Service was quick and fast and professional. I went in without an appointment and they so kindly facilitated me. Now this is significant to me because I'm a black man and did not expect them to accommodate me. But they were welcoming and they got me in and out. Thanks guys!

I was disappointed this time that the labor cost to change my brakes was so high. But the service was timely and they were good to work with.

This has to be the worst place in York, Pennsylvania. The customer service is horrible. I had ordered tires and I went for my appointment at 1 PM and the guy that was working at the register for one he looked lost as in he didn’t even know what he was doing then to install four tires. He’s telling me it’s gonna take two hours to install four tires and I was the only customer there so I don’t know if they had to do anything with my skin color but he was giving that vibe please everyone that resist do not go to Pep Boys on Locust Road.

My engine is making a noise. i made an appointment for an engine diagnostic on October 13th. i dropped off my jeep, and came back after they told me it was ready for pickup. they told me that the engine was making a noise because the oil was low. they charged me $120 and only changed my oil. it's october 17th now, and my car is still making the same noise that it was making before I brought it to pep boys. i even showed them a video of the exact noise that my engine was making, and when I came to pick up my jeep i didn't believe that it was just an oil change issue, because i know what a car that has not enough oil in it sounds like. the guy at the counter was irritated, but we went outside and he turned on the car for about 15 seconds. he said, "i dont hear a noise" i go inside and I pay $120 for an oil change. supposedly the low oil was the issue. if that was the issue, why is my car still making the same noise? i'm beyond irritated, and I think it's absolutely ridiculous for them to try and tell me that I only needed an oil change when there's obviously something else going on. And fix your speed bumps. why are they so high?

Scheduled 2 appts. Both times was told it would be hours to wait. I asked what isthe point of scheduling an appointment? The guy had no answer for that besides, itll be hours... Don't recommend this business to anyone. Don't waste your time unless you dont care about leaving your car all day.

I don’t recommend. Had an appointment, they cancelled when we were there. Not professional. You need to review the booking online, why allowing everyone to have an appointment at the same time? And if not doable, why don’t you call the customer to let them know?

The service was excellent. Craig and Jay do an excellent job with customer service. Both are very knowledgeable, kind, and considerate. Very respectful atmosphere.

Great deal on line vs local competitors. Smooth, quick process to place an order and schedule the install. Guys in the shop were friendly and professional. All questions answered on the spot. Thanks guys.

My Mother had her car inspected. The gentlemen were very thorough and honest. The vehicle passed inspection. The gentleman explained that the vehicle had a bad water pump that needed replaced but this would not hinder the inspection and offered to have it repaired for her. Fortunately she has sons that could fix it for her. It is refreshing to still have honest people in the work place. They have gained another referral to their business due to their honesty.

Bill took excellent care of us & our car. He walked us through what needed done & when they found we needed tires, he found us a good deal. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

Made an appointment for state inspection. The morning of they called and said they couldn’t take me. Rescheduled for a few days later and the next day they called and said they couldn’t take me again. Ended up going somewhere else.

The new service manager is HORRIBLE. Right from the start he is was demeaning and extremely rude to me. I wish I would’ve trusted my gut and took my vehicle elsewhere like I was going to do. In my over 10 years of going to this location, I have never been talked to like this or treated like this. And they are incompetent. Failed my state inspection trying to say there is an issue with a light sensor that occasionally goes on that has done this for over 3 years that Chevy said does not need to be replaced and that it would be a waste to replace b/c they’d have to take the car apart to find which sensor it is b/c the sensor is in 2 different locations. Not to mention, pepboys passed me state inspection last year and Chevy has when I have gone to them. Then pepboys acted like they knew what to do to fix it when they don’t! My husband experienced even worse treatment and incompetency months prior. I didn’t know it was this guy until I told me husband the treatment I experienced and what they said and he said he knew exactly who I was talking about and looked in the store and said that was him. They will NEVER receive my business again.

Unfortunately for me I had a flat tire on two occasions so I call Pep Boys and each time they took care of me with expedient professionalism. I would absolutely used them again!

The experience was horrible. Counter help disappeared, customers coming in and leaving because no one around. Mechanic needs a therapist, was cursing and throwing things around the shop the entire 2 hours I waited. There was only one mechanic that was professional and helpful and assisted in getting the job done.

I made an appointment for 9:30 the day before, I come for the appointment at my scheduled time, and they tell me they can’t take in my truck for another 2 hours, and that they’ll have it ready after another “few” hours. What’s the point of making an appointment? Autocare Center next door is much better. I explained my problem, and they were able to squeeze me in even though I didn’t have an appointment.

Hadn't been to PepBoys in a few years. I didn't realize they were no longer a store, but more of garage/service center. I went there to purchase tires, and ended up getting alignment, oil change, etc. PepBoys kept me in the loop (through an online link) to the entire process, as it was progressing, and they called me for approval to do extra work they found (dirty air filter), before they did anything! They were very thorough in explaining everything that was being done, and I felt very comfortable working with them! Thank you PepBoys for a fantastic experience! Update 7/13/2025 Past experience that was good was ruined by this experience! I dropped my truck off on Friday night for 8am appointment Saturday for the upgraded 1 year wheel alignment! 8am was the earliest time so i could get the truck back in a timely manner as i had things to do. They took until almost 4pm to do the so called alignment! I go to pick up the truck and pay, and the bill is $100 cheaper than it should be! I asked why it was so cheap, as i was supposed to get the 1 year alignment? I was told, "Oh, they only did the basic alignment. Thats what was on the paper"! Okay, so i paid and walked out. I get in the truck and look at my paperwork he gave me and IT CLEARLY STATES 1 YEAR ALIGNMENT right on it! I shouldve gone back in, but i was already pissed, and it would've only gotten worse had i gone back in! So i left. As im driving down the road, straight mind you, i let go of the steering wheel and my truck pulls to the right, almost driving off the road! Unbelievable! $130 and its WORSE than it was when i dropped it off! NEVER AGAIN will i step foot in this place! What a waste of time and money! Do yourself a favor and wait for an appointment at a reputable shop!

Good people and good work just make sure that if you're going to have them read codes for you, that you have done it yourself already or just know what part/area it is and when it comes to O2 sensors that they give you the right one. Don't be me and wait too long to see if its the right one. But hey, it was just one person, they're good at what they do still.😎👍

I was the beneficiary of exemplary service complements of Bill and Scott (Craig was awesome on my last visit and should not go unmentioned). On this occasion Bill followed up several times and kept me abreast of the mechanic’s findings and potential cost. Scott was the star of this transaction, though. He stayed late to wrap up a job I was told would take until the following day. Was pleasantly surprised when I got the call to pick up the car this evening. Underpromise and overdeliver is not a lost concept after all.

Had a pleasant experience getting NITTO TERRA GRAPPLERS G3…AT LT tires for my RAM and Goodyear Electricdrive EV tires for my ID4. Bill was excellent to work with and I have no complaints on any services provided… very happy !! Thank you Bill and the PepBoys crew!

Had an 11:00 appt today to get an oil change and transmission flush. I arrived on time and was rudely told, we are very busy today. I am not sure when we will get to you. I said, but I have an appointment I’m not a walk in. He said well I have a stack of papers in front of you. I said any idea how long, and he rudely said I don’t even know if we will get to you. I traveled 20 mins to get there and 20 mins back. You guys couldn’t call and tell me you were behind? Thanks for wasting my time! And you need to reevaluate the jerk at the desk! I have spent a lot of money there over the years, but never again! Awful customer service! Cindy

I had an issue with my tires that were installed incorrectly at a Pep Boys location in another state two years ago. The threads were installed wrong, and it caused me some concern. When I brought my car into this location, the team was incredibly helpful. A very nice gentleman took care of everything, fixing the issue and reinstalling the threads properly. I really appreciated the excellent customer service and their expertise in getting things right. Highly recommend this location!

I came here to get my tire fixed. Idk why it took them over 1hr to get this done I had to say some thing to Bill the manager what’s going on then all of a sudden my truck was done NEVER AGAIN

The whole experience with Pep Boys in York, PA went well. I was able to find decent tires within my budget and schedule an appointment online for the same morning. I appreciated the option to pay online or in store after the tire installation was complete. I was out the door in just over an hour and the informed me that the car needs brakes but weren't pushy about it. Overall good deal.

I had a very good experience at the Pep Boys located on Loucks Road, York, PA. Craig and Jay worked with me to get the correct size and best price on a set of (4) tires. The technician Chris was very knowledgeable and gave me tips to help achieve the maximum benefit of new tires. In all, the staff was friendly; gave great customer service, and are very professional and knowledgeable!

I pulled into pep boys parking lot with a tire that was about to blow out. A bubble had pushed through my sidewall. I was prepared to purchase a new tire. The lady at the counter was made aware of how dire my situation was. Also that I was prepared to buy new tires. I told her that I barely made it to the parking lot. She said she couldn't fix it until the next day. "It's a tire not a transmission" I told her. She said there were no technicians to do it. Why does pep boys have six bay doors and never more then two technicians? How long would it take to fix a tire? Ten minutes? I got a mile away before the tire blew out. Nearly crashed. I will never return to pep boys for anything. If they would have taken five minutes they could have made a sale of hundreds of dollars. Put the customer first and made sure I was safe. Very disgusted with the whole experience.
