The Midland is my absolute favorite venue in KC. The staff is always so incredibly helpful, bathrooms clean and beer are cold. I am handicapped and their ADA services are top notch! Absolutely beautiful place

Let's talk about how great the Midland Theatre is. I've gone to countless shows here for many years. Every single time it's a great experience. No matter what seat or general admision ticket you buy, there's a great view of the stage and the sound system works well in all directions. The staff are super friendly and really work to ensure that you have a good experience. I'm including a video that was taken from the back of the main level - you can see that the stage isn't that far away even from the back of the theatre. There's always room out in the main lobby for multiple merch tables, and the lines don't ever seem to be too bad. There's plenty of indoor parking within a few blocks of the theatre, I've never run into a full garage or scrambling at the last minute to find parking. The band in the video is "The Band Named Camino". I'd never heard of them but a friend got tickets and said we should go. They put on a heck of a show and I'd go see them again, preferably at The Midland of course!

Went on Nov. 11, 2025 to see Joe Bonamassa. His shows are amazing ! Now as to the venue, what a great place to see a concert ! Plenty of ushers to get you to your seats. With a full bar inside the auditorium at the main floor and a slightly smaller one inside the lobby, we didn't wait but a minute to be served. I will say, that the alcohol here wasn't cheap, with prices typically twice what you'd pay at a regular bar, but then again there wouldn't be the amount of security personnel the Midland had in place. We definitely felt safe. The only criticism I can come up with would be, the chairs. With the rest of the auditorium being on grand display and leaving us in awe, the chairs were small and lacked any padding. Still though, a 5 star venue.

What a gorgeous theater! Like many older places, the ceilings were ornate and beautiful. Big curved staircases to reach upper levels. Elevators available, too. Located on Main Street with a parking garage adjacent. I went for a comedy show. They had beverages available on every level. I sat as high as you can get and had no trouble seeing the stage. There was an issue with the sound for the 1st 5 minutes but the team got it sorted out. Comfy seating. Plenty of room and support with arm rests. Staff at every entrance and level to help. Security at front entrance. All were super nice!

Me and my family went here to see a lovely comedian. It was very fun and at first I was just excited to see the comedian. Once I stepped inside though, I was blown away by the beautiful ceilings, walls, and practically everything within this building. It was beautiful, the comedian even commented on it. The event was run nicely and was definitely one of the better theaters I have been too. We were seated pretty far back, but we still had a lovely view.

Historic theater in a downtown area, tiered floor seating and 2 balconies and very intricate, historic decor. Was there for a Garbage concert. Very similar to Orphium in Omaha. Midland is starting to show signs of age with like worn out carpet in high traffic areas, cracked paint and a little Dungey in some areas. Overall though it was a pleasing venue for the event I attended.

My friend surprised me with tickets to my favoritist artist EVER, Marilyn Manson, which was at the Midland, and I had a phenomenal time! This venue is a super neat place! I didn't get many pictures as I was wanting to be present, in the very surreal moment, but I did share a few... The ONLY thing I didn't like about this place was the price of the flipping drinks!!! Completely absurd, as I spent $64 on two vodka Red Bulls! ?? I did order them each with double shots, one for me & one for my friend, as I didn't plan on drinking more than one, knowing they would be a little pricey (and I didn't wanna lose my spot while getting drinks!) but I did not see that super inflated price coming, AT ALL...! $32 a drink..... Holy cow. But it far from ruined my night as we went on to have THE BEST TIME! Also, getting in was super quick and easy... (FYI-my friend found a way to get into like a super fast line to get in quickly so we could get better spots! I believe he said it was $50 that he spent on it and it was soooo totally worth it! Not sure if they do this at all shows, but if so, I do recommend purchasing one if you want in on the up front action... I believe it is called a quick pass, but could be wrong, but it's a different line from just the regular line and it got us in with a quickness, to get right up front! What a great night!

The show was great. The venue is awful and the people who work there are weird and lack hospitality. Bought a ticket to see dream theater and I sat in the suites. There wasn't even any bottle service, despite it being the suites. And each time I asked a question to the person at the door the answer was "idk anything about the menu" or it was "we don't do that here". Near the end of the show, the same lady tried stopping me from taking pictures or any short form videos of the show. Babe it's a rock concert. Of course people are going to take pictures and video. ?. Upon leaving the suites the same person wasn't even willing to hold the door open for us at all. What's the damn point of buying a seat in the suites if there's no hospitality or bottle service??? The drinks that were offered on the main floor were minimal and basic. And For one it was 25 dollars. Lol ? the whole experience was a waste of money.

Great concert venue. Great sound and fancy inside.

I traveled to this venue from out of town to see a comedy show. The venue is beautiful. All of the seating looked unobstructed. Didn't seem to have a bad seat in house. There were no food or snack options.

Went to see Marilyn Manson perform here. Concert was 10/10. Venue is absolutely beautiful. Be prepared to look for parking and pay for it and then walk to the theatre. We didn't mind that. My only complaint is the price for drinks. $50+ for 2 drinks.

BIG shout out to the box office staff! After buying tickets to a General Admission concert, I called because I injured my ankle and would not be able to stand for the whole show. They kindly provided a seating option for my party. Regarding the venue, it is a beautiful, historic building with the type of amenities one would expect. I've attended comedy shows and metal concerts. It is my favorite indoor venue in KC for those types of events. The only downside is that it's located in the busy Power & Light district--which can make parking a headache. Fortunately it's a short streetcar or Uber ride away from convenient parking locations.

Great place! I drove down from Minneapolis for a concert last night and this is a beautiful venue. The floor is nicely spaced out with railings and levels. It is also in a spot that is walkable from hotels and restaurants.

I had a good time a The Midland seeing the Clipse and Earthgang. Wifey and I sat in the balcony for my first time out. Unrelated, the seats were mad comfy and clean.lol (I wore all white to the show). Security and staff were cool and helpful from my experience. Classy spot too, has a vintage feel but not old if that makes sense. Would for sure see another show there.

Beautiful old theatre, seats are fairly cramped, as expected, but the acoustics and ambiance are wonderful! Easy entry and exit, bathroom and beverage lines were very reasonable.

Such a beautiful theater, honestly feels like something from Broadway! Insider hint, if the concert is sold out, call the box office - they hold back some tickets that are very reasonably priced in the mezzanine suites.

Went to see a concert at the midland. Everything seemed to be going great till the end of the concert when someone passed out, and it took way too long for security to get to her. I wish that it was due to the crowd, but unfortunately, security just wasn't paying attention. Other than that, I honestly enjoyed the midland theater. The seats were good,other than of course other people sitting in our seats and getting upset when trying to sit in the seats we paid for, lol.

Incredible venue!!! A Kansas City original about to turn 100 years old. Stunningly beautiful inside. It does have a lot of stairs and the seats are a little small (due to age). Be prepared… we ordered 3 cocktails and a soda and it came to $70. GREAT views! No trouble seeing the stage.

I saw Rock Orchestra at the Midland Theater and it was an amazing experience! The performance was powerful and captivating from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful—great acoustics, stunning architecture, and a perfect setting for a live show. Highly recommend seeing a performance here!

Really beautiful architecture. Almost 100 years old according to an employee here. Pretty remarkable how every little detail was thought of. Even the floors look kind of like flowing gold.

Amazing Venue, Incredible Show! We had an unforgettable night at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City watching Franz Ferdinand. The band put on a high-energy, tight performance that had the whole crowd moving and at one point of the show, crouching lol. The Midland itself is a stunning venue—beautiful architecture, very intimate (especially for hosing a world class band like Franz Ferdinand), great acoustics, and a vibe that really enhances the concert experience. Staff were friendly and the whole night ran smoothly. Can’t wait to come back for another show!

My 1st time attending a show at this venue, it was an awesome experience. Security was fast and efficient, plenty of areas to stand to see the stage, seats up in the balcony & seated areas near bathrooms to take a break away from the noise, bar areas were clean, but I especially loved the architecture throughout this place. Definitely would like to see a show here again.

Enjoyed the night at midland theatre We came for a comedy show! The theatre is very beautiful on the inside. We also had our school ‘prom type’ event here which was amazing ? Love this venue

This place is BEAUTIFUL! All the levels and staircases. The ceiling was just amazing. The suite section of the venue was absolutely gorgeous and super cool how it's laid out. Easy fast in and out garage parking right next to the theater same side of the road. VIP was affordable with early access, with top balcony viewing. Cheaper drinks, not by much but cheaper all the same.

Had a blast at my first show here! Easy entrance with ticketing and security. The theater itself is beautiful and I loved their concert space including what I thought to be a good assortment of seating and standing areas. I know personal space perhaps can't be guaranteed at every show, but I was able to enjoy the whole show with breathing room and not bumping into anyone. Bar staff was quick and friendly. Not gonna lie, $17 for a medium sized Boulevard Southwest Blvd is kind of crazy but oh well. Sound quality and the stage were solid as well! Glad to have this on my radar as somewhere I would definitely attend another show.

One of my favorite places to see a show. Acoustics are fantastic, and it is very easy to get to the front for an up close experience. Multiple bars in and outside the theater also make it easy to get drinks or step back for a rest from the chaos. Will see shows there any chance I get.
