As a woman, west side metals is always helpful and attentive to my needs, helping me push out big items from my truck. They are kind and courteous; can’t say enough good comments about them.
I always feel like I get lowest price. And half the time I dont even get a receipt... I honestly stopped going there. And it's the closest place to my house. Honestly-

I’ve dealt with some of the other spots on the westside -these guys are by far the top of their game.

Good prices, but the staff is who makes this place great! Had car trouble and the employees helped me out so much. They didn’t have to, but they made me believe that human kindness is still around!
You guys are cheating on aluminum engines bro how you wanna give me steel prices for aluminum engine I am done with West side market I will not be returning
they like to start weighing your stuff while your removing your stuff still unloading in their inside scale area , that means you don't know what's going on how much each specific metal your getting and exact weight per type of metal.. they have no weight read out for customers to see and they like to place your metal on the outer front part of the scale that's the part that doesn't give you accurate total weight .. they think I didn't know this , probrobly cause I haven't scrapped metal in 9 years and was my first time doing it again they took advantage .. also they gave me chump change sheet iron price for a 50 pound cast iron sink.. again they work in a team to hurry up rip you off quickly before you realize what's going on. I will not be returning to this shady place again . I don't recommend this place
I had a lot of scrap aluminum from a home remodeling left over. I went here because it is open on Sunday. The parking is very tight. However, once I figured out the system, it was easy. It is very busy on Sunday. The help is very polite and, well helpful. They knew I was new at this. The guy helped me unload my truck and showed me what to do. They give you a pay slip, and then you go to an ATM to cash out. A female worker showed me how to do it. I appreciate their efforts to simplify the process.
I would not recommend going here at all I had 500 pounds of galvanized steel for industrial racking they were paying .09 a pound I got $45 that’s ridiculous
Fantastic group of employees that are a pleasure to deal with. I come in often as my work produces a lot of scrap metal and I always look forward to the experience. Oftentimes they'll even come help me unload my trailer, which is above and beyond.
They're also reliably the highest paying scrap yard around! More than double the offers I've received from some competitors.
Just started going there but they seem to have fair prices and the guy out there on the tractor will help you identify all sorts of metals that you're not sure about like ornery aluminum stainless etc etc and it also quick and time is money I gave him a five-star because they prices are always borderline fair or above and they're quick really quick
Have been going here for many years, they have great prices and also are very friendly. Easy to drive too and also the process is simple and they will always help with unloading/loading. I recommend them over any other scrap buyer for the west side of Cleveland OH. For the east side I have my go to scrap shop also.
Although it was a little hard to figure out where to go and what to do on my first visit, the guys that work there were very helpful. They were working quickly and efficiently and keeping social distancing in mind.
I've been going here for a while bc it's one of the only recyclers open on Sunday. I love that part of it. But it's good to know exactly what kind of metal you have when you put it on the scale (The human scale) Because there are various types of stainless steel. And if you don't know what type you have, like 309-304-316. Or 416-420, you could end up being very disappointed in your payout.
I went to scrap metal for my boss we pulled up on the scale one employee from west side metals advised me & my coworkers they wasn't open to the public and asked if we had a business card I gave the scrap worker the business card someone approached anyone can have a business card he never called or looked online to verify the business stating he wasn't going to accept the scrap over all long story short I felt racially discriminated against as the worker ,owner or what ever his title was walked away without returning the business returning the company card all scrap salvage company on w.140 better place to scrap metals
The former manager / supervisor (Tall, Heavier) had customer etiquette. The new manager / supervisor (shorter-mouthy) is a disrespectful douche bag. We came there very neutral and simply expected good customer service, all we received was an attitude. This manager is bad for business and we will not be back. West Side Metals will lose considerable future money because of this from us and our business associates. West Side Metals, hopefully this bad review will improve your business on the customer service end. Employees should not take their anger out on customers or try to show phony bravado to customers. There are other scrap yards in Cleveland.
Josh the Mgr. is awesome & he's a stand-up guy in my books...Bill the weigher is cool, just give him his space & he treats you like the pro he is!
Under new ownership and all they care about is the $....but the employee's do their best with the idiot they have to work for!!! Prices aren't always the best...but reasonable!
I've been going here for years. It's a scrap yard. Don't expect much more than that. They pay a fair price for scrap and they sweep regularly so you don't catch a flat tire.
