Dented my car pretty badly on top of a hefty price tag. I would give this place a 0 stars if I could, especially considering how the customer service representative was incredibly dismissive and rude when I called them about it.
Jeff M was wonderful!! He was so friendly and helpful with our tow. I would definitely recommend this company and Jeff if I ever need towing service again.
Pittsburgh Truck Center (Carnegie, PA)
Very bad experience with Pittsburgh Truck Center – Carnegie, PA.
I called their road service and was charged $500 just for the technician to come out. The technician, Christopher, looked at the truck for about 5 minutes and immediately said the radiator was bad and needed replacement.
I asked how he diagnosed the problem and whether a pressure test or proper inspection was done. There was no clear explanation.
After that, he called his manager, Chad, and I was told that if I did not approve the repair and pay the bill, the truck would be towed. The estimate they gave me was almost $6,000.
This did not feel right, so I called a second road service for another opinion. The real problem was the water pump, not the radiator. The truck was fully repaired for $1,800 total.
This was a major misdiagnosis and a huge price difference. As a fleet owner, this type of situation causes unnecessary downtime, stress, and financial risk.
I do not recommend this location. If you use them, make sure to get a second opinion before approving any major repair.

Tim was incredible. Got me out of quite the bind. I paid some stupid tax, but hiring these folks kept me from causing a real disaster or getting hurt.
Tim took time to explain what he was doing and taught me a few things. While I hope I never need their his help again, it’s well worth it to keep from getting hurt.
Excellent service and experts at the wheel. Towed a whole school bus out to the sticks from Pittsburgh, and parked where I needed it, even in a difficult spot.

Fast, professional, and reliable. The driver took great care of my semi truck and got it safely to the service shop. He was also friendly and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience much better. Couldn’t have asked for better service.
After waiting about 2 hours for a different tow company that never came I called McGann & Chester, to get my vehicle unstuck. 20 minutes later Dave showed up and had me free, driving again, in 10 minutes

These guys came highly recommended by another local towing outfit. They might be amazing and have all sorts of expertise, but I will never know because they fell off the map twice while trying to arrange a tow.

Says a lot about a company that won't and doesn't take in account when people are disabled and on disability. To expect someone with this kind of income bracket and in this economy to pull 300 dollars out of their behind especially in circumstances where they weren't even the one driving. My friend is homeless and already struggling to survive..... and not even being willing to look at a situation and do anything to help them says that this companies ethics are in the toilet. I hope you sleep well at night.
Got my chevy 2500 stuck up in a field by my house getting fire wood. Tried the neighbors tractor and no luck. Made a few phone calls. These guys picked up came right out to assess the best plan of attack. Came back with a truck went through some quad trails and got to the top of the field. Hooked me up and pulled me out of the woods and up into the field no problem at all!! Thank you Tim and the other guys who helped out. If you get a truck or toy stuck these the boys you want to call.
Had an antique vehicle relocated by McGann & Chester Towing. Office employees were very polite and helpful in scheduling and updates. Driver was delayed a bit, but was very skilled at his trade and performed his duties professionally and safely.

We had a truck with a possible airbag leaking on the trailer needing repairs on Friday night at 11pm. I called and requested their help, they informed me that they don't have the airbag in stock (I gave them the part number) but they cab check to see if they can temporarily fix the issue so we can at least move the truck and trailer to a repair shop that would have it in stock. They told us the ETA of the mechanic was in 90 minutes and listed all their charges. The mechanic showed up, confirmed that the airbag was bad, and was able to isolate the airbag so that we can continue to a TA that had the airbag in stock and fix it there. It was not cheap, but it was fair, in line with the charges listed by phone, and the mechanic was knowledgeable. After speaking with him on the phone I was confident he knows what he's doing. We'll use this company again in the future when in the area if we'll need road side help.
My husband and I had an outstanding experience with McGann & Chester towing yesterday! From the moment we called their customer service, Rob, was friendly, professional, and reassuring. The driver, Chuck, arrived quickly, handled our vehicle with great care, and made the whole process stress-free. A McGann & Chester employee who was in the area, Ryan, heard the call and stopped by to ensure that the dangerous area we broke down at was secured from passing traffic. The whole experience was professional and efficient from start to finish. I highly recommend this company! Top-notch all the way!

Their truck just crossed the lanes extremely dangerously with no caution at all inside the liberty tunnel. I know there might be some emergency but this carelessness can cause a fatal accident. This is definitely not a good impression for a towing company. Just because you have a contract with the city that doesn’t mean you have a free pass to break all traffic laws and regulations. Great service! Chase we quick, efficient and great cx service. I would recommend using McGann & Chester towing. He pulled in and had my truck loaded and pulling out in no time. It looks easy but the support bars for my bed on of his truck but the way chase maneuvered his truck and and bed was impressive.
I happened to be in their neighborhood and my car died in the middle of the road. They took my call at 2:34 and I was home by 3:14. Absolutely the best towing experience ever. Thanks to Ryan who was quick and friendly. Made the experience of getting a tow less painful. Cost was $160 which is not bad considering how quick the response was. Highly recommended!
I have used McGann and Chester several times before—always great service.
Today, I brought a classic VW Beetle home. Our driver said he could not drive such a large tow truck on our (somewhat steep) driveway. However, after assessing the situation, he came up with a great solution. He squared the truck up to the driveway, extended and raised the bed, which put the car about 1/3 up the driveway, and loaned us some wheel chocks to hold the car in place while he moved the truck. I was then able to push the Bug up the driveway with my Honda Element.
I wish I had gotten the driver’s name, because he deserves a customer service award for his tenacity and ingenuity. Well done!
I had a great experience with this tow truck service! The pickup time was impressively quick, and the driver David was incredibly helpful and chivalrous. He made this situation much easier to handle. Highly recommend their service for anyone in need!
