I had a very disappointing experience with this dealership. I had spoken to a salesperson over the phone who quoted me a price and assured me that although my preferred car colour was not in stock, they could ship it within a week or two. Since I had to drive two hours to the showroom, I confirmed multiple times that the colour and quoted price were accurate before making the trip. Interestingly, another dealer I had spoken to earlier warned me that this dealership might promise availability just to get customers into the showroom and asked me to contact him if things didn’t work out. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. When I arrived, the salesperson I had been dealing with completely avoided me despite being present in the showroom. I was asked to wait 15 minutes but ended up waiting over an hour while he walked around assisting others. Eventually I was assigned another salesman who pushed me to buy a different colour they already had in stock, and the manager wasn’t helpful either. He insisted no one could source my chosen colour anytime soon and I might have to wait for over a month (which I was ok with). Ironically, the same dealer who warned me sourced the exact car I wanted at a lower price and had it delivered within three days. Very disappointing service and a clear lack of respect for a serious customer.

I want to make it very clear that this review is specifically for Crystal Audas in the service department at Volkswagen Alamo Heights — not the dealership as a whole. When I first got my car back in October, I’ll be honest, I had some issues pop up within the first two months — tires and brakes — on a vehicle that was sold to me as new. It was extremely frustrating, but Crystal stepped in and truly advocated for me. She fought to make sure my concerns were taken care of and, if I’m remembering correctly, she’s the reason I ended up with the warranty I have now. Crystal has consistently been my service advisor, and every time I’ve had an issue, she’s been incredibly helpful, supportive, and kind. She communicates clearly, doesn’t brush off my concerns, and always makes sure things get handled the right way. I also want to give a quick shout-out to the service and parts departments — they’re the only areas of the dealership where I consistently experience genuine kindness and helpfulness. But again, this review is for Crystal. She’s amazing at what she does, she actually cares about her customers, and she deserves recognition for going above and beyond every single time. Thank you, Crystal, for always looking out for me.

February 9 2026. Volkswagen 2023 Taos purchase from Volkswagen Alamo. On this day I walked into the dealership with the hopes of leaving with a reliable and safe vehicle. Jon sold me the vehicle and Robert approved the purchase. I left the dealership, and within 4-6 miles the car began to make a dragging sound. I pulled over at the VIA station and seen that my cars belly pan was dragging, cause the car to drive poorly. I informed Jon that I would return FEB 10, to correct this issue. I returned FEB 10, and left with no belly pan, because the current belly pan was destroyed due to me driving the car over 50 miles due to where my residence is located. Jon and I agreed I would return the following Tuesday (02/17/2026) I came on Thursday (02/19/2026) at 3pm at the request or Robert (Sales manager). I at this time had three issues. No belly pan which I was informed multiple times by Jon and Roberto that “belly pans aren’t necessary “ but they cost $296.00. The key fob battery was dying and the windshield wipers are bald. I was here on 02/17/2026 for 3.5 hours and left with a key fob battery and a full tank of gas after begging Jessie the VW manager to compensate for having come down here three separate times, spent a total of 7.5 hours at VW over the course of this issue, now having three current issues in 8 days, followed by three days of work missed, and unnecessary mileage added to my newly purchased vehicle. Jessie was rude, cold, unprofessional, and an overall disappoint as a manger. I had to call Corporate to get a belly pan, and windshield wipers. Today is 03/04/2026 I am here for a fourth time for a belly pan. I received my belly pan, simply because I involved corporate.

I had a great experience with my sales person pharaoh and the whole team. I will continue to buy from this location thanks guys.

I love Volkswagen and my Volkswagen car. However Dealership service is amazing but it when comes to estimate wait times they need to be a little bit more honest about it. My weight time was double and no matter what service you’re getting they promise Uber to take you back home and pick you back up. Which they did do for me and they should do for every customer whether it’s an oil change or more than that specially when you just an oil change, you could run into issues or they’re just flooded with service and it takes three or more hours!!! The best part is after all of that they do wash your exterior of your car!! On top the amazing service the easy check-in and check out is top-notch!!

Great customer service. I recently bought a vehicle from here. The sales department is very professional, as soon as I got off of my vehicle I was helped by a nice women. I want to thank Ahmed, he was in contact with me for a few hours & immediately came to my service. I cant thank you guys enough, yall are awesome

Great service from this location. Drop off process and work that was needed was explained well by the Service Advisor. The technician also provided great notes and a video of what the issue was which was super informative. The only complaint I have is that the follow-up on the status of the vehicle was not consistent throughout. I had to leave my car in the shop all week while I was out of town and I had to request status updates. Otherwise the service was great and car is running great! I will definitely come back.

This is one of the best experiences I’ve had getting my car repaired! Crystal was absolutely fantastic. She explained everything in detail and kept me very up to date on my car’s whereabouts! As for the technician that worked on my car, he did fantastic as well! I appreciated the clear communication from everyone, it definitely helped with the process! I would 100% recommend bringing your vw here if you need it serviced!

Crystal, the advisor was so helpful. I have a 2026 Atlas and all of a sudden started having issues. She worked nonstop input us as a priority. Her customer service was amazing! We have gone back and used her again and I know we will use her in the future!
Feb 27, 2026 -
First off, when you know what the problem is and want a simple quote and are told they have to diagnose it at 190.00— rip off!! It’s bad enough that you sold me a defective EOS that only has 70k miles on it now. The top doesn’t work. Fine. But at least tell me how much it will cost to get it to latch. I ballpark amount is good enough.

Ramon Buchanan was spectacular when getting my car serviced! He provided fantastic customer service. Very honest and helpful. 100% recommend him as a service advisor.

I had a great experience with Errolyn. She was honest and straight to the point. I had a bad experience with another salesman who i wont name out of respect but i saw errolyn all over these other reviews and asked for her. Im kind of blunt and straight to the point and she was able to give me yes or no answer on the number i had in mind in a few hours over the phone. We solidified the deal and i drove down the next day to pick up my vehicle.

First time visiting this service department and they exceeded my expectations. My service advisor, Iris, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful & greatly appreciated the level of communication & support I received from her. I also received incredible support from the department that set up a loaner car. Highly recommended!!

Andy was amazing. He is a genuine person and worked with us and only showed us vehicles in our price range and what we were looking for. Very knowledgeable about the vehicles and just a good person. Thank you Andy for making buying a new car an enjoyable experience. He should be the employee of the month!

Rick was truly an amazing car salesman to work with. He took the time to genuinely listen and understand exactly what we were looking for and delivered exactly that. He was transparent throughout the entire process, explained everything clearly, and never made us feel rushed or pressured. Most importantly, he respected our time, which made the whole buying experience smooth and stress-free. If you’re purchasing from Volkswagen Alamo Heights, Rick is absolutely your guy. Highly recommend!

We had a really great experience from start to finish. Our car sales consultant John Pacheco was super patient, understanding, and genuinely worked with us instead of against us. He never made us feel rushed or pressured and took the time to listen to what we actually wanted, which made the whole process way less stressful. We also got Mark Payton as our Finance Manager who was awesome. My family and I ended up bonding with him over where he was from, which made everything feel comfortable right away. On top of that, he was really helpful and clear, always making sure we understood everything before moving forward. Nothing ever felt confusing or brushed over. Overall, they made what’s usually a stressful experience feel easy and positive. We felt respected, comfortable, and confident in our decision. Would definitely recommend working with them if you want a stress free time!!!!

This was one of the best service experiences I have ever had. The entire team was warm and welcoming. Roselyn took the time to go over not only my current service, but what to expect with service in the future. You can tell that she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in taking care of them like family. I look forward to working with Roselyn in the future. I hope this review is shared with her. If so, thank you Roselyn for a great experience. See you in another 10k miles! ?

An exceptional experience from start to finish. Today was my first visit, and from the moment Ramon Buchanan greeted me and checked me in, I genuinely felt valued. He explained every step of the process, provided an accurate estimated wait time, verified my service coverage, offered to complete an infotainment system recall update, arranged a car wash, ordered a recall part that wasn’t in stock, and even sent me a video of my vehicle being serviced while I waited. I don’t yet know the name of the mechanic who worked on my car, but I fully intend to find out and thank him. I’ll be requesting both him and Ramon for all future services. I chose Alamo VW because the dealership where I originally purchased my vehicle lacked customer service to the point that I felt anxious even thinking about returning. A friend recommended Alamo, and giving them a chance was absolutely the right decision. I came prepared for a 2.5 to 3 hour wait with snacks in hand, but I checked in at 0915 and was driving out by 1040. Thank you for this experience.

Pleasant experience that I had I have a 2014 TDI Jetta that I previously bought and serviced up north when I lived there. As a TDI, I like having dealer service it at regular 10k intervals. I scheduled that service online, was very simple. I noted that it already had a DSG flush from previous dealer service at 110k; Crystal took that and did not try to up-sell anything. Indeed, she actually saved me money to the point that I paid a price comparable to any local mechanic. They did the complementary inspection with video and it looked good (again, not trying to sell anything) Overall, very pleasant experience with people who know the unique features of a TDI Jetta; I will bring my car back for future service.

Completely unprofessional, unethical business team, provided a completely disappointing and negative experience; Tim Bailey (sales), Jesse Spencer Jr (sales manager), Mark Payton (financing) I co-signed for financing/used vehicle purchase early 12/31/2025- the vehicle was already listed online for sale but had not gone through inspection/service. I was told by salesperson (Tim Bailey) that there was “high possibility” the car would be ready that same day since it was early (depending on findings of inspection and needed services) or in a couple of days and it would be prioritized to front of line for service- we further discussed the situation about needing the vehicle sooner rather than later and he further stated that the vehicle seemed to be in overall good condition and wouldn’t require much service. I received an update on 1/3/2026 and I was informed that a part needed to be replaced was waiting delivery and that it was rushed delivery. Delivery of the vehicle was not progressing like originally discussed- early on 1/5/2025 I went to a sister dealership as I was still looking to purchase a vehicle and explained the situation I was in (already have signed a financing/purchase contract but no delivery of vehicle)- I was informed by the sales team that the deal can be rescinded under the circumstances of delay and the vehicle no being delivered/driven off the lot. I reached out to Tim Bailey via text/phone call explaining that I would not like to proceed with purchasing the vehicle and to cancel everything after 3 business (5 calendar days). I had also reached out to Ally financial services that day, 1/5/26- in the morning and afternoon, and they informed me that the contract had not been received/processed indicating it can be canceled by dealership. I went in person to talk to Tim Bailey Monday 1/5 and requested to speak to his manager, and he informed Jesse Spencer was his manager and was notified about me waiting to speak to him. Tim was evading my requests and still pressing that car would be ready soon. It seemed like I was being evaded since first requesting to rescind the contract; I waited 20 minutes for Jesse Spencer and he never showed up- that was all the time I had to spare as I had to get to work. I did not get any response that day, the following day 1/6 I forwarded the email requesting cancellation to Mark Payton. I did not get a response Jan. 7-9- I called Jan. 10 and was able to speak to Jesse Spencer and he gave me an update that the vehicle not only needed a part but also a tool to install that part and that was pending delivery as well. At this point, 11 days since signing, delivery of the vehicle was delayed due to circumstances outside the control of both parties- the customer should not have to penalized for this. I requested over 8 times via various communication methods to at least 4 different employees as of 1/5 about cancellation- I have been evaded since then. I was called 1/14 and notified that the vehicle was ready- and again I notified a different staff member that I have been requesting to cancel since 1/5. I spoke to Ally numerous times since the 1/5- on 1/12, 1/19, and 1/22- they informed the same thing each call, that the contract can be canceled by dealership by sending them cancellation forms. Today, 1/24/26, the car was dropped off (abandoned) on my street a few houses down from my home- poorly parked, unlocked, with the keys inside. How is this right or ethical business behavior? These individuals engage in horrible business practices- when it comes down to helping and doing the right thing, they will do the right thing for themselves and their bottom line- they truly demonstrated zero integrity and poor character and don't care about having a negative impact on a customer. All this caused me to incur additional unexpected expenses and unnecessary stress. I own my mistakes in this case- my mistake here was being too trusting that business would be conducted in good faith and reasonable professionalism- instead this team lived up to the unscrupulous car sales reputation.

My 2022 Atlas was in the shop for two weeks for a defective tail light. I appreciated that my service advisor Rodney Audas kept me updated and always responded the same day. He was able to get me a loaner and my extended warranty covered all costs. I don’t usually make posts but was impressed with customer service this time around. Keep up the good work Rodney!

When my 2019 Volkswagen Atlas light came on the brake light that is I had no idea it was gonna be the whole casing that had to be replaced. I had a warranty on it, but wasn’t sure if that was gonna cover it. I went in and found out it was gonna cost about 245 if I used my deductible, but Rose and Linda was so helpful and she got me to check my warranty and was able to get my car repaired within two hours she was very friendly. She was courteous and she even told me they were gonna wash my car after I already washed it the day before I never realized the service of Volkswagen was this good it may be a 2019 Atlas but I love this car and I love the company even more now and I won’t go back until Rosalie’s there to help me with the next situation which is an oil change so thank you Rosalinda. Thank you so much took the stress out of my day and I went back right out to make more money. see you again.

Rodney did an excellent job since the moment I came to drop off my car for a 30k mikes inspection and a software refresh. Contacted me often to let me know how things were going, called me the second day to say the car was ready to go. Came by to pick it up and Rodney took care of everything in a very expedite way. Thanks VW Alamo Heights !

Crystal at the Volkswagen dealership took really good care of me from start to finish. The service was fast, smooth, and stress-free. She was attentive, professional, and made sure everything was handled efficiently. I’m truly grateful for her help and outstanding customer service. I absolutely love my Atlas Cross Sport and will definitely continue doing business with Volkswagen because of experiences like this. Highly recommend asking for Crystal!

I hadn’t been to this dealership in years mainly because of the location, but I recently had to schedule an appointment for a recall and things have definitely changed for the better. Communication was excellent from start to finish. They were quick, organized, and Crystal kept me informed the entire time my car was there. I received a detailed report along with a video showing the services performed and any issues they found, which I really appreciated. I value clear communication, and the constant updates and video report were outstanding. Crystal was professional and great to work with. I do wish the dealership was closer or offered loaner vehicles, but overall the experience was very positive.

I'd give zero stars after my recent experience with sales staff. I wanted to purchase a 25 Jetta sport they had listed on their website, and capital one partner auto navigator. Sales rep said woops it was a dealer transfer. And tried to upsell me on a more expensive one, same trim and color but from the window sticker the only difference is the smart rear view mirror. I had to ask for the otd price multiple times before it was given to me. The more expensive one had more miles. Not significant, but not the 5 miles listed on other websites. I requested them at least come down to 1k under what the "dealer transfered" one was due to 15 more miles and inconvenience of the website not being updated on multiple platforms. It doesn't take multiple days to update an internal website if that is the case. I had vin and stock number. Dealership transfers are well known in advance. Because of liability of transport, and scheduling transfer times with other dealership. Not to mention violates dpta. The listing is on both of their dealership groups as well. Same vin and stock number. I tried to find the dealer they transferred it to, but searching vin doesn't post any other results other than this dealership. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Update: vehicle is still on site. And the lowest priced new vehicle. As of 16:53pm Monday Dec 8 25. The vehicle has been on the website since last week Wednesday. I have the screenshots, same stock number same vin number. I have proof because I had gotten a quote my from my auto insurance company on Wednesday morning at 0829 on December 3rd.

We had an outstanding experience at Volkswagen of Alamo Heights! We originally stopped by “just to look,” because we didn’t plan to buy a vehicle that same day. That changed the moment we met our salesperson, Errolyn C. She was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and informative—never pushy. Her calm, genuine approach left such a great impression on us that even after visiting other car lots, we returned specifically to work with her. Michael K. also joined in to help us through the process, and he made us feel completely comfortable and well taken care of. Both he and Errolyn even stayed after closing, in the rain, to walk us through some of the features on our new vehicle. That level of dedication is rare and truly appreciated. We also want to thank Anthony and Troy for their excellent support throughout the process. Good customer service is hard to find these days, but this entire team delivered exceptional service from start to finish. We love our new VW and highly recommend Volkswagen of Alamo Heights for anyone looking for an honest, professional, and caring team!

My wife purchased a used car for our first time driver daughter and the car had immediate issues on the drive home from the dealership. The low oil pressure light came on when leaving the dealership. I called the dealership to see what they could do as the car did not drive for more than 20 miles before this became an issue. They would not take the car back but instead offered a 12-month warranty by a 3rd party company. We took the car in for service a total of 4 times to try to get this resolved and it just confirmed my fears that the car needed a new engine and the one in it could not be repaired. The car was at the dealership for over 5 months while trying to get this resolved and the dealership would not ever call us to give us any updates on the progress so we would constantly need to call them to try to get information. I was very frustrated with this entire situation and spoke with the General Manager of the dealership (Robert) to see what they could do for us as they sold us a bad car. During this process we found that the car was at the dealership service department 2 times prior to the car being placed on the lot for sale for the exact same issue (low oil pressure light). The dealership said that the warranty company denied the claim because the cost was going to exceed the warranty plan. The dealership was not willing to compromise and make this right for the customer but instead expected us a repeat customer to take the hit and loss on this. The Service Director Michael Terry was not sympathetic to our situation and was more worried about charging for any extras that might be needed to replace the engine than help make the situation right for the customer. Chris Cameron the Sales Manager at the time was understanding of our situation but the General Manager Robert only offered to trade us out for another car. Trading us out for another car would have only given the dealership another opportunity to make more money off us instead of doing the right thing and helping us get the car fixed under warranty. We ended up taking the car to a small independent auto repair shop and would you believe that they were able to do what the dealership could not do in 5 months for us. They also made it simple for us not like the dealership whose service department lied to us saying that the warranty company denied the claim because of the cost of the repairs. This independent shop went through the same warranty company and they stated that the warranty repair was approved to be done at the dealership when they filed the claim with the warranty company. So, someone is not telling us the truth and I believe that it was Volkswagen of Alamo Heights being more concerned about their profits instead of taking care of the customers. I will not do any business with this dealership in the future. Do not trust the service department! Look at other reviews as other people seem to have a similar experience with their service.

***Update*** We emailed Mr. Geary two days after he replied to our review, giving him our email and phone information. However, it has been radio silence for over a week. No surprise their service desk handles issues the way they do. ***End of Update*** We had a scheduled 70,000 mile service of our Tiguan at 1:00 PM on a Saturday. Additionally, we had ordered parts for moonroof control panel due to it breaking, this a common issue and had asked for it to be repaired. The parts were purchased for $142.00 from VW of Alamo Heights and were waiting at their parts counter. We informed Ms. Leilani Rodriguez of the parts when checking and ensured she knew. We were told this part takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to install and man hours cost $100.00 per hour when we ordered them, but we were left confused when we were quoted $405.00 after the tech had performed their inspection. We called the service center and after 10 minutes on hold Ms. Rodriguez answered. We asked if the price included parts as we had already paid for them and she stated she would have to confirm with parts counter. We were placed on hold for another 5-10 minutes to be told the parts tech was extremely busy, but we would get a call back from her. 1 hour had passed and we attempted a call back, but we’re on hold for way too long and we decided to address when we picked up the vehicle around 4:15 PM. I asked why I was never called back and was given a half way response of I forgot and we were busy. Kind of understandable as they were quite busy when I was picking up the vehicle. When I asked about the price, she decided to lie instead of verifying by stating, “parts are more expensive when used by a tech than when purchased by a customer.” By this point I was frustrated and paid for the other service that was completed. However, when I went out to my vehicle the whole assembly was hanging down and swinging freely. See attached drop off photos versus pick up photos. I went in to speak with Ms. Rodriguez again as well as the tech. He stated I declined the fix, which is true, but it wasn’t in this state at drop off and it was due to their extremely poor service desk. Unsatisfactory customer service and accountability.
