Parts Galore JunkYard in Detroit (MI)

They're scammers. Sold me a battery 11.20.23 and had to get it replaced 12.13.23. after that the battery read bad at auto zone on 1.24.24 and they said since it reads ok with them they refuse to swap it out. They're batteries and service is trash 💯

This place is really convenient. You only need to pay $2 to enter for the day. Bring your own tools and pull your own parts. You can call ahead and see if they have the car you're looking for in the yard so you don't waste your time too. It's about as simple as you-pick junk yards can get. They also have engine lifts available to use and wheelbarrows to carry your stuff too.

I called to see if a particular part and color was in inventory. I never have had this much difficulty obtaining a direct answer from a receptionist. It took calling in 5 times before giving telling me they had the auto part in inventory. I'm Still unsure if they have the color.

Sold my disabled vehicle with them. Very courteous. Quick to respond and had an appointment 2 days later. Showed up as scheduled, driver was friendly. Check in hand on pick up. Glad to have it off of my place. Would recommend.

Don't come up here for rims they knew none of them cars had rims they just want the 2 dollars they take them off an scrap them hopefully my mistake can save someone else some time an money

Very friendly and professional. Pam did a great job getting the pickup scheduled (had to reschedule because of a snowstorm… she called and got it scheduled for the next day); and Scott the tow truck driver was fast and made the sale very simple and easy. I would HIGHLY recommend doing business with this company 👍 I hope they stay in business a long time!!!!

NEVER GIVEN CREDIT FOR DOUBLE CHARGE ON CREDIT CARD!!!! Bought 2 doors with core charge. Brought doors back for core charge refund. Asked cashier if it was REFUNDED on receipt it LOOKED like charged again. Cashier told me thats the way their system processes it and it was credit and WOULD take bank time to CREDIT me. Statement showed DOUBLE charge. I called for credit had to wait for manager not in. Talked to Manager "Researching" receipt NUMBER information.CALLED BACK FOR MANAGER NEVER GIVEN credit which is STEALING FROM MY ACCOUNT. MANAGER HOSTILE AND RUDE. DO NOT SHOP HERE UNLESS U WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF!!! FIND ANOTHER JUNK YARD THIS IS UNETHICAL. NO WONDER OTHER LOCATIONS ARE CLOSED!!! BE WARE!! CREDIT my card. Looked at credit card statement I was charged again, this being charged DOUBLE instead of refund..

They've definitely improved over the last couple of years, but still aren't the best around. They're on the slower side of turning over vehicle inventory of the yards in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful, which has been one of the bigger improvements to match their very reasonable prices. I definitely like that I can pay for one location and get into the other 2 without paying again.

Best salvage yard in my experiences. They may not have the vehicle you need on the lot, but if you simply call ahead of time they can tell you that. Once you et there they will hand you a list of how many they have like what you're looking for, and a location. Fool proof! The lot is very organized, and setup which is rare. I do a lot of automotive work using used parts, and I use them for my own vehicles. The pricing is unbeatable, and I leave in shock every time because I pay a fraction of what I expected for needed components! I expected less out of the staff, but they shocked me with knowledge and kindness also! It's an hour drive for me to get here, than others in my area, but worth it.

For a u pick junk yard pretty clean and organized. Rows are labeled on first car in row. Alot of the cars are picked clean but it's a junkyard, you expect to find anything but junk here you're looking in the wrong place. It took me 12 cars to find my one part, it only cost me $16 plus the $2 entry fee, the part brand new is $400 not a bad gamble in my eyes. I suggest you search the inventory on their website your self some of the employees are half witted and rude

Was so nice to go there with friendliness staff, from the receptionist with the pretty nails to the staff in yard to security checking out. Great jpb everyone!!! And yes found the third seat for a 2001 town & country daughter needed.

Just because it's Jack standed with rims, still test it before going beneath because the ground shifts and a lot of times they are not placed properly. Keep in mind the cars that are jacked up are rusting away also.

I was a little shocked there was an entrance fee but it's very well maintained. The cars are easy to find the prices were probably the best surprise of all. I would Def recommend this business and have already.

Most of the vehicles are picked clean or the body panels are damaged . Sometimes you get lucky . Check their inventory first !

Great place and good prices. Parts inventory is all listed out online and the website is easy to navigate. I noticed some inventory isn’t switched out as frequently as it used to be but other than that there is no issue with Parts Galore. It is a U-Pull yard so you should go there expecting such and the employees are really only there to cash you out.

Great place to find your pickings! Always love coming here with the hubby to get parts for our "junk" lol But for real though they saved our cars quite a few times!! Drove all the way here had to pull off a starter which would take me 5 minutes and because I got there at 5:31 they locked the doors at 5:30 so you can't get into the place then why do they say it closes at 6:00 for the cucking idiots that are already in there what about the people that are cucking driving there!! Other than that the place is okay

Parts Galore in general is one of the best upull yards in MI. Dont let the area fool you or sway you. If you're thinking of going, absolutely do. The people are nice, employees are friendly and professional and the yard is extremely easy to understand and walk through.

This place has a large selection. The rows are well spaced. Be sure to check out the web page. They have vehicle LOCATION!! They sell used batteries and tires.

I checked ahead and made sure that they had my parts. There is always a wide variety, even if you have to hunt for them. But for the price, you cannot go wrong if you're doing the work yourself anyway. If you're smart enough to be able to do your work you are smart enough to get the parts yourself. And you can't beat the price!

There is a reply to the owners response at the end of the original comments. Despite what is claimed in the response the original comments are 100% factual. Whoever wrote this response obviously doesn't have first hand knowledge of the actual conditions being addressed in this review. You should read and address the concerns expressed, and not be on-line trying to make excuses!!! I have been coming here for many years, and am in their loyalty program. However, after my last visit I doubt I will return to this location! They have made some changes lately, which have all been negative. They have doubled the admission fee just to get in to the yard. They removed the "old stuff" section, and pushed the Chrysler section back into the area where it is further away to get to, and much harder to walk through because of all of the rough fill material. While they were making this change they removed decent vehicles which had been in inventory for a very short time, while leaving completely stripped vehicles that have been sitting for months. They have removed all of the price lists from the yard, so there is no way to check the price of a part without going all the way back to the office. The quality of the vehicles has gone way down- even the recently available vehicles appear to have been stripped prior to being made available. Yet the "hazardous" things they are supposed to remove (mercury switches, lead battery terminals, etc.) are not being removed. It's also nearly impossible to find a mirror, headlight, taillight, or piece of glass that hasn't been smashed. They should put staff in the yard to help prevent some of the vandalism. However, the worst part is the staff! It seems like all new staff (I only saw one person I recognized from previous visits), and they treat customers like dirt. When I went in some staffer insisted on looking through my tool box ON THE WAY IN- I've never had this happen before. Then, after waiting in line to check out, when it was finally my turn, they decided they wanted to wait on someone in line behind me FIRST! Well, I do not need anything badly enough to put up with that!!! Unless I hear that they have addressed these issues, I will not return to this location! IN REPLY TO YOUR RESPONSE- Your admission price is 100% higher than other self serve yards in the local area. IF you added any gravel to the area where you relocated the Chrysler section to you did a very poor job, as it is much harder to walk through than the previous spot where they were located. As to price lists- when I was last there THERE WEREN'T ANY POSTED IN THE YARD! Also, not everybody has a mobile on-line device. Your turn over rate is much slower than it was previously- there were vehicles that had been there for over 6 months. Also, when you relocated the Chrysler's you removed vehicles that had been out a relatively short time, while leaving vehicles that had been there much longer. Whether you remove lead and mercury by choice or requirement isn't relevant- the fact is it ISN"T BEING DONE! That is the point being made. I notice the one (and most important) thing that you do not address in your response is the poor way your employees treat customers. As far as speaking to anyone- that's a joke!!! I'm in the loyalty program, I'll start there. The worst part about this place is there's no where near enough gravel/sand to make the walkways decent between cars. So make sure you wear boots if it has snowed or rained recently. Other than that, great selection for it not being as large (IMO) as the other 2 locations, great prices & warranties offered. Foreign cars all the way in the back! Figures though.

I had a junk car that had been sitting in my garage for almost three years. I called, received a reasonable price and the car was picked up in a timely manner with a check the same day! Thanks Parts Galore for helping me scrap my car.

Great place found what i was looking for but I dont every time I go. Friendly people and staff. There are so many vehicles to choose from I will defintly be going back. They have a 45 day return policy but only for store credit if you buy anything no matter what it is you will not get any cash back if you return it. Make sure you wear work close its dirty and muddy. Bring your own tools but no grinders torches or jacks are allowed. Trucks are in the front of the lot then vans and Ford past that on the left GM on the right.all out her makes past that. Not sure if they take credit or debit but they take cash for sure.

Honestly I thought I'd walk into someplace with some useable parts. These cars ALL had busted windows so absolutely very little interior was available. Just a square miles of junk. Not to mention they wanted $30 plus a $15 core for a used battery. On to the next one
