I rarely write reviews, but the exceptional experience at Leedy Automotive compels me to share. My 2006 Highlander Hybrid has over 364,000 miles, and I needed a timing belt service. After calling around and receiving quotes that felt exorbitant (one place quoted nearly $800 just for a diagnostic compression test!), I was feeling discouraged.
Then I called Leedy's and spoke with Delane. Instead of pushing unnecessary services, he took the time to explain what a compression test is actually used for and, after asking a few diagnostic questions, honestly advised me it wasn't needed. His expertise and transparency were immediately apparent.
The quote for the full timing belt kit (including water pump and all associated components) was a refreshingly fair and honest assessment of the work needed. Their price was a fraction of the cost of other quotes I received, which were so high I was considering replacing the car. They believe in replacing all parts while they're in there, which provides incredible peace of mind.
The service was prompt and thorough. Kyle and the team went above and beyond. Joe took the time to test-drive the car with me, listening carefully and offering thoughtful advice. A moment of genuine human connection that meant a lot. They also drained and refilled my inverter coolant, and noticed my radiator cap was faulty. Without me asking, they sent someone to get a new one and installed it free of charge. Furthermore, they deducted the cost of the thermostat from the final bill when they determined it didn't need replacement. A testament to their incredible honesty.
What truly sets this family-owned shop apart is how they treat people. From Delane's knowledgeable patience to Kyle's diligent oversight and Joe's compassionate engagement, I was treated with respect and kindness by everyone. They aren't just mechanics; they are good people who take pride in their work and care about their customers.

My car was making a noise and I was down the road from Leedy. Kyle offered to look at it right away as I was on my way to move to another state. He was so helpful and realized the previous shop I took my car to didn't tighten my wheels and I would have lost it on the highway. He was absolutely awesome and highly recommend Leedy!
Took my dad’s pickup to them for a timing chain. Was told it would be done in 1 to 2 weeks. It was over 4 weeks till it was done. Also he was not communicating with us about it. He sent the truck out to another shop 50 minutes away, and never told us. He promised us it would be done either Friday or Tuesday since Monday was Labor Day. He did not call, so Wednesday noon we have to call him, and he says it is done. When we picked the truck up, the drivers side running board is torn off and laying in the back of the truck. Again, he did not tell us. Also he smoked in the truck. He was very arrogant the whole time we were trying to deal with him. I would NOT recommend this shop to anyone!!!
Had my vehicle here numerous times. Every time I’ve been meet w exceptional customer care. And exceedingly great quality workmanship. My engine is still running great!! Had an emergency situation and they handled it immediately on the spot. Can’t say enough good things about Leedy and the team they have. Highly recommend!!
These guys are fantastic! They helped me when they didn't have to. I had a nail in my tire and was near by when I noticed it so I stopped by and he went out of his way to put my spare on and rotate my tires.
These guys are awesome. Great rebuild on my LS motor and stand behind their work. I would highly recommend this business for you motor rebuilds including performance work.

Back story made a lot shorter....
I had a "mechanic" help me as my motor started making noises...He traveled from Hanover to York and was supposed to rebuild my motor when he found out what was wrong with it.... I helped a small bit, but definitely did not have all the knowhow about how to remove a motor efficiently..... Well. 5 years later said "mechanic" has changed his number and although I shook hands and paid him 600 bucks up front to get started and let him have my brothers (borrowed) engine stand to allow him to work on more than one motor at a time...... Well. Lesson learned.
Took my grandma's death and some money left to me to be able to afford a shop to put it all together.
They had to source a bunch of items as well as put this thing back together.
Good group of guys! I don't think I will ever have a traveling mechanic that does house calls ever work on a car of mine again.

Top shelf Machinists. Reasonable pricing and turn around time. Very experienced and Highly recommended.
Although this place looks a little rough, and the owner is well...a little rough himself (it's part of his charm), I am very pleased with how well my project went together. There were a few mis-steps along the way, and man-o-man could they use a full time front desk employee; but, they got the job done. Remember, there are only 3 aspects of automotive service with a shop like this: Price, Speed, and Quality.
Pick two.
Don't go here expecting to get award winning customer service, but they will stand behind their work, and they will make it right. Period.
Thanks Guys, you have breathed new life into what I thought was a dying dream.
This garage seemed nice enough, fixed my mother in laws vehicle when she didn't have enough to buy a new car. The engine they did was under warranty, so when it broke down about a week later, we took it to them, and were told it would be done the following week by friday. That was April 18th. Between then and now we have got numerous different dates it would be completed, and also been hung up on numerous times when calling to check on the vehicle, and express our frustrations with the situation. After the experience we have had with them this last month and a half (still done have the van back) I will never bring another car there, and am going to make sure my friends from the car clubs know not to go there.
They have one of the best deep engine repairs shops in York Co. They can do anything, but their specialty is the stuff that no one else can or wants to fix. Try them; you won't regret it.
Leedy's been doing my machine work since 2003, when my '97 Z-28 sucked a valve just before I was deployed to Iraq. I've had the shop build my small block, solid cammed roller since then. The machine work has been great! The shop is helping me with my '69 Chevelle now. I want to update this review when my project is done.
Highly recommend for those who have some mechanical ability and are willing to use it.
