Why do your employees not do their job and just follow each other around and laugh? ? only ones I saw actually working were their cashiers! if I could give this store a review based solely on their employees trust me it would be in the negative's, I also saw another review saying the same exact thing so I’m not the only one. You know who the girls are and it’s annoying, get better employees please and not these unqualified teenagers who don’t even do their job and just hang out with their friends.
love it here! i come on wednesdays for the 50% off sale. my favorite thing i've found here is a brand new ihome vanity mirror. lots of plushies. there's a pajama section which always has cute shorties. i've found a lot of shakespeare here. and some other weird books.
The actual store is clean and organized. Prices are good, with lots of space to shop. Employees are mostly friendly.
I really like the donation portion of the store. There are always employees there to help unload your donated items and they are always extra friendly here. I've sat 3-4 cars in line waiting to hand in my donations.
I used to come here at least once a week, usually on their 50% off discount day on Wednesdays. The staff is always friendly and the building is cleaned and well maintained. There’s a lot of varieties of items here from clothes, shoes, toys, jewelry, etc.
I shop here 2 x a week because they have most anything you need or want. Unfortunately the past few months check out has one person only between 5 and 6 pm. Twice recently I put everything back and left. I can't speak for other time of days but they definitely need cashiers or a manager helping out front.

My first stop shop when looking for secondhand books! They are stupid cheap here! I got 12 books, plus like 9 movies, and shorts for like $50.
Went in this morning like EVERY Saturday morning, but prices were ridiculous. $12.99 for a USED DONATED wash basket. Our cashier, that one either needs to adjust her attitude or find a new job that doesnt involve customer service. She rude, all the time! She asked if she could use the blouse I was buying as packing material? When I asked if she had a small box for a glass jar that I was buying she stuffed the blouse inside it too! We will not be going to her again even if we are next in line to check out with her. We will let someone else go behind us just to avoid her!
I have returned to this store many times. Community Aid always has exactly what I need. The store is very well organized. The staff is courteous and friendly.
i had a terrible experience so let me give you the run down there two teenage girls who are employees and all they do is run around and laugh they DONT help AT ALL but i needed some assistance so i asked THEM cause their always together and they laughed and called me FAT yes FAT NOT SKINNY (not that im embarrassed at all cause im very much skinny) im really skinny so it doesn’t hurt me but its still disgusting and despicable and disrespectful (one had terribly bleached blonde hair and the other has glasses)and i heard them talking about their co workers calling them names
Big inventory and very organized. They have discount days for veterans, students, firefighters/police, etc. This makes their cheap prices even cheaper. You’ll save alot of money by checking here for what you need before going to corporate retail.
They carry decent inventory & some prices are very reasonable however, there are times where I wonder how they came up with the price they did for some items as it seems unreasonably high for what it is. I also noticed that on their dollar days that there is significantly less dollar tagged items on the floor as compared to last year. I believe they have employees pulling items before store opening on Mondays as I went on Monday & got in right as the doors were unlocked & mainly saw every color tag BUT the color tag for the $1 price. Unfortunately it seems thrift stores are jumping on the greed bandwagon of most corporations. Just another place taking advantage of the lower income people for profit. They get donations for free, then mark stuff up just to mark it down on certain days & make you think you're getting a deal. When in reality, if they priced things reasonably everyday that would be the most helpful to lower income people. I also shouldn't have to pay more for a name brand item that's used than I do for any other used item. Like I said, they get these items DONATED. I used to enjoy going on Mondays, but won't bother wasting my time & gas to drive across town to find 2 or 3 $1 items. They are still better than Goodwill, but probably not for much longer.
Edit: Today I went in & came across an item that was blue tagged as a new to you item. However, if you look at the photo you can see part of the orange tag attachment that was previously on the item. They are pulling the old tags off & tagging older inventory as new so there are less items available on their discount days. This is deceptive business practices. Shame on you community aid.
Stuff is overpriced here. The store is large, but I didn’t see many good deals. Also, I felt I was treated poorly here. I am a Muslim woman who covers her face in a veil. When I went to the counter to check out, the cashier didn’t greet me or smile, she looked at me like I was an alien and just stared at her. I tried to be overly friendly but she wasn’t having it. I don’t understand how you can run a business which is open to the public, not just Christian people, and treat your customers so poorly. To judge me based on my appearance yet you have no clue who I am as a person is just sad, frankly. I won’t be returning to this store due to the treatment I received from that young girl and an older woman who was putting clothing away in the back. She also gave me a rude and condescending look, scowling at me and my young daughters. In this day and age you should try to have a bigger heart and respect others, no matter what their differences may be. Also, the mother of Jesus (peace be upon him) dressed in a similar fashion to me. Ironic how some Christians hate us Muslim women and judge us for clothing such as Mary wore!
Absolutely my favorite thrift shop in the York and Red Lion area, so glad these guys opened up here. Prices are fair unlike a lot of other thrift stores around here, and they always have good sales going. And they stock actual good quality, clean things, not a bunch of stuff with stains, holes, or major wear and tear. No joke, at least 50% if not more of my wardrobe is from the Community Aid and it will continue to stay that way. Not to mention the staff there are some of the nicest people! I've never had even one bad experience here, and I always come home with a big bag of good clothes and cool decorations every time I go here!
Stopped at Community Aid this afternoon, Tuesday...Sr. Discount day! Scored some Really good deals and an added 50% off some items! A little something for everyone in the family.
A very good selection of used and new clothes and other items. If you need it you could probably find it here. From shoes to pants and everything in between.
Massive selection of quality items for great prices. Clothes were well organized, fitting rooms were clean, and staff was helpful. Best thrift store I've been to!
