This rating is based on customer reviews, inventory size, pricing, and service quality
Charlie's Repair Service in York Springs, PA earns a broadly positive reputation for towing and truck repair. Reviewers cite professional, helpful techs, quick roadside help, and fair, transparent pricing, plus heavy-wrecker capability. Professionalism and speed at fair rates are the standouts. Downsides: one report of misdiagnosis with a tow suggested but later disputed by another shop, and a long oil-change wait due to parts not in stock with billing frustrations (wait-time/parts availability). Little info on inventory variety, yard organization, or parts-finding. Overall: 84/100.
What clients say about Charlie's Repair Service in York Springs (PA)
Incredible local company with the capacity for heavy wrecker service. Tow truck operators are knowledgeable and helpful in the midst of your crisis. Highly recommended to anyone with towing needs.
Called roadside to diagnose a air leak he said my air compressor was bad and wanted to tow the truck to the shop. Got the truck towed to my mechanic in Md and it was a valve and brake chamber leak.
Ben came to the rescue and helped me to repair the air leak on my trailer. He was informative and hands-on great with his road service. Fair price and honest. I loved the fast and convenient call-free credit card payment option on his machine. Thank you!
Today I was at their place, first I looked at the reviews, I see 5 stars and all the good reviews, but I'm disappointed, I arrived, I left the truck and waited for a long time waiting for the hall, then asked what was the problem , they told me they ran out of oil filters and someone went to the store, in general, I expected two and a half hours and so they also counted the time for a trip to the store, for replacing the oil two and a half hours is terrible, and yet for the lack of spare parts, who is still guilty and who should pay for it? But they still took it from me!
P.s. They don't put some grease on my fifth wheel and in other places where they usually do for a bonus in other places for oil change!
Charlie's Repair is hands down the best truck mechanic shop I've ever dealt with! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by their professionalism and honest approach. It's rare to find a mechanic who not only does great work but also offers fair and transparent pricing.
I brought my truck in for some repairs, expecting a hefty bill, but team was upfront about everything. They explained the issues clearly and gave me options without trying to upsell unnecessary services. The quality of their work is outstanding, and they finished the job quickly, which was a huge relief.
If you're looking for a trustworthy and skilled mechanic who genuinely cares about their customers, I highly recommend Charlie's Repair. It's refreshing to know there's still a place you can go for honest work at a fair price!
