Oh yeah one last thing I called to complain about my neighbors fire alarm going off at 3 in the morning. The “officer “ drove up and down our street even thought i Gave them the address of their house. Did not get out of the car - not surprised my grandma is in better shape, and guess what. My poor neighbors house burned down the following week.

I talked to several security assistance these girls are great can you put out the welcome wagon for me and they did. Electronic Gates nobody understands did you see why you got high blood pressure by the time you leave the gate. The security assistance girls you keep up the good work.
Dont book an air bnb here the security system in place for the visitors is terrible. If you get a gate pass in the office its easy but you have endless daily visitors that take several minutes to process so when the weekend line gets to 20 cars your waiting wayyyy too long
Stayed in Airbnb here. The security and gate for guests that is implemented is pitiful. It takes an average of 10 minutes to get into the gate at anytime. On the weekends the line is out onto the main road with a wait of at least an hour. People having to back up everywhere. This place is AWFUL. The neighborhood is not nearly nice enough for the security to be like this. Ruined the entire airbnb experience
Terrible welcome area, they WILL tow ur car if u leave any car parked in THEIR lot. “Even if it’s only been an hour” quotes from tow company. Welcome area & security will watch u park there but not informed u any parking regulations, & they have one sign that is hanging sideways & not visible in the dark & overnight security guard stated “we have signs that are visible you should’ve been looking” If the booking has 2-3 cars max nd you bring a 4th vehicle just know it’ll be $520 tow bill coming per day, they will say “we called countless times” but have no proof of call log stating they reached out. Overnight guard (female) stated “go find parking somewhere else” mind everyone that is booking in this estate, you’re in the middle of the woods with no service at some parts & they expect u to park “some where else off their property” even tho u have a booking already in there estate. Very rude service nd disrespectful to paying customers.
We've had an Airbnb here since November 2024. As long as we've submitted the guests'paperwork in a timely manner (3 days before their arrival), we haven't had any issues, thankfully. Our guests have also said that the process went smoothly with security and obtaining gate passes. We also let our guests know that they must let us know right away when they've ordered for food delivery so that we can let the front gate know and this also has not been an issue. The community is strict about their rules but that was made clear to us before purchasing a home here and we were okay with this. The community is very well-kept and so as long as you follow the rules, there doesn't seem to be any issues.
Visiting my daughter so needed to get a visitors pass. Usually welcomed with kind staff, not Saturday. Rang the buzzer several time, no response so went into the office. Note there were 2 cars behind me. Guard at the office was rude. Dude, it doesn't take too much energy to be nice and tell the person at the gate,, be right with you.
I simply cannot deal with security and their attitudes and their unnecessary demands. Feel very sorry for the wonderful host who has done everything with detailed instructions to avoid such issues but it's completely unavoidable ???
To get the maximum one week visitor pass is BS. Why the hell is the main gate visitor pass office 100 miles from I-80 and 611 and the west gate with no office near I-80 and 611????!!!!!
were not just talking many more miles were talking twist and turns up and down the mountains for ever and ever.
Houses are nice, areas seems beautiful, security needs to step up it's customer service. They're not able to handle something unless they're lead like a horse with blinders. Guest passes didn't work at all either. Not sure why.
Look elsewhere if you want a home in the Poconos. This unfortunately is one of the worse HOAs to deal with. Guests complain. Residents complain . The welcome center staff is often curt, rude, and lacks any critical reasoning. It’s impossible to get Ubers or DoorDash or get contractors to do work in the community due to the gate situation. The staff seem to have very little to do a make it a priority to create erroneous rules, fines, and be in everyone’s business. And you pay $$$$ for all this!
If I could leave a zero, I would. Miles and miles of roadways, and they will not let Ubers in or out of the community regardless of renter or homeowner status. Leaving people to walk 1.5 miles on a road with no sidewalk in the wee hours of the morning is a horrific practice in terms of safety. And the worst part? We had a renter with a knee injury, and the "public safety" officer drove one single person back and left the rest to walk. Unacceptable behavior, and will never stay here again.
Not the worst hoa gatehouse to deal with ... Visitors can get a pass by using the kiosk at the actual gate. Takes a few minutes but, much easier than most (in the Poconos) to access.
The security (people) who work here are rude and disrespectful. They are not helpful and very dismissive. We rented a house for the weekend and although the house was nice and comfortable, I won't rent there again due solely to the people who work in the welcome center. They need to fire the entire staff that worked there on 1/19/24 between 5 pm and midnight.
The staff and security are super friendly and work very hard. However, they do need to change their gate system. While I am a guest who has stayed here on two separate occasions with friends who just purchased in the area. Trying to get in is such a nightmare and pretty much all hours of the day. You're 2 minutes from rest and have to sit there for 10 mins or more in a line for guests. I get it. Everyone has to check in, etc. And owners should get easier access, but once you have checked in and have a pass, guest or not, people should not have to sit in the line again to enter back in if you already have a pass.
Otherwise, it is a beautiful area with so much to offer. And a short 10-15 min drive to the main area with food and fun.
Security is an absolute power high. They do not care about the safety of others at gates. For those that aren’t from the area, they provide paper instructions at a gate for people to find the right directions. They do not have a security member at the other gate entrance and will make people do a u-turn, meanwhile, there are 6 other guests behind them and no one to effectively flag people to back up so the person can turn out. If anyone has an accent or English as a second language, they will not provide appropriate help.
They will fine people 100 dollars or more if they ask questions. If you ask to speak a manager, they will be resistant. I also went for a paper map and it was thrown at me. I one time called to ask a question about pool hours and was given an attitude.
While the facilities and houses are nice, if you want to live in a place where security will charge people fines for absolute nonsense or if a question is asked, go for it.
I arrived at this location completely by accident. The Security Officer who assisted me and my 97-year-old aunt couldn't have been more kind or helpful, and he helped us get back on our way with the utmost haste. I don't know anything about this gated community, but I know two things: Penn Estates is extremely secure and their security personnel are top-notch. 5/5 highly recommend. Thank you, kind Security Officer. I appreciate you.
My parents have lived in this community for years. It's about 10 min drive away to the nearest gas station, but the community is very quiet and clean. Pools, lake,gym and dog park.
