Great place to recycle, very efficient. Jake helped unload my scrap and was very friendly!. In the office she was very efficient and could not be any nicer!
If you have any scrap metal, come and see those guys. They’ll take care of you. They have excellent customer service and are well-educated about their work. There are two other amazing guys, Rommel and Brian.
I'm pretty sure they make up what they want to give you each time. I can't speak for all locations, but sharonville is iffy. Just go down to river city Metals and get what you're supposed to. The prices have heavily varied in the same day for me. Just today they attempted to give me $205 for about 1200 lbs of clean aluminum and 1800 lbs of clean steel. Ieven tried to call the headquarters and nobody answered. Left a message and still haven't gotten a call back. Their prices are also always well below the average. You likely worked hard for your scrap metals, take it somewhere else and get what you worked for.
My handyman hubby passed away and left me a whole Shop full of "metal things".

Then I met *CHARLIE* . So patient, so kind, so knowledgeable. He put me at ease, explained what I should do and how to do it!

I have gone to this place to scrap quite a few times, but never an experience like this one. Granted i showed up 3:02 due to traffic, The lady was super nice and let me in to dump(I drove 30min to get there) Unfortunately my load got stuck and when i ask for someone to help me real quick, ALL i got was.... it's passed 3:00 we are not allowed to help.(As he was sitting on a forklift playing on his phone. I asked, what am i supposed to do leave my truck here? His words.... Not my problem!! you knew it was passed 3:00 and we cannot help. WOW!! Luckily there was another guy willing to help me out, and i am grateful for him. Just a sad way to do business.
If anyone out there has had their windshield cracked by Cohen truck debris and been refused payment by the company please contact me. I'm gathering examples of misconduct to rally a case against them! My windshield was cracked by a Cohen truck and I let slip that I didn't have a dash cam of the event. Next thing I know "their systems can't place the truck I identified." and then I ask them to confirm the plate number; more push back. Run your business but know that if you mess with honest people evidence will be found against you and you will pay ten-fold! End of rant!

Total ripoff. Took a load of scrap steel. Weighed in @ 5600 lbs, out @ 5000. Got paid for 80 lbs. when I asked, the woman checked the recording as to weather my truck was centered on the scale but apparently the recording doesn’t show the scale reading…….how convenient. I won’t be back……I’ll drive the extra miles to Miamitown.
Best place for your recycling needs! Fair & competitive pricing and workers are friendly & helpful. They close at 3pm so don't show up at 3:01 expecting open arms, with that said come on time and you will have a great experience and compensated well for your scrap!
I had a horrible experience here ..I went to scrap some refrigerators and I was expecting to be paid. They told me I owe them. How is this scrapping . All you Gotta do is go right to River city metals in Newport Kentucky $10-$15 a fridge they give you.
It's very difficult to maneuver around the scale nowhere to park when you got a big trailer cannot see the woman in the window. I know I'm not there to make friends But the woman had no vocal skills was chewing on something the whole time I was waiting there place just isn't the greatest to go but I had no choice and good luck hope you don't get a flat tire those metal everywhere
Solid setup and procedures. Pull up to the glass and make sure the person can see your car. Once the light turns green, go to the secondary stop to be directed towards your correct pile. Unload, re-weigh, and get paid.
they have the friendliest most hopeful staff of any scrap yard I've ever been to they are amazing and I used to be a professional scrapper I've never had a crew so nice and so helpful in my life this place is awesome I recommend it to everybody best scrap yard in town
They don't make it easy on a first time visitor and I may be too critical. My expectations may not be in line. Maybe they are understaffed. The reason I share the details is because there is so much room for improvement for a user friendly experience and more efficiency. There is no explanation on the steps you need to take to and where you need to go. If you are lucky, you can find a customer to ask like I did. When you first pull up, you have your vehicle weighed. After the worker behind the reflected, tinted window that you can barely see gives you a thumbs up, you then get in line for the next building. There was a huge oil patch at the next building by the way. However, you are not done if you have aluminum, stainless steel, other metals and steel. The first building does not accept steel. When you leave the first building you have to go weigh your vehicle again. After you take your scrap steel to the very back of the property, but no one tells you that because they all assume you have been there before. If it helps to know, I would not drive a nice car there. It will get dirty. Dusty gravel on the day I was there. When I was driving I saw shiny metal pieces all over the place when you are driving on the property after the scale and the fear sets in real fast that you may damage your tire(s). There is no one to help you unload your steel items at the back of the lot and I recommend to bring a person to help you if you have steel objects that are heavy. After you unload your steel items, you go back for your final weigh in with your vehicle. Now I was not expecting this type of place to be super clean. I was comparing it to some other places I have been before for scrap metal that were entirely paved/concrete and easy to understand the process. On a positive note, it feels great to get items out of the garage and taken to place that will recycle the them. Rather than just put metal out for Rumple trash pick up.
I took a good amount of scrap metal and wire to recycle here. They were friendly and sorted through the items I brought quickly. I received a good payment, and cashed out quickly! I will return to this business for future need!
Dropped off a car lod of old computers and electronics for recycling as well as some old CRT monitors. People were friendly and the process was simple. Read their "First Timers" guide on their website to help direct you where to go.
I had 55 gallon drums I needed to dispose of after a new store opening. I also have loads of old parts and I will probably drive them up there. Any small business with a truckload of old parts should consider.
Very unfriendly and confusing experience for average consumers who have something to recycle. Very little useful signage around. For example, there's a sign that says something along the lines of "park here and wait for an assistant" right next to the scale, immediately followed by a "no parking on scale" sign. The one employee I saw was unhelpful.
I ended up just dropping off what I brought and leaving without being paid. I should have received $15-25 for what I brought in. I got nothing, and didn't even get to drop off the CRTs I needed to recycle.
Just left Cohen in Sharonville. They have the best price across the board on everything type of metals. The people there are great to deal with. The man in the garage is very fare and always looking out for the customer. Couldn’t ask for a better place to to take our scrap!
Lowest prices anywhere. Horrible company. Better watch driving thru their lot. Phipps recycling is a much better company best prices anywhere, and outstanding customer service.
This place is absolutely pathetic and greedy. I watched it turn into a the waste of space and resources it is today! Now I just throw unwanted metal next to garbage cans, some one else can have it. My time alone is worth way more. Then you have to account for gas wear and tear and flat tires. if your desperate for money sell your car buy a $10 or $20 ten speed bicycle from thrift store, or better yet garbage pick one for free! Put a set of tubes, tires, rim bands on ($32) maybe $10 more for chain lube and bearing grease. Do the labor your self for an hour or two now your self reliant, no more paying a mechanic"money saved!".
Great, now get a minimum wage job close to home and you'll have more money and time than than most people unless you have a self inflicted debt, ether way you'll be a lot better off. That covers your money situations

Money later-you have a job, as a bonus no more wasting a lot of your time on long commutes to work, no more money wasted on fuel, oil, tires, or repairs for a car! Bicycle is much cheaper repair can be done in the living room
As an extra bonus if you want to join a fitness club save that money, do your normal routines without a car and it will be way more effective and efficient than any gym
