This rating is based on customer reviews, inventory size, pricing, and service quality
In San Antonio, TX, reviews for Big Dog Towing and Recovery are sharply mixed. Many praise quick arrivals, courteous pros, careful transports (including a classic) and competitive pricing; others cite dangerous driving, vehicle damage, missing items, rude or no-response service, and unclear weekend availability. Professionalism and wait times vary from excellent to frustrating. Little info exists on inventory, yard organization, or part-finding. Overall: 62/100—good for speed/value, but marred by recurring safety and claims concerns.
What clients say about Big Dog Towing and Recovery in San Antonio (TX)
This company did a recovery on my vehicle in the process damaged my vehicle. Spoke with Mauro said they would fix my vehicle and now it’s been a month later and he doesn’t return any of my calls or text messages. This is ridiculous and unacceptable, very unprofessional.
Big Dog Towing made my request for help and towing service fast and easy. Jeremy and Carlos are on top of it and ready to work and get it done right, thank you guys for your diligence and service!
Last night one of your tow truck drivers terrorized motorists, including myself, flashing red illegal lights while speeding and tailgating. The truck was red with a bulldog, that is how I located the business. People like this are the reason people are full of road rage.
I was a tow truck driver. This is pure laziness. This guy's Going down culebra going 50-60 miles an hour. Pulling a grey chevy impala with no straps on either side of the front wheels..DANGEROUS!!
I am very satisfied with Big Dog Towing & Recovery . I live in Dallas Texas and I had a GMC Yukon in San Antonio Texas where Big Dog Towing & Recovery is located I needed a GMC Yukon to be repossessed in San Antonio Texas . I called Big Dog Towing & Recovery they repoed the GMC Yukon for me and stored it for me until I could get a transport company there to their location to pick up the Yukon and transport it back to Dallas Texas. I would definitely recommend Big Dog Towing & Recovery . I have only one complaint they are closed on weekends ?

Big Dog Recovery transported a Classic Vehicle that I have. I was so happy with the service and the way my vehicle was handled. Definitely using them again.
For five years, I've relied on Big Dog Recovery Specialist and Towing. Their responsiveness and assistance in vehicle pickups have been excellent. I highly recommend them, praising not just their expertise but also their competitive pricing.
Best towing company I experienced fast reply, friendly and reliable. Definitely recommend and will be contacting them for another tow when needed.. thank y’all so much
Be ware !!! This is a corrupted company. They will tow your vehicles uncarely. They will steal your vehicle if they think they can get away with it. Karma is one word I can promise. She goes around and visits everyone. They have took one of my vehicles there was not owed any money. It had no liens it has no liens. They kept giving me the runaround. Just to keep my vehicle and sell it in the future. Smh . #karma.
Driver of tow truck cut me off on Dominion Road exit and then lowered their towing equipment directly in front of my car going 60 mph. Dangerous, unfit to be on the road safely representing a business.

Driver was seen texting WHILE driving. Swerving left and right. Driver headed North on Blanco rd. Hope the driver is reprimanded or has to have a Supervisor with them.
