HORRIBLE customer service. Front desk does not know what customer service is. Do not attempt to reserve a car from here, you will waste your time and when you go pick it up they won’t have a vehicle for you and will say “it’s first come first serve”. Not even a bit of compassion for clients that took their time (2 hours travel time) and paid for an Uber, they just do not care about you. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Would give 0 stars if I could.

I’m very grateful with the four ladies that attended me, first Zee gave me all the information about my rental, very educated, polite and help me with all doubts, Zay help me with issues about the inspection document of my rental due a issue on the Uber apps, she help me and supported me with patience and call Uber to resolve my problem, Nicole help me with the Florida registration document, was nice, explained me every doubt and resolve it, and I want to thank Ashley to answer all my doubts about my rental, it’s my first time doing Hertz and I’m very satisfied, sometimes people got mad because there is no cars, but it’s not the team fault, Uber only schedule you to pick up a car but sometimes there’s none, and another issues it’s because glitches on the apps

Hertz's management should stop being stupid and find a more appropriate solution. The process from car reservation to receiving the keys is full of nonsense. The idiot CEOs sitting in towers in California do not care about these problems.

Cant agree more on the below reviews. Avoid this place as much as you can. Worst and most horrible customer service i have ever experienced. People who work there take hours to eat, chat, walk but not to do the job. That is the last thing they are interested in doing. Be prepared to wait almost a day to pick up one rental car from here.

"Avoid Hertz in Alexandria, VA - A Nightmare Rental Experience" Remember If Uber confirms your reservation it’s not confirmed until you show up to Hertz. Where do I begin? My recent rental experience with Hertz in Alexandria, VA was an absolute disaster from start to finish. First off, the customer service was terrible . The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in helping customers, treating us more like inconveniences than paying clients. Save yourself the headache and choose a different rental provider.

The worse customer service experience. Phone number don't. Very rude employees. They even try to add the rental cost to discourage people since they don't it is for uber. Should be your last resort. Stay away if you can.

All the other one-star reviews are dead accurate. If this place is indicative of Hertz in general, then it should have stayed bankrupt. It is THE most unprofessional, run-down establishment of a major corporation that I have seen anywhere in the world (30 countries on six continents). They treat Uber drivers as the losers both they and Uber clearly consider them to be. Good luck having your reservation honored and actually leaving with a car. (I was stupid - or desperate - enough to try four times in the past year and a half to get an EV which I had "reserved." Nope: Burned each time. Never again.)

You can't make this stuff up. I have been waiting on my car reservation since this morning. At 16:20 we are told no cars! This is like a movie, but only it's true! After this ordeal, I left in despair, but one of the customers had mentioned Avis-Uber in DC... I rushed across town to Avis on 5911 Blair rd NW in DC. I was in and out in 8 mins flat! with a EV car.

It's complicated explain what happened in this place. People who works on that place where drivers have to pick up the car is completely un productive un professional and rude. I spent 6 hours of my day, waiting for a car that never came in. They attended just to their friends, and the other times are in complete joking mode between them and one of them "the older woman" said I don't care about drivers. I arrived 10:30am and come back by 5:15 pm with NO CAR. The girl tried to scream on me and I stopped her and told her that if no car why scream. It's a shame that big enterprises play this kind of false advertising putting us in a place where no one wants to attend properly. The cars are not free for us. We are customers as well and deserve more respect in this case. The screaming girl told us if we want a car the same day, we need to stay there by 6am and spend the day in that warehouse where no one knows about cleaning and smelling like oil spills everywhere.

I returned the car last Monday and they still charged me. Their phone doesn’t work. So unprofessional. The cars are always filthy when you get them like they pulled them out of a junk yard. They don’t care because Uber lets them get away with this.

This is absurd terrible service. They really don’t know how to process customers in a fast way. They don’t know when inventory is actually available for reserved cars. First it’s they don’t have some, they have 1 available. But there’s 8 customers infront of you. There is no assurance. Oh and wait… there phone don’t work!! You call and it says “this phone CANNOT BE REACHED At this time, please check the number & dail again” All I see is people waiting and standing. What is being done here?!? And the Neighboring Hertz NON-Uber Rental phone answers completely different service, but they don’t even have a number to give me for the Uber Rental business. They can’t transfer me, can’t help.

Uber - Hertz Drivers be aware that you might waste your time going to this location or other around the DC,MD or VA areas . Hertz inventory in their system doesn't match what the rental locations have. I've been trying this location for 6 + months . They don't answer phone calls to confirm they have teslas available. ;(

I wanted to rent an electric vehicle through Uber. I made an appointment a week and half in advance. Just to arrive and wait 2 and a half hours to no cars available. Completely unprofessional, I was completely disregarded, and I wasted money traveling all the way from Richmond to Alexandria for this experience. Highly recommended do not go to this place it is a major scam and terrible place.

They treat Uber drivers like animals. A driver would book a reservation and you show up at. Trashy place and after hours of wait they would say we are sold out.. this is not how you treat people. Even though they are Uber drivers who are in need. Why don't you just allow the driver to get charged to guarantee a car!! Driver's time is valuable and we got things to do. Shame on you for wasting our time

I had reservation waited 3 hours in line to be told there are no cars available. They don't even notify you ahead of time and don't answer their phone number. A bunch of Brazilians working here trying to take advantage of the poor people trying to make ends meet. Horrible customer service. Uber needs to find a better company to do business with. horrible horrible horrible please stay away!

Do not work with these people. First, I should have trusted my gut when I saw how badly maintained the location is. The building itself is in terrible disrepair, half of it seems to be empty, and the other half is in dilapidated shape. There is a half-melted radiator in the men's room. Everything is falling apart. Second, the company is as shady as it looks. Even though I booked an appointment to specifically rent an electric vehicle, they claimed not to have one in stock, and ended up renting me a CR V instead. I was trying to get started driving for Uber, so I ignored the alarm bells in my head and went ahead with the rental. Third, the customer "support" line does no such thing. As far as I can tell, it exists solely to "help" process late payments. Anything beyond this, and they tell you that you have to call the specific location that you got the car from. Which is a problem, because Fourth, Hertz Alexandria doesn't answer their phone. If you try to call it, you get an "unavailable" message, or it just drops the call after a few rings. I found all of this out when I tried to call their office because Fifth, last week I suddenly had two separate charges on my account - it turned out that instead of simply charging a renewal fee each week, they were processing the charges and then adding a separate hold on top of that, effectively doubling the amount of money being drawn out of my bank account at any given time. When I realized this, I returned the car at the end of the second week, and demanded that the hold be dropped for the following week. I was told it would take five days for that hold to go away. To be fair to them, the hold did go away quicker than that. HOWEVER Sixth, ANOTHER, new weekly renewal charge has now shown up overnight on my bank account, even though I no longer have the car. This has put my bank balance in the negative. Since, again, they DO NOT answer their phone, I am going to have to go in to the physical location AGAIN to get them to reverse that charge as well. The staff in this place are not merely unprofessional and rude. They are, at best, grossly incompetent, and at worst actively attempting to steal money from their customers, who are mostly too busy and struggling too hard to have time or energy to deal with any of this parasitic mismanagement. Lucky for me, I have time right now. I am writing this review in the hopes that someone will see it and avoid this place before setting foot in the teetering pile of OSHA violations they call an office. I am also considering taking legal action against Hertz, either corporate or this franchise in particular, or both, should the issue with recurring charges continue. I will also be contacting Uber, which has contracted with only this and one other location in the area to rent cars to potential drivers. My presumption is that Uber already knows what's happening, given their own history of shady business practices, but I will still be contacting them anyway, in the hope that if enough of their victim-contractors complain, either they'll address the issue or find themselves on the losing end of another class-action lawsuit.

My recent experience with Hertz rental car was extremely disappointing. Despite making a reservation ahead of time, I had to wait for 3 hours at the rental office to pick up my car. The waiting time was unreasonable and unprofessional. Finally, when I was attended to, I was told that there were no cars available for me even though I had made a reservation. It was frustrating to hear that after waiting for such a long time. The staff did not offer any solutions, and they seemed uninterested in my concerns. It was a terrible experience that I wouldn't want to go through again. I would not recommend Hertz due to their poor customer service and lack of professionalism. If you're looking for a reliable rental car company, I suggest you look elsewhere.

When you have a dying loved one and make a last minute reservation, if the company can't honor a reservation, the very least they should do is make every effort to contact me, not just rely on phone number. The email was certainly correct as I've gotten marketing emails from them already.

This is my experience. They rent me a car for Uber with a state inspection a week left to expire. It is about 2 hr or more waiting every time you check in at the location to talk to these two ladies . The manager never picks up the phone or responds to emails. They give you voucher to inspect the car and oil change for the car they rent you for them but the vendor the recommended you may not do inspection and you go from place to place looking at their vendor and most of them are crowded with customers and cares less about you bring a voucher to repair a car you did not own. Because they didn't want to call and be held on the phone for hours, they have cars neex to be repaired. While you are in the process of stressful mess, the day goes by without working Uber to repay your rental cost. That is insane. Anyone who will go through this process must just STOP it. It is not worth the hassle.

Unprofessional and rude staff. The waiting room is very crammed, messy, and humid. For a rental car company, they never have any cars and the “reservations” you have to make aren’t actually reserved since it is first come first serve. I would not waste my time here

Feeling disappointed 😞 They should give you indications as soon as you get there, waited 2.45 hours for a vehicle and they just said they don't have anymore available for the day, even when I had made a reservation already. Reservation should not go through if they don't have the car because all they do is waste your time.

I have never see a bad service like that ...2 people serve 50 plus customers...shame on you hertz I was in there three days .... i was reserve confirmation but i didn't get a car because no one returned the car 😢 shum on you coz the system supposed to reject the reservation until make sure .....i spend 3 day for uber more than 100 dollars. you guys make a millions and you can't even hire more people!

Came here to rent an uber car. Waited 5 hours and was told to leave because they are closing. Kicked out 10 Uber drivers. No shuttle ride to the metro. No nothing. A hood chick with rope hair and a bad attitude wasted our time.

I got here around 14h00 and it is shown 17h00 and I still have 28 ppl in front of me! I was thinking about renting a Tesla for Uber, unfortunately it's the only hertz that provides this service!In the meantime, only one lady and one guy work in this office, it is very clear that they could not handle the workload! These large companies like Uber and Hertz must have a plan to serve that number of people to help them get back on the road!I'm sure that's the last issue they have. I am extremely frustrated with my experience here, and because I have no other options to get an EV with Uber, I have to deal with this!

They should hire better people for a fair customer treatment. The guy at the desk he does his job while acting like you owe something to him. He doesn't know how to respect customer, most likely because he has no self-respect. It's very typical for rental companies but these people needs some correcting. I will stop renting from Hertz because of that guy and management should do something by educating that guy, teaching him proper things, seems like he has none. That makes Hertz lose business...

I rented a car (Tesla) through Uber, both systems are supposed to be connected and show you if they have the availability of the vehicle or not, I arrived at the indicated time, they tell me that they do not have cars available and that they do not they are to blame. They waste your time by simply not using resources in the most efficient way.

1 star is a gift. If I could give lower then I would. I had a reservation pickup time 10 am and stood in line for an hour and a half. The staff is rude and unprofessional. I will never rent another car from them. Take my advise and stay away.

Website allowed confirmation to reserve a car when they HAD NO CAR available, nor expected to be available. Given the confirmation was issued a day or two before the reservation date, one would think the business would AT LEAST notify the person prior to them arriving that the reservation was done in error to avoid wasting time...and a false sense of assurance given the lack of rental availability.
