlotte operates in a way that feels like straight-up robo-towing. Cars are snatched up within minutes, with no reasonable grace period, and it comes across as predatory rather than professional. What makes it worse is the behavior of the staff. Every interaction is aggressive and unnecessarily rude. When calling to ask where a vehicle was taken or how to retrieve it, the tone is hostile, dismissive, and confrontational. Simple questions are treated like an inconvenience, and there is zero customer service or basic respect shown to people just trying to get their car back. Being towed is already stressful, but this company seems to thrive on making the experience as unpleasant as possible. If you’re a property manager or business considering a towing partner, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. If you’re a driver in Charlotte, be extremely cautious—once they have your car, expect attitude, aggression, and no empathy whatsoever.

If zero stars were an option, that’s still too generous. Overtime Towing & Transport, LLC is hands down one of the most predatory, unprofessional, and disgusting towing companies I’ve ever dealt with. My friend’s car was towed from my apartment complex while it was parked in VISITOR parking with no warning, no notice, and no posted violation. When we contacted non emergency police, we were told it was towed for being “parked illegally,” which is a meaningless, copy paste excuse clearly used to justify stealing people’s cars for profit. Calling this company was a nightmare. They took 30 minutes just to answer the phone, and when they finally did, the man on the line was rude, condescending, and clearly on a power trip. My friend was driving his mother’s car, and while it’s reasonable to ask for registration, they completely refused to cooperate once we explained she was out of the country. They would not offer alternatives and refused to even explain why the car was towed. We then got his father, who is literally on the registration, on the phone, and they refused to allow a three way call for absolutely no valid reason. Then, because my friend was understandably upset that his car was stolen overnight and he had work the next morning, they decided to retaliate by saying the dad would now need to come in person to retrieve the vehicle, knowing full well he lives in another state. That is not policy, that is retaliation, extortion, and abuse of power. This company does not operate in good faith. They target apartment residents and students, tow cars without legitimate cause, hide behind vague explanations, delay communication, and deliberately make the process as difficult as possible to squeeze more money out of people. When legal action was mentioned, they smugly claimed they would “win,” which says everything about how often they pull this scam. This is not a towing service, it is a legalized scam wrapped in a business license, and if you value your money, your time, or your sanity, avoid this company at all costs because they are the reason towing companies have the reputation they do. Absolutely shameful. Maybe cool down on that ego of yours and find other ways to pay for your bills without scamming.

My vehicle was wrongfully towed by Overtime Towing & Transport, LLC. They claimed my car was parked illegally. This is not the first time my vehicle has been targeted by this company, which raises concerns about predatory towing practices. I was then forced to pay nearly $300 to retrieve my car, with no warning and no reasonable verification of the alleged violation. The entire experience felt exploitative and unfair. I strongly recommend residents and visitors be cautious and fully document where they park when this company is involved.

Predatory and awful towing company in Charlotte. Tow vehicles in areas they shouldn’t be able to tow like streets without restrictions and when asked for pictures or proof of the issue they couldn’t give it. Rude when you do contact them. Make you make an appointment to get your vehicle but then they are not there and make you wait on them to arrive. I wouldn’t ever recommend them for any type of service and called the news station about them as well.

This company is completely unprofessional. They will tow your car even if you have the apartment sticker and then proceed to not give your car back. I had all my documents to show and he stated that he couldn't take it because my name was not explicitly shown on the car registration or the insurance (it's in my mom's name and I'm obviously her child) and she lives in a totally different state. He also refused to wait for her to send it over and left without saying another word They also told my mom to email our car information (which she did) and we got another appointment the same day but nobody showed up and I had been sitting there waiting for over an hour.

Took my van at 130 am. I was next to visitor but they were all taken they still took it then they wouldn’t answer to get my car back. Only reason I did was someone else was getting towed. 480 dollars they owe me now

Vechicle was removed from my residence with the excuse that no permission was granted to park there. A sticker with accurate representation and permission was shared with the employee with employee id 0100. Once shared he asked for cash payment of $180 so he will no longer tow the vehicle. When declined cash payment, he negligently hook up my car avoiding proper towing requirement. This vechicle requires flat bed transport and was transported in a angle cause damaged to the suspension and the chassis. I called to office the morning oct 5th to make these complaints and spoke to a lady employee number 1004 whom directed me towards a customer service email to never replied I have mechanics looking at this vechicle now and will need a full refund of any repairs done for negligently handling the vechicle during transport and seeking full refund of the $500 paid to get my vechical back for wrongful removal and lack of professionalism. I'm being charged $4650 for suspension repair. Called again to see if someone could help was greeted by a very disrespectful individual telling me to get off the phone the he will not deal with this. I will be seeking legal advice as this is unacceptable.

Got my car illegally towed by these guys at Yugo Charlotte in the middle of the night. This is the 3rd time this has happened, the rules are you don’t park in a visitor spot for more than 48 hours but they only come to check between 3:30-5:30 am. How is that a reliable system? Had to pay $300 and the apartment complex refuses to reimburse. My car has a manual transmission and was in 1st with the parking break up, I’m pretty sure they did damage to my transmission. Definitely taking this to court

Of course I was upset to see that my car was towed in visitor parking at my apartment complex. There was no spots in the resident area and I was getting home past 12 AM and anxious about finding a spot so I thought I would move it in the morning. Overtime towed my car, which that was my fault for parking in a visitors parking spot for less than 14 hours. I understood the consequences, but the way that they handled themselves was so incredibly rude. First, I called to make an appointment and the woman on the phone was so rude. She was not understanding at all and is not good with customer service. We called a second time because no one was at the door and she screamed at my friend and told her to wait a few minutes go by there is still no one there. I was worried about missing my appointment so I recalled to make sure that I was at the right place and then she screamed at me telling me that she just told me this information and then I told her I was sorry for bothering her and she hung up on me. This lady should not be working customer service. She is so incredibly rude. Then someone finally shows up and the price that they told me over the phone was not correct. He told me the price it would be and then just tapped my card for me without even giving me an Chance to ask about it because I was told a different price over the phone. I didn’t like the fact that he took my card and did it for me. I would not recommend this place to any companies trying to partner with overtime. They are so incredibly rude and they do not know anything about customer service. Price was up charged then what they said on the phone btw.

On September 8, 2025, my vehicle was towed by Overtime Towing (8411 Old Statesville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28269). I was charged $500 for the tow plus an additional 5% credit card fee ($25), for a total of $525. I am filing this complaint because: No Itemized Invoice Provided – The company only gave me a Clover credit card receipt. I requested but did not receive a full breakdown of charges (tow fee, storage, admin, etc.), which I understand is required by law and local ordinance. Undisclosed Credit Card Surcharge – The 5% fee was only disclosed at the point of payment, not beforehand. Visa/Mastercard rules and state consumer protection standards require clear disclosure before the transaction so that a consumer can choose another payment method. Excessive and Unreasonable Charges – A $500 base fee for a standard tow appears to be excessive compared to industry norms in Charlotte, and without an itemized bill it is impossible to verify the legitimacy of the charges. On top of this the person was extremely rude and excessively cursed ,

Towed my car 2 times in one week. I paid for the parking both times with the app and have receipts on my phone for them . Owner is very nasty & rude . When i showed proof to the tow guy he said “ you will have to call the owner i can’t “ . I called over 30 times. Nobody answered . Still haven’t received a call back. Update : they replied to my comments and said I “ had the wrong tag “ I just had got my car and indeed put my 30 day tag in the parking app . Which I was trying to show I paid for the parking under my 30 day tag to the tow man . He said “ contact the owner “ I called the owner and never received an answer back . I’m very responsible. All yall care about it taking money . Like I said before very rude and very nasty . I don’t even come over to the apartments anymore due to yall. I didn’t have an error yall did. Have better customer service and stop being money hungry . High as hell for no reason also.

I have been in property management for over 28 years. My son vehicle was towed due to the fact that he was parked in the visitor slot because he misplaced his sticker his car was towed. I spoke to one of the representative which she stated her operation number was 0031. This rep. was so rude so nasty that I could barely believe what I was hearing, customers should not be treated as if they were criminals, (their car was told they are not criminals) U asked to speak with the owner of Overtime Towing and she said ( I’m the only person you can speak with) maybe that answer the question on why she was so rude/nasty, the owners are not aware of this behavior. The towing business is already dangerous enough there is no reason she should be drawing negative attention when you don’t have too. I get that you might get upset customers that come or call but as a rep, she should be friendly, and with all means try to de-escalate the situation. My advice to the owner hire representative that care about your business and your services.

Of course, I was not happy to see that my car had been towed. At some point parking in handicapped would have consequences. However, customer service was great, the operator explained everything that I needed to bring, explained the process. She was patient and informative with me even though I was on level 100. I was relieved that it was a quick and smooth process. Even thou I was annoyed, learned lesson: Don't park in handicapped and don't be rude to the operator trying to help.

**SCAM ALERT** These people towed my car the same day I bought it. I called to find out what the fees were and was told $320 and stated they wouldn’t release the vehicle without a title; which I couldn’t possibly have because I financed the vehicle. I provided all of my documents proving I was the owner of the car and they kept requesting a title. The General Manager from the dealership personally called them, still refusing to release the car without a title. I asked the woman at the office several times to speak with a supervisor, to which she said “I can’t get ahold of him” over and over. This went on for more than 6 hours. Finally, I went to the yard with a police officer and one of their tow truck drivers was there. He asked for proof of insurance, which I provided, he released the car to me immediately and charged me $290. These people are scammers!!!

If you are a business or neighborhood- do not do business with this company. This is the worst business I have ever dealt with in my life. I have worked customer service and marketing and they do not manage their relationships at all and have no standards of who they hire. If you are towing someone’s car, then you should realize that it is a rough time for them when they realize that their car is gone, especially when it was towed in a private neighborhood that they pay to live there. However, whatever “rules” they are following, I can understand and be respectful even when upset but the woman who answered the phone immediately started cursing and was ruder than any other person I’ve ever dealt with my entire life. She was disrespectful, called me a child for her cursing at me and tried to blame the behavior on myself when she went from 0 to 60 immediately being rude and disrespectful. How any business can get away with having such horrible customer service employees is beyond me. You really need to rethink who you hire. For any neighborhood or business that partners with this company for your towing services, I highly recommend thinking twice because just makes you look bad as a business by hiring Overtime to do your towing and partnering with them because they are shady and illegally removing vehicles to gain a profit. I even have video evidence of the driver not getting out of his vehicle to see if it was legit or not before putting it on the tow. At pick up the man who gave us our car back also had an illegal extended clip on his gun, very visible in a threatening manner when I am a single 5’2 female. Then their employees, specifically the woman who answers the phone, is disrespectful. Due to her own disrespect, she then changed my pick up time for my vehicle to be after hours just to add an additional charge to be spiteful. Do not do business with this shady company. Horrible employees. Show that recorded line. When you are nasty to people, they will be nasty back.

This company is wildly unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and very clearly has very little desire to actually assist customers in retrieving their vehicles quickly and easily. All of the one star ratings pretty much sum up my experience. The member of management that I interacted with clearly struggles with effective communication and literally got on the phone to say that I was asking too many questions of her employee getting her turned all around and then hung up on me. Luckily I was able to call back and actually speak to a representative that could regulate her emotions and was helpful. I would not expect any type of customer service, effective communication, or respect and consideration. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and speaking with other residents at my property to petition to have this company removed as the tow company being used. I will also be using all written communication as evidence of the reason this company should no longer be used.

THE LAST PART OF THIS REVIEW MAY BE HELPFUL TO YOU This is a crooked company. Put a sticker on my window citing my plates- hand wrote ‘EXP’ on it referring to expired tags on the evening of 4/30 saying it would be towed 5/2 if not corrected. In fairness I never put the previous sticker on so it still had no sticker on it- The next day I had my vehicle inspected and tags renewed but obviously didn’t have the sticker yet. They towed it anyway despite being up to date. When I called, I was given attitude when I told them it was up to date and he told me if I didn’t call them to notify them, it goes off how that it appears to be expired. I told him that was theft of my property and he basically told Me to take them to court if I feel that way, they do it all the time and win. ADVICE: I got my money back. Critical pieces to this though- this sticker on the window says nothing about contacting them to let them know it’s been corrected (in my case, I couldn’t get a sticker to make it look corrected). Save this. Any documentation (in my case, receipt from dmv of plate renewal with date stamp) to show they were in the wrong. The more documentation you have, the better. VERY important- pay them with a credit card. After paying and the payment clears, dispute it. If you use a debit card you aren’t protected the same way and no recourse if you pay any other way. The documentation is for the credit card dispute. It took about 30 days but I was contacted letting me know the card company had ruled in my favor and reversed the charge

I am genuinely shocked at how this place treats and speaks their customers. I called to ask questions to help my 16 year old sister in law get her car back and they told me I need to tell the owner of the vehicle ( her dad) to talk in a calm voice and learn how to talk. When I didn’t know he called and was trying to help. I was asking questions and she kept talking over me saying over and over again I need to speak and tell the owner of the vehicle things that was irrelevant to helping. Trying to fight with her dad through me when I just wanted to know how I can help her so that she can get back home to Raleigh. The woman was so disrespectful and kept being rude and yelling at me. I cannot believe a business like this lets their employees act like that. They truly do not care at all about other people. Stay far away from this place. This business should be ashamed of themselves and the people they hire that should be there to benefit their business. I also worked customer service prior to being on maternity leave can understand how people can be but I would never once thing of talking let alone treating a customer to how I was treated.

I stay at blvd 98 and paid for a 2 day parking pass, woke up the next morning n my car was towed. They said it was parked in the wrong spot…somewhat understandable…when I shows up to their location to pick up my car they said I needed to schedule an appointment…what is this the doctor’s office?!? The earliest appointment was in 2 hours, acting like I don’t have other things to do. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and was trying to be a smart-ass about every question I asked. I paid $280 cash but they charged me an extra $30 because I didn’t have insurance with me (even though I showed them my registration) and it would be a liability for me to drive my OWN CAR out their lot. It was the first car in the lot and literally 10ft away from the gate. Instead of towing my car out with the towing truck he brought, the dude drove it out himself! A real liability issue I see, definitely not a ploy to pocket extra cash! I will be filing a complaint to the city first thing Monday morning. Super scammy, super unprofessional, and customer service are miserable and rude individuals.

Any company that would do business with this company does NOT care about their clients, customers, or residents!!! On 12/21/24 a young mother living with her 2 small children was booted while visiting someone at Wexford Apartments to give her children a bath! She called the owner in hopes to get compassion and empathy close to the holidays, being that she didn't even have money for food that day. They threatened to tow her automobile when she got out and then had driver place a second boot on the car! So they make their money by contracting with student housing apartment complexes that don't have adequate designated "Visitor's" parking like Lattitude49. This tow company isn't following basic City Ordinance, so if you experience any of the following, please MAKE the time to take them to Small Claims court! City Ordinance states they can only charge 3% on a credit card charge; you have to be able to access your car within 45 minutes and 24 hours a day. Because they don't have an on-site office or staff they want to add this "gate fee" and refuse you the availability to pick your car up between 6:30-8:00 pm and inconvenience you with an "appointment only" policy. Because they can't afford the basics to run a functional tow company they are have you meet their drivers in front of the lot in their trucks instead of purchasing a trailer or even building a small "She-Shed" and putting it on the lot! This is the text message they sent: Thank you for contacting Overtime Towing -Vehicles are released by appointment only. A 15 minute wait time will be allowed for both parties to arrive. A 30.00 fee will be added if the appointment time is missed. If an employee is not present when you arrive, please wait patiently(do not block the gate), we are enroute. We do not offer appointment times between 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm. -Vehicles are released to the registered owner only. Proof of ownership ( current registration, pre-existing insurance) and a valid ID will be required. -We accept cash, credit and debit card A 5% fee will be added for all card transactions. If you pay with cash, please bring exact change as our staff do not carry any money. Cards will only be accepted from the vehicle owner. -If the vehicle is not operable there will be an additional charge to pull the vehicle out of the yard. You cannot service your vehicle on property. -A current insurance card must be presented in order to drive the vehicle out of the yard. If you do not have valid insurance we will pull the vehicle out of the yard and a fee will be assessed for the labor. -A gate fee will be charged if you choose to retrieve your vehicle between the hours of 9 PM to 9 AM. Our yard is located at 8411 Old Statesville Road Charlotte 28269 (corner of WT Harris and Old Statesville next to the Goodyear)

So they impounded the car at a place where there are no signs that it would be towed. When I called the woman on the phone said that it was gonna be $250, when I showed up to pick up the car, the driver said $280. When I called her she said she never said $250. This is ridiculously taking advantage of people

Unethical company, not take care of the car during transport and want to charge extra for any detail. Took my grandmothers car and while wanting to ask for directions the lady on the phone said she will text me the info and hung up immediately. Maybe if they were more honest they could get better sleep and be nicer to everyone.
