I love this place, as someone who is committed to disposing of things "the right way" I like having a convenient year round place to do it. I've always gotten fast friendly service too.
I wanted to dispose of a couple of old LCD TVs responsibly, and since collection events don't seem like they're going to be a thing anytime soon I went to drop them off here. I had called in advance to find out fees for both TVs - the cost is not insubstantial, but I believe we should take accountability for our waste - so I knew what to expect.
I was greeted promptly by a gentleman who put on his covid mask to talk to me, which I appreciated. He was able to lift the TVs out of my car himself and took my payment with a portable card reader. Very convenient!
Some items are free to recycle, including an external hard drive I brought with me. I definitely recommend gathering any electronics you need to dispose of and taking them here to have the experts recycle them correctly.
Their website was a little vague, specially when compared to some of the reviews. The website shows that CRT (tube) TV's are $50, which they were, but mentions nothing in regards to flat screen TV's other than LCD monitors are free. A number of reviews I read said that the cost was per pound, which I could not find anywhere on the website and was not mentioned when I dropped off. I payed $50 per TV whether it was CRT or LCD flat screen. Aside from the lack of clarity on pricing, the service was much needed, helpful and the staff was friendly and helped unload everything that I had and made it a quick and easy transaction.
They must recycle their employees first which they talk to people very rude and impolite, we reach out to them for buying materials and the guy was this much impolite that I really disappointed from them. Garbage manner, for god sake learn some manner, with your speak you spoil the society
Friendly staff. No other options in our city whatsoever for recycling CRT TVs, but these guys made the process painless. The cost to recycle can be a bit painful for tube TVs (per pound pricing) but that's no fault of Evolution, just the unfortunate lengthy process it takes to recycle those CRTs. Also took some other computer equipment of mine without issue. Nice local business.
The staff was very helpful via email and in person. I had a car full of old equipment to be recycled. Several people helped unload my car. We had nearly 50 HDD's for destruction. Our certificates of destruction were sent to us in the same day. We'll be using their services and recommending them in the future!
The options are really limited in Pittsburgh right now. If you want to get rid of TVs in a responsible way, you're going to have to pay; this place made it easy to unload and pay for my TVs.
