My favorite thrift store in Alexandria! I had the pleasure of visiting again today and found several treasures per usual. Staff, Cynthia, was very friendly.

A nice mix of used items and clothings. I like their mission. Tons of $1 soft cover books. Their cook books are priced more like a used book store, not a lot of deal of be had for this category. Lots of clothes upstairs, as well as artwork. Both tend to be priced on the higher side and that fact alone made me lose interest.

This shop had great items and friendly staff! Really happy we came in today!

Seriously! This is another example of crazy. A jam bottle for $5? It should be FREE.

An event I experienced there last week led me to question some of what's going on there. I had noticed a small table at the back of the shop with no price on it, and questioned a person working there about the price. The individual I asked said it wasn't priced yet, that it was an antique from the 1880s, and that she had no idea when it would be priced because she was so busy. The very next day I happened to be in the shop, and the table was now in the front of the store with a price on it. In my view, this was perhaps a copy at best, judging by the consistency of the finish stain both above and underneath the piece and the state of the wood which showed no sign of age. So when I saw the $39 price on it, I thought that was a good price and took it to the counter to pay. As I was paying, the same person I spoke to the day before suddenly appeared, grabbed the table from me and said that $39 was not the right price, and further, the sticker on the piece was not even one used in the shop. She said she had no idea who priced it like that and claimed once again this was a very expensive piece worth valued at least at $800. There was no offer made on her part to hold the table for me once she (or someone) would put on the new price and let me know what it would be. I abandoned the interest in this purchase. But it really caught my suspicion when I noticed the little white sticker with the price on this piece seemed to be just like all the other stickers I was seeing in the store. I later wondered whether that was all a set up of some sorts, whether the alleged false sticker price was a set up, whether someone wanted the piece for themselves. Perhaps the whole event was perfectly legitimate. But as someone who herself has always made donations to the shop, although I've never once had any bad experience before, I will now think twice before donating again. And I also think a little more courtesy was called for in grabbing an item away from a customer who already handed over the money to pay for it.

I have found so many treasures in this store over the years. Don't forget to look upstairs for some vintage clothes. It is a must stop on your shopping day in Old Town. It's budget friendly too! A percentage goes to their charity for the Blind.

It used to be a great shop but they've been price gouging for several years now. A lot of times items are priced higher than new or they're priced as antiques or collectibles when they absolutely are not.

They have good items, but the pricing is crazy. Often higher than the cost of the items brand new.

This is a pretty nice little shop with a lot of different kinds of items. They do have a pretty extensive media room, but as others have indicated their prices tend to be high. I bought some CD's and other media here, but passed on some different items because the prices were higher than I would normally pay. That said the staff were very nice and there was definitely a substantial amount of stuff to look at.

Wanted to buy golf clubs marked $100 but didn’t want them all or the bag; and asked if they would separate some clubs and just buy a few. They said yes and then proceeded to go on their computer and look at eBay prices. Then told us they wanted $25 a club - which would be $150???? They wanted $100 for a bag and even more clubs than we took out. Buyers beware - they bait and switch. Needless to say, we walked out without anything. So greedy for a charity that gets donated good for free and then marks up at the register - lost faith- why even price your goods if you plan to just jack it up at the register.

Stopped in here on a recent trip to Old Town. I feel the prices are to high for a second hand shop especially since all the items are donated. I always love to leave with a little something, but couldn’t find anything to purchase on this trip.

Some neat stuff if you’re really looking but very overpriced. They overflowing with stuff so I image they can’t get rid of it with their prices. For example, saw this glass jar priced at $15 each when the original Target sticker is still on the bottom for $5. They also had individual wine glasses for $10-15.

I donated some clothes here today and they were incredibly friendly. I just parked on the side road, walked in and said I had some donations of men’s clothes, and they gave me the tax forms and helped me bring in the bags of clothes from my car. I also was able to donate four pairs of used glasses in a box on the counter! We also enjoy shopping here. Prices aren’t dirt cheap but they are typically reasonable and still much cheaper than retail, one dress I got was 25 dollars with tags and online it was 79 for example. Also picked up some picture frames. And preventing blindness is such a great cause, donate to or shop at this local charity when you get the chance!

I first discovered this thrift shop last year and was delighted to discover proceeds benefit the blind. My mom lost her sight and became legally blind. I’ve shopped there almost weekly (not a reseller) and sometimes it was twice a week. But in the past few months, their pricing has gone way up and there are many items that never move due to pricing (paintings are an example). Considering items are donated, I’m not sure why staff feels they must price gouge used things. The purpose of this store is to raise money for the benefit of others yet they maintain eBay and Etsy prices on things that were clearanced out of departments stores, Talbots, Crate and Barrell, etc at least two seasons ago. And the store is much more cluttered than a year ago. But what is really bothersome about shopping here is the staff. No one ever says hello and recently the woman (bilingual) working the desk/register acts as if she is bothered if asked a question or to see an item in display case. Not an ounce of politeness from her and 99% of staff. It’s a shame really. This store could really elevate itself to be in the amazing company of other non-profit thrifts like TWIG down the road. If not for its King Street location and Old Town patrons, I am not certain it would thrive.

Went there as a visually impaired person as I like the mission however the events in which unfolded there today made it so i will never go back. To start I looked at a camera and asked if it worked. To which the worker said "well you can just try it out" so okay I tried couldnt see whatever. Moving on there was a man looking for someone who which they kept trying to kick out for asking for money when he was asking for a name. Then when his cards declined, I offered to pay for his things and got treated like the scum of the earth. Got told "they try to discourage that" as they looked over at him and said "we dont want them coming back and pestering other buyers so if you want to give him money just give him cash outside". People ask for things in their life and there will always be a time where something is just out of reach... sad a charity based thrift store treated people in need and willing to help like scum... Wouldn't recommend anymore

Wonderful Charity to help raise funds to Prevent Blindness. We donate many items to good use here feels great to reduce clutter. They take small furniture jewelry mirrors dishes platter’s antiques household goods clothes. Repurpose Second hand is a win win for those that want to reduce trash & help the poor w/o $ or insurance. They always need men’s clothes - high demand.

Very nice resale shop - and on ritzy King St in Alexandria’s Old Town neighborhood. Kudos to the owners. Profits go to benefit the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington. I note a few unfavorable comments nearby from drive by reviewers. From my multiple experiences at this shop I will say to ignore them.

Catching up on reviews. I stopped by the afternoon of Sunday, 06-26-22. I love to thrift and I'm a reseller. I try to check out at least one thrift shop when I travel. I read the reviews beforehand & was a little skeptical. I think the reviews were accurate. There's a lot of stuff here, but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. I looked around upstairs and downstairs. Definitely were not thrift prices to me. Doubt I'd return.

It was my favorite in 2018-2020/21. Something happened after the pandemic… New manager? Prices are up, fewer items. I used to find great things there. Not any more. I have a feeling good stuff gets to internet stores or dealers before people like me have a chance.

An impressive, curated selection of clothes at affordable prices. I was able to try on and buy a number of designer selections for $3-$11. The staff was friendly and helpful, telling us at checkout that all clothes were 25% off. I got a variety of whimsical, one of a kind items for a modest amount of money. I highly recommend this store. It also made me feel even better that all of the sale proceeds benefit the blind.

What happened guys? It used to be a thrift store I loved to buy from but it changed to eBay priced store during the pandemic. They actually look up ebay to price their inventory. That's not longer a thrift store moto! The Twig Thrift store a block away is my favorite. The Christ house catholic charitues is my other fave.

Very weird experience every time I come in. They seem to not be organized enough to price items before they are put out so I've had to deal with volunteers trying to google search an adequate price for what might be a "valuable" antique. I've been turned away from buying items that are out on the sales floor because they want to appraise them. It's a thrift store not an antique auction event. They also make looking around uncomfortable by watching your every move as if you'll run out the door with something. Disappointing since they have cool things every once in awhile but not worth the unpleasant experience.

Such a fun store to look around in! Cool setting too; quiet, neat. The clothing selection is fun as well. A real hidden gem in Old Town!💗

My favorite thrift shop in Alexandria. They always have a huge variety of items, and great sales. Downstairs is household items, books, decor and more; upstairs is clothing and a wide selection of picture frames and wall art. Definitely worth a stop!

they have a wonderful selection of all kinds of household and clothing and furniture and very friendly and easy to do business with.

Very friendly staff. You can find unique, nice home items here. They also have a good selection of artwork and books. Great sales too, different each week - I recommend calling before you visit, they will tell you what sales they have if it's not online.

One of the few thrift shops in old town Alexandria. It is run by a charity for vision illness/ blindness prevention. Clothing is upstairs and that section closes half an hour before the downstairs. Merchandise is based on donations. Prices can be higher than other thrift shops but they often have sales. Parking can be an issue but that is the case for any business on King Street

Look Again has really upgraded its appearance in the last year. The friendly and helpful staff have an eye for arranging the quirky and fun objects attractively in the small space. I’ve found some amazing treasures here and I hope to find many more!
