I went to get rid of some old stuff i had lying around. I was very impressed that the president of the company met me and helped me get the stuff from my car. They didn't charge me anything.
After doing some research I decided to take my 12 year old desktop computer to this business for recycling. I arrived and left my computer, monitor, printer, speakers in my vehicle as I was unaware of the process. I expected to receive instructions and an explanation of the services provided. I walked into the building and instead of being greeted, I was spoke to from an office. I was told to bring my computer in and leave it at the door. This was surprising and unexpected. Based on the reviews this is not the typical customer service received by other. I was asked if I needed help but declined after not feeling the respect of a more appropriate greeting. I made 3 trips to unload my large desktop in sections. Luckily, there was a nice staff person outside who held the door for me as I carried a large monitor inside. Once I completed my 3 trips, I wasn't offered a receipt nor gratitude for my partonism. If it wasn't necessary for me to discard my computer immediately, I would have left and found another computer recycling business. Subpar customer service.
After almost 23 years in the computer business this was one of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had. Our company purchased 20 computers from CSAD (dba "The Good Computer Guy").
Twelve arrived with failing hard drives, one with a bent/broken motherboard and another with a failed ethernet port. All were in grade C condition and required extensive restoration to prepare for resale.
The 12 failing drives tested as "CAUTION" in CrystalDisk and gave a "WARNING" in HD Tune Pro.
We asked for $5 back for each of the 12 failed drives - which is fair since market value is $7.50 each. CSAD countered with $2 per drive insisting that they have no problem selling failing hard drives to clients ("Most every refurbished computer have bad sectors"). Maybe they will risk their clients important information but reputable companies certainly will not.
After forcing them to take their failed computers back (they insisted on us paying a restock and return shipping on their failing product) the owner Peter left a negative review for our company with Google.
Is that the kind of company you want to engage in business with?
AVOID!
I can't say enough about the outstanding customer service here- I deal with similar companies all across the country and this team is flat out the best! Plus they return $$ to my budget, many do not. Can't beat that combo!
