Not worth the trouble. After waiting in line 30 minutes, I was told they could not accept my load because of a couple of rotten 6 foot long two by fours that they claimed were construction debris. So I had no choice but to go to the Southside landfill.
They are closed today and the 4th of January. BUT!!!!!!! No where on the website does it let people know they are closed. What a mess, waist of time, waste of gas and now the truck is full, what the hell do I do now!!! Thanks Indy/citizens for all the trouble you could of saved me and most likely allot of other people by just a few words on the website!
The staff was very polite and extremely helpful when we took my daughter’s sofa to be disposed of. There were several other customers there, but the line moved quickly and we were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Highly recommend!
Nice to get rid of stuff for five bucks. Ut if I get a nail in the tire it will be a bad day. For real this place looks like employees don't care about there work. The perimeter has trash inbeded in the dirt. Place needs cleaned up and a new way to flow the traffic through
Only 5 bucks and the wait wasnt too bad, but the service was incredible. While dumping a couch I knocked my nice pair of glasses off and down into the gap next to the dumpster right after the last driver had left for the day. 2 of the staff, Christian and Johnny, proceeded to spend the next half hour or so lending me tools and helping me twist fence wires together to reach far enough with a magnet to fish them out. These guys saved me a $500 pair of glasses frames and deserve a raise.
I am one of the permanent drivers here every Saturday. Items we DO NOT accept are any electronics (TV's, computers, etc.) Large amounts of brush, any tire larger than a pickup tire. Only allowed 4 tires per Saturday. ABSOLUTELY NO TRAILERS, MOVING TRUCKS/BOX TRUCK. Signs state 3/4 ton pickup or smaller. Gates close at 3:45pm. Come prepared to wait in a line if you are not in line before the gates open at 8am. If all containers get filled up before 3:45 we will have to close early.
You can't beat the value for the service ($5 per pick up truck load or $2 for a car load). Just be prepared to wait an hour or more is not uncommon in line. But kudos to Indy for proving this service as well as the tox drop opportunities around the city.
The wait is unpredicable. Sometimes 10 minutes and sometimes 2 hours, usually more on the high end. It seems to depend on how many people they have replacing the dumpsters. I would gladly pay 3x the price if they could hire enough people to lower the wait.
Only takes cash, which was really inconvenient. And our wait was mind-numbing. It’s only open on Saturday so everyone is trying to get in. We had to wait for over an hour to get through the line. However, nothing beats the price (~5$ a car for whatever you can fit in) so I can’t give it less than 4 stars.
Best place around to dump your junk. They don't charge by weight or volume. If you can haul it in your car or suv, it's $2....if you can fit it in a van or pick up, it's $5. The only downside to this place is they're only open on Saturday.
Great price and the staff is great but the wait isn't worth it. Got here 5 minutes after opening and took almost 2 hours. Some of it was people sweeping their beds out and some was slow turnaround on dumpsters due to not having enough drivers. Worth the extra money to go to the landfill.
They are.only letting 2 vehicles unload at a time today. We have sat here for almost 2 hours and still have not made it all the way to u.load yet. BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!!
Would be nice if they posted a sign BEFORE you get in line or put a notice on the web page stating that they don't allow trailers!
Went to Southside Landfill just down the street. More expensive but, they'll take anything AND trailers are welcome!
ATTN: They shut the gates at 3:45 so technically they close at 3:45 pm.
The place is great because of the price the price is very cheap it's $5 for trucks and $3 for vans in far as the only downside is sometimes most of the time there are long lines so you may have to wait 30 or 45 minutes sometimes maybe even an hour but to some people it's worth it to something others it is not
I always use this place to dump stuff. Lines can get a little long later in the day and on weekends but if you go early there isn't usually much of a weight. Staff is super friendly and very helpful for first timers and give directions in where to go and what goes where. Prices are great too: $2 per car kid or $5 per truck load. You can only make 2 trips a day and there are a lot of restricted items so make sure to check their site before you take something there that you can't dump.
Never had much issue with lines... Try getting there earlier in the day and lines will be shorter. Personnel are usually pretty nice and usually all business. As soon as you're done they're getting you out of there. They won't help you dump anything so if you need help bring it.
Used them a couple times to get rid of excess garbage. It was less than 10$ each load. There’s always a long line but it moves pretty quick. Best if you can get there 20-30 minutes before they open.
Excellent way to dispose of heavy household trash after super clean/declutter.. Truck load 5 bucks.. I think car is 3.. No trailers. Get there before 4.. Happy dumping.
