The woman at the front desk has zero compassion. She said I committed fraud multiple times, said I was lying to her, and refused to apologize when it turned out the vehicle she was talking about wasn't even mine.
It's been two weeks since I reported my vehicle stolen. It so happens that the vehicle was parked in front of the pictured sign. So we thought there was a good chance it was towed and the city had just lost track of the vehicle. When my insurance called me saying their investigator located my vehicle I was happy it was found and fearful that the towing company would not give me a break on the price regardless of the confusion.
When I called in to explain what happened, the woman who answered the phone (I'll add her name when I figure out who she was), immediately denied my story. She said all she could do was tell me the price that was owed on the car, almost 1k. When I tried to ask for some grace, given even the police thought it was stolen, she denied that it was true saying she was looking at the record. I told her it didn't make sense since I had a police report and the police hadn't called me to say the vehicle was found. She claims the police wouldn't call me if the car was found and that I knowingly submitted a fraudulent police report. Both claims she made we're false. She had no sympathy, no kindness, and no common sense. When I asked if we were even talking about the same car she finally decided to verify the plates and vin. And what do you know, what she thought was a lie was just information on someone else's vehicle! I asked her if she could apologize for saying I was lying and trying to commit fraud and in response she put it back on my saying I was the one who claimed I had a vehicle of that make, model, year, and color. I do and so do thousands of other people! You'd think someone who handles cars as a job would know that many are made in the same color! She told me have a nice day and hung up.
I'll call back to find out who this woman is and report her to her supervisor but he forewarned, she is not a reasonable person and will not be pleasant to anyone having a rough time.
Think twice before calling Delaware Towing.
I did not use this business but my partner did, or tried to at least. (He felt like leaving a review wouldn't change anything about this awful situation, but I've detailed it below anyways).
He called on a Sunday, paid via debit card. Shortly after he was told their tow truck broke down so they could not provide the service of towing. Additionally, they could not provide a refund for 3-5 days. 1)How does a tow service have only 1 truck? 2)When a tow is a critical service, and that could have been someones last *several hundred* dollars, an instant refund or alternative repayment method or service should have been a no brainer.
They did offer a deal with their sister company for an additional $100, but that just felt like a scam at this point and he went with another company.
Be sure to ask and confirm that their only tow truck is actually operational before paying.
Couldn't have had a more positive experience with Delaware Towing Service. My car wasn't properly reading my key which led to me calling them for a tow. Once they arrived, the driver wanted to try to jump it first in order to make sure it wasn't just the battery. He could have just taken the tow, but instead chose to put customer service at the forefront resulting in sending me on my way without needing a tow. Classy move and excellent place!
Top grade professionals from management to the drivers. My experience was beyond amazing. Rescued my stranded vehicle and made sure it was running ok before departing. This crew are seriously Angels that helped an out of town guy get safely back on his way. Thank you and God Bless! // Highly recommended //
I would give a zero if I could. I called Saturday night at 10pm. Whoever answered the phone sounded drunk. He told me he'd have one of his drivers call me. Never did. I will never call again.
Very professional crew, my fiancé needed help unlocking her car and retrieving the keys, Luis' crew helped her get the car back in no time. I also used to service to move my car from Newark to a shop in Wilmington, the driver showed up on time and was very professional and courteous.
Great service, and fast response. I do wish they have more drivers because sometimes they do not have a driver available to help. They helped my husband move cars from shops to auction yards.
