I would give this company **zero stars if that were possible**. My car was towed from an apartment complex where I had a dentist appointment. There were **no clear signs indicating visitor parking restrictions**, yet my vehicle was still towed. When I went to retrieve my car, the woman at the front desk (who appeared to handle the payments) was **extremely rude and unprofessional**. When I asked what would happen if my car had been damaged during the tow, she responded by saying **“you would have to cry if it was damaged.”** This kind of response is completely unacceptable. This towing company seems to operate in a **very questionable and predatory way**, working with the apartment complex to tow vehicles and charge people excessive fees. I was forced to pay **$210** just to get my car back, even though there were **no clear warnings or visitor parking signs** where I parked. I strongly advise others to be very careful…….

Rude, unprofessional, and illegal. Yes, I said illegal. I didn’t know it was the law to tow someone from their apartment parking lot with a lot sticker without any notice. The apartment complex was even surprised, and said they’re not supposed to do that. Then on the phone, they tried to tell me they put a sticker on my car ahead of time (lie) and the apartment company hired them (then why were they surprised?) I asked them, and they hung up on me. The person on the phone must really love being yelled at, it must be what they’re into to be working at such a horrible business. Despicable.

Was my fault car got towed so no fault on them. Service was nice and efficient. Low score due to location. No parking and no waiting room. Stood outside in coldest day of year to wait for my car. 230$ a night also seems pricey but again my fault. Tow drives very nice and helpful in the lot.

They should have 0 stars. Rude people with an attitude hope karma bites all of them in the rear one day. Towing the middle class people and charging 250 is criminal. Power hungry company no one should support this business and contact the local district bureau.

A1 towing damaged my bumper, then try to tell me because I didn’t “check” it before it left, but it was dark so it’s my fault. Called to talk to manager told me they would be in one day Monday, called Monday when I called, manager wasn’t in, didn’t hear back from anyone for a month and they wanna ask what car? When in email told them what car, type, color, they damaged, because my bumper wasn’t falling off, but towed me, but all the cars in a no parking or don’t park pass this line still stayed from 6am-2pm or 5pm. But I had an apartment sticker, even when I found cars without the apartment sticker and still paid for visitor for my car out of fear or just a little bit over the line they wanna tow but not the ones in no parking or when cars all parked between poles they aren’t gone. I have pics of my car before and after. Just because I didn’t “check” they should have pics and everything. Again dark and I wanted my car back for work, I saw dirt markers, they should proof the same pics before they tow and after they park it’s because I have my car before and after I got it. I need a refund of the money I paid to get it out because my bumper cost me that much!

Got charge 250 for an hour kept and 3 mile far towed. Seems excessive and illigal. Hope business gets investigated and charge if any wrong doings.

Visiting from South Carolina..got an alert on my phone that my alarm was triggered. Within 4 minutes it was gone. Called the police thinking my car was stolen. Police said it was towed . Called towing company and said I was doubled parked. My back right tire was over the line. They saw easy money with an out of state tag $180. I gave him a $20 tip since they need money that bad. Told him to seek Jesus!!

My car was towed, and when I picked it up, the driver-side window was down. Staff claimed the windows are easy to pull down, but my car has a locking mechanism that prevents this. That part was removed and left on my car seat, and there were fingerprints on the glass, indicating someone opened and entered my vehicle. Towing a car does not give permission to go inside it. This was unprofessional and unacceptable. On top of that, their fees are extremely high, and staff blamed the county instead of taking responsibility. I also witnessed an employee being rude to a customer on the phone and making inappropriate comments afterward. Overall, very poor customer service.

In the parking lot of Truist Bank at 2221 S Eads St, Arlington, VA 22202, there is a gray Audi Q3 with license plate TXH 2560. I've visited the bank twice this week, and each time this car is parked in an inappropriate location. I had to get out of the car from the right-hand side and ask the bank staff, but no one knew who parked it in the customers' parking lot. I hope you can correct this error.

Had a car towed, but person at booth was very efficient. In addition, though my car wouldn't start, someone was able to jump start it with cables. Really appreciated all the assistance.

If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would. I know towing companies tend to prey on cars that frequent a property, but the way they handled my situation felt downright targeted. They towed my truck the moment my pass expired; late at night/early morning, in a way that felt almost meticulous and intentional. Meanwhile, there are cars on this property that have needed to be towed for months. I always do my due diligence and purchase a pass every single time I visit. This time, I simply overslept. When I woke up, it was only a short time past the expiration, so I immediately bought a new pass to place in my car… only to find my truck already gone. And then to charge $210 to get it out? Absolutely ridiculous.

My Experience with A1 Towing: Damage and Lack of Accountability A1 Towing scratched my car, and I found it impossible to file a complaint through their official channels. To get my grievance heard, I had to take action before leaving the yard. Crucial Advice for Victims of Damage by A1 Towing: You must inspect your car for damage before driving away from the lot. If you find any damage, do not move the car. Your best course of action is to immediately call the police to create an official report on the A1 Towing premises. This documentation is currently the only effective way to compel A1 Towing to address your complaint.

BEWARE Unethical Business Practices, Predatory even. BOTH TO THE BUILDING APARTMENT COMPLEX MANAGEMENT AND A-1 TOWING AND RECOVERY. THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO A-1 TOWING Terrible Customer Service using obscene words and hanging up my phone calls when all I wanted were answers to the polite questions asked while trying to retrieve the vehicle. Parked my car at 5055 Seminary Road The Monticello Building on Saturday, November 8 at 6:03pm while visiting a friend. Picked up the car from A1 Towing at 10:07pm after multiple at calling and trying to communicate for over an hour with no response. After finally connecting and trying to ask questions about when my car was taken even though the parking meter was paid. While I own up to my mistake of putting the last number incorrectly on the tags for a 9 instead of a 0, it clearly shows the car parked was a Ford Escape and that a meter was paid, but they still towed the vehicle. When looking for my car would not even tell me where my car was parked even though I had paid a $210 fee, when I asked where the car was told “go figure it out”.

I had an awful experience with the towing company that is used by my apartment management. My rental car was towed, and when I picked it up, it was obvious someone had driven it and eaten inside the vehicle — there were crumbs, food wrappers, and the gas tank was completely empty, and the tires were low. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. I’ve filed a report with Virginia Consumer Affairs and attached photo evidence showing the condition of the car after it was released. All apartment companies and other agencies who contract A1 Towing to tow for their property should seriously reconsider doing business with this towing company and take responsibility for the contractors they allow on their property. The attached photos are the day before and from this morning after I picked it up.

A1 Towing WRONGFULLY towed my vehicle when I had a valid permit. I have emailed them proof of their mistake, but I have not gotten my money back yet. It seems like I'm not the only person this has happened to.

I've been trying to get a manager to contact me for WEEKS for the damage they caused to my rear braking system when they hooked up my car. Whoever hooked my car up caused about $1,600 worth in damages and having to get a rental car. I've sent numerous emails, called multiple times. And not one reply.

I called the company today about my reserved parking spot because someone who doesn’t respect the rules parked in it. It took them an hour to respond, and the employee drove around the entire apartment complex while I waited by my car. When he finally arrived, the person who parked in my spot told him that it was her car. Instead of charging her, he gave her the car back. I don't understand why he didn't do his job and let her leave without her car, especially since I pay a lot of money for a reserved parking spot. It's really frustrating.

They towed my car, and I asked for the name of the man I was talking to on the phone, and he suddenly started cursing at me so I wouldn't tell him his name. They steal people's money and treat them like this. It was one of the most unpleasant situations I've ever experienced. It made me understand people who go crazy.

Last night, my sisters came to my apartment, and I always pay for their parking on Pango. She texted me at 7:20pm to come open the door. When she went to leave, we found her car had been towed at 7:22pm, so as soon as she got out of the car, they towed her. Also, when we went to pick up her car, a tow truck was intimating us by honking at us and parking right near my car as we were trying to pay for her car, and making it seem like he was going to tow my car, (AS I WAS TRYING TO GET MY SISTERS CAR), two young women in the middle of the night. The truck plate is 2638 TW. I would love for management to contact me as this was ridiculous. Predatory company trying to make a quick buck 2 minutes after my sister parked her car. Funny thing is, I was paying for PANGO as my sister's car was sitting in a towing yard.

This company is extremely predatory. They had claims that my visitor was parked incorrectly and said they were towed from a TOTALLY incorrect building thats across the street. They staffing was incredibly rude and making little comments and refused to print any documentation of the event because it would “take too long if they printed for people” highly recommend to document everything and file reports when needed against this company. They also said the car was towed at 11 pm yet air tag proof shows when the car was towed around 3 am. They just want money and make rude comments that we should follow the protocols that our apartment states… we do and we still get towed. The company doesn’t care and will continue to do predatory behavior like this and i hope apartment complexes and cities stop using this company.

My car was illegally towed from the same building I’ve lived for the last 2 years with that car!! My parking permit is WHERE MY LEASING OFFICE TOLD ME TO PUT IT!! I had my sun screens up, which covered allegedly the sticker. But how is it explained that the previous 3 nights that it was in that space with the same shades up NOT towed then? Or has NEVER been towed over the past 2 years I’ve been at this property with this car, with those same sun shades up. This is a predatory company!!!!

Rude and unprofessional! For the record, they did not tow my car. I called them for information and the person who answered was rude and short with me. I asked a simple question about their service and the employee literally seemed bothered by my phone call, as if their company exists for something other than customer service. Before I could even finish asking my second question, they hung up the phone on me. Extremely horrible customer service!! Foxchase of Alexandria needs to cut ties with them ASAP!

I had a terrible experience with this towing company. My friend’s car was towed on my apartments property IN visitors parking, within two minutes of us paying for the meter — yes, literally TWO minutes. We have the timestamp to prove it. This is NOTHING short of predatory behavior. There was absolutely no grace period, no warning, no opportunity for correction — just immediate action clearly designed to maximize profit rather than serve the community fairly. To make matters worse, the staff was rude and dismissive when we tried to ask questions. There was no transparency in the process, and the fees were outrageous for the short time the car was gone. It felt like a coordinated trap rather than a legitimate towing operation. I understand rules are rules, but this was handled with zero decency or professionalism. To tow a car that followed the PROPER channels of parking all for a 2 minute delay is absolutely disgusting. Avoid this company at all costs, and businesses that partner with them should seriously reconsider.

My car should have never been towed, but it was not the towing company's fault. I was staying at a hotel as an out of town guest. My car was towed in the middle of the night while we were asleep. I called A-1 first thing in the morning, they answered my call and gave me the address to pick up my car. I arrived at 8:30am to retrieve my car. This seems to be a big business around here. There was a line of other people waiting to pick up their cars as well. WARNING to anyone staying in Alexandria. I think it is absolutely a money grab. The person in the office was efficient at getting my paperwork processed. The man in the lot found my car quickly and was pleasant. He even said "sorry for meeting you under these circumstances, hope you have a better day". I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Not a great start to my day but could have been worse I suppose.

I had my car towed by this company and I noticed that my car had some damage. I was told to send my receipt and pictures to the manager by email. I also left my phone number just in case they needed to call me. I never received anything back and when I called the company they told me to send another email and to wait a few weeks. I expressed that I travel for work and my contract was going to be up within a few weeks, I was told that there’s nothing they can do. It’s been over a month and I still haven’t heard anything back. I did get my car fixed but I would like to be reimbursed for the damages they caused. This company is very unprofessional, and as far as damage they just ignore you.

I had a horrible and completely unjustified experience with A1 towing. This company towed my car without any legal grounds while I was making a quick Uber Eats delivery at North Hampton Place apartments. They do not even have a contract with the real estate management, meaning they had no right to tow my car in the first place. I parked my car for only 3 to 4 minutes to drop off food at the front desk. Since I needed to use the restroom, I was away briefly. When I returned, I found that the tow truck driver had already lifted my car and was securing it. I immediately explained that I was just making a delivery and asked where the no-parking sign was, but he completely ignored me and continued towing my vehicle without hesitation. I then went back inside to check with the front desk, and they confirmed that the towing company was not authorized to remove vehicles unless requested by the building management—which they had not done. Despite this, I still had to go retrieve my car from the impound lot, wasting my time and money on an unnecessary tow. The driver never apologized for his mistake or showed any concern for the inconvenience he caused. This company is clearly engaging in predatory and illegal towing practices, scamming innocent drivers. They should be held accountable for their actions. If you're in the area, beware of this company and their unethical behavior. If I could give them zero stars, I would!

My wife was in front of Inova with her hazard lights on to pick up something and the tow driving who appeared to be high as a kite even smelled like weed. He tried to tow her vehicle because she stopped there for about a minute. After she paid the $10 to release the vehicle, Amazon and UPS dropped off packages, no where was the weed man to try and tow them. This was a blatant quick cash grab. Update: Just spoke to someone at A-1 Towing & Recovery, they were trying to defend the issue, by saying I said something I did not. They said they don't tow from inova and then asked me which location, if they don't tow from Inova, it would not matter which location. Shady.

Apparently, notifying the complex is called a "courtesy." Their words. A1 is not a fan of courtesy. They let my car sit in their lot for 32 days, accumulating $1600 in additional storage fees for a car that was non operational. Not to mention, the apartment complex is subsidized housing. The people living in this complex need help with rent. They are the last ones in the county that should get screwed over like this. Bonus point for A1 for towing it from a Seabee veteran with Leukemia. ::golf-clap::

my car was towed and was severely damaged during the process unfortunately after numerous attempts of trying to reach out to the so called owner ( ROY ) as I told but one thief companies employee has not responded in regards to my situation. I am absolutely lost’d for words how unprofessional, dishonest and disrespectful these people are to hard working individuals and their properties. I most definitely will be pursuing further charges against this organization indefinitely… unbelievable
