I would not recommend applying to this school. My experience here has been very disappointing. I feel like many of the professors and staff do not truly care about their students or support them the way they should. I’ve also personally experienced and witnessed unfair treatment toward students of color, which made the environment feel unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Because of this, I’ve decided to transfer as soon as possible. I hope the school takes these concerns seriously and works to create a more supportive and inclusive environment for everyone.

I like this venue for gymnastics competition. It's easy to get a great seat. The parking also got sorted, so that's good, too

Focus on your degree and your life will follow. Best university to get an engineering degree and stay focused as it is pretty isolated (least distractions). You will be happy you went through RIT after you leave(not when you are studying) for the rest of your life.

The online masters of architecture is advertised as an online program and this is deceiving because federal rules for financial aid do not allow in person attendance for distance education and this program requires in person attendance. The program is not compliant with distance education. This is very unethical!

You’ll wish you went elsewhere the entire time you’re there. The next 50 years you’ll be happy you did. The COOP program is worth every penny, campus life isn’t great but hey, you’ll make a ton of money once you’re out.

Started in 1966 at the downtown campus. Graduated at the Henrietta Campus in 1969. Went into Air Force. Came back for another degree in 1972. Graduated in 1973. Those 7 years made me what i am today in 2025 !

Excellent! Thank you R.I.T. for the Engineering Open House! Our students were engaged and focused. Everyone agreed it was an amazing day! We look forward to next years event! Again, Thank You! The BEST Saturday ever!

Not willing to challenge students when needed or accepting of the situation their students are in. Advisors create an atmosphere where a student can't feel like they are spending their money on an education worthwhile. Lenient on a single star as the opportunities when it comes to being creative and having fun are in place. Edit: apparently pissing off a scummy private school is not a good idea 👎 Officially a one star review. Edit:edit: DO NOT GO TO HR, they will send you on a wild goose chase and will not fix the issue, nor will they try to find a way to compromise, and do not accept personal phone numbers from school officials, it will screw you over ‼️‼️‼️

I was at RIT for the career fair. The preparation the campus puts into this activity made finding parking and the venue a simple task. Great attention to details.

I Love 💗 💕😘 this beautiful campus. So Beautiful 😍❤️ spacious coming from cramped city of DC. Love the wide space and area.

It was amazing. I was there for a high school graduation. Go Rush Henrietta!! It was so organized it isn't funny. They had buses the shuttle people from the parking lots to the main door. They had people coordinating which way to go. It was absolutely fantastic.

Your health place wouldn't give me crutches to get money out of the atm to be able to buy said crutches and I had to limp across campus. Now you keep contacting me for money and funding. What a garbage place, don't go here, it's filled with horrible people and worse faculty, especially in the computer science department.

Parents, students, and faculty, be aware that pit bulls are allowed on campus. Leashes don’t stop pit bulls. Pit bulls are a dangerous breed of dog that poses a safety risk on this campus and therefore should be banned from entering.

This school really prepares you for the real world since they work you really hard no matter what major you take. I really loved the food and would always wrap some up to go. You really have to manage your time well because the work could be a lot. I did not like the male to female ratio, there were not enough females to go around. The $15,000 tuition was a lot to me but this was thirty five years ago LOL but I do miss this place.

Great place to learn. And they have a juggling club that hosts a juggling weekend every spring. Amazing collection of maker spaces and studios.

This entire place is a facade. The cons far outweigh the pros of attending here. As a student of 5 years, I would strongly advise anyone considering this place to go elsewhere.

Good train show, good turnout. Student train staff very helpful, bought several items. Nice campus but arena parking could be better.

RIT had its time, but that has long passed. I sort of regret writing this because I have had some great experiences to be sure. But for every great experience, I have had three negative experiences. Infrastructure, housing, and the bus system are a joke. They are always changing things, and lots of equipment breaks down all the time. Effort to fix these issues is fairly minimal. Food is low-quality on the whole. Yesterday, I waited 30 minutes for a chicken sandwich because they didn't prepare the equipment on time. I should have waited only seven minutes. Another example is that ITS took 10 days to make brightness adjustable on a computer. This should have taken 5 minutes, and they were very defensive about that. RIT gets really expensive because of the cost of living, and because it's really isolated. Many people will try to pressure you to buy various things and sign up for programs. There are a lot of adjunct instructors who don't have much money. Many professors don't really teach, they just read from course materials and don't want to explain anything. There are some great profs though, including my MS thesis advisor, who was always very upbeat. The social atmosphere used to be very friendly and laid back. For some reason, that has rapidly changed. Even though we are all nerds, people lately have been getting really offended over the smallest things. Prestigious east coast schools like Harvard and MIT are stereotyped for having pretentious students, but it seems RIT students don't know when to let go of issues. This makes them even more extreme. For instance, I was reported to Public Safety for being lost in a building, essentially. This is despite the fact I quickly left, and the signs that I saw didn't make sense. They were very aggressive towards me (and lied that I had to attend the interrogation). Waiting for the hearing took five weeks over almost nothing. They said I wasn't careful enough, even though many things on campus break all the time. I found an attorney. Legal fees were almost $2000, and my attorney couldn't even represent me at the hearing. Fortunately, everything was dropped, though I still feel intimidated going on campus because I don't want to be reported again. I haven't entered that building ever since. Someone I know was in a similar situation, where he used the phrase "manifest destiny" in a joke that had nothing to do with American history. He was reported, and lost his TA position, even before the hearing. He hasn't entered the building he was in ever since, except on test days.

Really beautiful school. I visited it during a BAJA SAE event and was amazed because of the infrastructure and how well preserved are all the facilities. I couldn’t walk all the school but it looks to be huge. Alumni from the RIT are all amazing.

An amazing place with lots of greenery (during the fall). Winter update: snow snow everywhere, not a place to stand. Except for the weather, there isn't much of a change to the campus.

Short visit here to help my daughter pack her belongings and clean out her dorm room. Very nice campus. Exterior clean and well manicured. Ample parking. I was not able to tour the campus due to covid restrictions. Hopefully I'll be able to see more when we return in August.

The teachers are great. The education is good. The facilities are excellent. But that isn't enough to save the experience. Life outside of class is brutal. The experience all together is brutal. The dorm life is terrible, the RIT INN is bad also. Apartments are overpriced from the premium ones to the unfurnished ones. The food was pound for pound the most awful food I ever had to eat in my life. The school is like 80% Male 20 % Female and out of that 20% less than 5% is attractive. So don't expect on meeting any dream girls here the chances are slim compared to other colleges. The weather is terrible, The parties don't kick it half as good as some other colleges, drugs run high here with Rochester being a warehouse city for drugs, The campus is so massive parking spots are at least a half mile away at times many times further. Lots of prank fire alarms getting pulled more often than not in the middle of the nigh. The public safety and student conduct system is rather garbage compared to other colleges due to the fact that many of the reports they receive are rigged to target another student they don't like (yes the university can be that childish sometimes they still play with nerf guns) . Everything on campus is expensive, undersized, and downgraded. The ATM machines want 4 bucks not including your own bank fees, domestic beers are 6 bucks imports are 9. The groceries are terrible unless you go off campus. Lastly there's the campus that is built on swampy wetlands and it's always soggy and miserable long after storms have passed too. I'm thankful for the education I got it was good. But the overall experience, If I could do it all over again I think I'd take a chance elsewhere. Education is important and lots of opportunity come from it. But the experience outside of class is priceless. It's far more important because many people build the foundation of their future off of what they get from the overall experience. Education is just a tool to build off of the foundation and nothing will ever change that regardless of how nice facilities and teachers are at RIT. The experience is the foundation the education is what you use to build off it.

Absolutely beautiful campus! Over the weekend, we went for an Open House. The entire presentation was very nicely put together. Everyone we talked to had a genuine love for the school. Students were helpful wherever you walked. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful and lush green campus. The sports training facilities are pure classy. The university shuttles have great connectivity to nearby markets. The library has some of the best collection of books, journals, magazines and very comfortable seating on a the floors. On campus dining offer great food with frequent visits by outside chefs offering Indian, Japanese, Columbian food items.

Great place to study, culture and atmosphere are wonderful and conducive to growth. The school has a reputation of being easier to get into, but harder to stay. The workload prepares you for industry no matter what major.

Not much too argue about. It's ranked in the top 150 schools in the country and is approaching its 200th anniversary. The campus is impeccable, all beautiful brick, with tunnels to connect dorms with dining facilities. It has legendary instruction and perhaps more importantly connections to real jobs upon graduation. They are super generous financially. You'd never regret getting this caliber of education.

Great school for all major interests. This school also offers great education to Art majors as well (glass, jewelry, ceramics, Industrial Design, etc). I really enjoyed attending art exhibit shows and demonstrations in this school :) Also, the school hosts "Imagine RIT" each year which cannot be missed.

They have so many resources that students can take advantage of to really push towards their dream career. This college is great if you are into engineering, technologies, or science. I personally went for photography and all the professor's in my major were professional and some were well known photographers! It was really amazing to be taught by professionals all around. Truly great school.
